Chapter 3 - FINDING FRIENDS

Max's expression immediately turned serious as he rushed forward. One of the third years did the same and threw his fist out, Max immediately got below him and delivered an uppercut, he then pulled his seniors hair and sent a knee strike to his face.

"Shit..shit..shit" The third year cursed as he held onto his nose

Max sent a right heel kick finishing the third year in an instant.

The other third year let go of Kealin and rushed forward, he threw a punch to Maxes face, but it was deflected by Max who then delivered a palm strike to his lower abdomen

The third year held onto his abdomen as he gasped for air. Max raised his feet and used his heel to smash his seniors face into the ground.

Turning around Max looked at Kealin and said

"Daijoubudesu"

"Huh" Kealin was dumb founded

" Oh for the love of God Max , enough japanese already" A female voice came from behind Kealin, turning around he saw a yellow-haired female, she had perfect curves, bright yellow eyes , was chubby in the right places and she put up that beautiful smile that could turn a guys world upside down. This beauty's name was Lena their class captain and behind her was April.

She then came up to Kealin and said

"Sorry about that, he asked if you're ok"

Kealin was still mesmerized by her beauty, that amazing girl fragrance wafting through the air that he didn't realize that she was talking to him.

"Eh-hm" April's fake cough brought Kealin back to his senses

"Oh I'm fi..." Kealin collapsed

**********

In the school's infirmary, Kealin was sleeping on a sick bay, by his side were Max, Lena and April

A young lady who looked to be in her Twenties walked in wearing a white body fitting gown .

"There are no severe injuries, so he should be fine"

" Thank you " April said looking at the nurse, she then looked at Kealin and her expression immediately turned sour, he was in this condition because of her. When Kealin first came to class, she thought he was just an idiot who didn't know what to do. But after Kealin saved her she saw him in a different perspective.

Unconsciously, tears started streaming down her cheeks April felt a palm on her shoulder, turning around she saw Lena smiling at her.

"Everything is gonna be alright" she said.

Seeing Lena's smile, April wiped her tears and put up a smile

"Ah... what happened" Kealin said with his eyes half open

" Well let's see , you laughed at Miss Vanessa, got detention on your first day and ended up fighting 3 third years, way to go Kea" Max said with his hands behind his head

"Max"

"What"

"Are you okay?" Lena asked

"Yeah, I'm...ow" Kealin said as he tried to sit up. He then turned to look at April and asked with a smile.

"Are you okay"

"I'm...Thank you very much" April said as she bowed her head.

" Whoa, dude you got a girl to bow to you" Max said as he teased Kealin

" Are you two gonna start dating now" He asked

" What...of course not" Kealin answered.

" Kealin, you should rest for a while, we'll go tell the principal what happened " Lena said as she headed for the door

" Guys wait" Kealin called out and asked.

" Why are you guys helping me? l mean just got here and you don't even know me..... so why are you helping me?"

Lena smiled and said

" If you saw someone in need wouldn't you help "

" And beside, your our classmate and here in NYC we look out for each other " Max added.

The first few days of school were tough. Kealin struggled to fit in, and some of the kids didn't make it easy for him. He was bullied by a group of seniors who thought it was funny to pick on the new kid. But Lena and Max always stood by his side when ever he was in trouble, and after the April incident everyone was talking about him. He found out that Lena was a charismatic and confident person who wanted the best for everyone and could stare right through them like in history class. While Max was a carefree and laid back guy who cared about nothing but martial art and japanese and they both took a liking to Kealin and soon, 3 of them were inseparable

One day, as they were walking down the hallway, Max brought up a certain topic " Hey, guys have you heard about this underground fighting thing going on in the city. You might be interested".

Kealin's ears perked up". Underground fighting? What do you mean?"

Lena smiled and said" You've probably not heard of it, there's a place called the Maze right below NYC, it's like a large city that really operates at night".

" There's this secret arena where people go to fight – real fights, not just sparring. It's intense, and the fighters are usually pretty skilled. Some people do it for the thrill, others for the money." Max said as he placed his arms behind his head

Kealin's mind began to wander, imagining the rush of adrenaline and the thrill of competition. He had always been drawn to high-risk activities, and this seemed like the perfect outlet. "That sounds like exactly what I'm looking for."

Max nodded in agreement. " Yeah, it's a great way to blow off steam and test your skills.

"Hey Kea-kun you should join in, although your still a little rough around the edges, your skills aren't that bad"

"But you have to be careful. The arena isn't exactly safe, and the fights can get pretty brutal" Lena said.

"Yeah tell that to the third years" Kealin said, his excitement growing

Lena scribbled down an address on a piece of paper and handed it to Kealin. "Be careful, okay? This isn't exactly sanctioned by the school or anything. If you get caught, you'll be in big trouble."

Kealin nodded, tucking the paper into his pocket. He couldn't wait to check out the underground arena and see what it was all about. As he walked to his next class, he felt a sense of excitement building inside him. This could be the start of something big.

The rest of the day flew by in a blur of new faces and unfamiliar surroundings. Kealin's mind kept wandering back to the underground arena, and he found himself counting down the minutes until he could sneak out and check it out.

As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, Kealin grabbed his bag pack and headed out of the school building. He made his way to the subway station, his heart racing with anticipation. He pulled out the address Lena had given him and studied it, committing it to memory.

The subway ride seemed to take forever, but eventually, Kealin found himself standing in front of a nondescript warehouse in an industrial part of town. He took a deep breath, feeling a mix of excitement and trepidation. This was it – the moment he had been waiting for
