"Sean, where are you going later?"
"To the library. I'm planning to do some homework and read some books. I'm curious about what books are there."
"Then... do you want me to come with you? If you do, then I'll..."
Sean looked at Blaise. They had been spending a lot of time together lately, so he naturally knew what Blaise was implying. Sean smiled and shook his head, saying, "Go find that senior girl. She asked you out, so it's not good to stand her up. You can't chat in the library anyway, so we'd just be doing homework and reading separately."
Blaise chuckled, reached out, and patted Sean on the shoulder, saying, "Alright, I'll see you in the Great Hall tonight. I'll tell you about how the date went."
"Okay, I look forward to hearing about your success."
Sean watched Blaise head towards the Quidditch Pitch. There hadn't been any matches recently, so there were very few people there. It was indeed a very suitable place for a date.
If possible, Sean might also choose to spend his student days leisurely.
However, Sean knew very well what would happen in the future, so he didn't have the time or energy to deal with those things. Right now, he just wanted to become as strong as possible as quickly as possible. This was the sad part about being in the same year as Harry. Accidents happened every year, and you could lose your life if you weren't careful.
The library was on the fourth floor. Sean stood on the stairs at Hogwarts, feeling helpless about the constantly changing staircases, especially for a first-year wizard like him. Taking a wrong step could be very troublesome.
After finally arriving at the library, he found that many people were already seated, especially fifth and seventh years. They were about to face their O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s. Any student with even a slight plan for the future would choose to spend most of their time there.
Conversely, very few students from the other five years would choose to come to the library to study so soon after the start of the school year. Even Ravenclaw only had slightly more students than the other houses.
He found a seat near the window. This had originally been a seat for a fifth-year Hufflepuff student, but as Sean passed by, he happened to remember something and left with his belongings, which benefitted Sean, allowing him to find a good seat.
The homework assigned by the professor was not too difficult for Sean. He could complete these assignments just by relying on his skill in dealing with homework from his previous life. However, Sean would not do this for the main subjects. He would only slightly muddle through subjects like History of Magic and Astronomy. For other subjects, he would still write seriously.
The homework didn't take much time. After all, it was the first assignment, so it was relatively easy. Even a teacher who loved assigning homework like Snape didn't assign much for the first assignment. Therefore, after finishing his homework, Sean tidied up his things and put them on the desk, then went to the bookshelves in the back to look for the books he needed.
Currently, Sean's knowledge structure was mainly based on textbooks, supplemented by notes. The knowledge in the textbooks determined the depth of Sean's understanding of the knowledge recorded in his notes. Sean would write down the difficulties he encountered and look for corresponding books in the library to clarify his doubts and extend his knowledge.
He was holding the seven books he had found and was ready to go back, but before he could return to his seat, he was stopped by Madam Pince from the library: "You are only allowed to borrow five books at a time... But you look like a first-year student. Remember to pay attention next time. Go on."
"Thank you, Madam."
Listening to Sean's whispered thanks, Madam Pince nodded slightly and continued patrolling the library with the feather duster in her hand.
Sean returned to his seat with the seven books he had found, but just then, he saw Hermione sitting in his seat, looking through the homework he had left there.
Seeing Sean return, Hermione quickly stood up. She was about to explain something loudly but saw Madam Pince giving her a disapproving look not far away. She immediately lowered her voice and said to Sean, "I, I'm sorry. I was sitting here too, and I happened to see your name on the homework, so I instinctively sat down and took a look at it.
I was a little curious about the quality of your homework, so..."
Looking at the blushing Hermione, Sean smiled indifferently and shook his head. He then nodded slightly to Madam Pince to apologise and only then said to Hermione in a low voice, "It's alright. If you want to keep looking, you can. It's just some homework, nothing confidential."
Nodding, Hermione looked at Sean, wanting to say something but not knowing where to start.
Sean sat down in his seat and didn't say much. He just continued with his studies, going through the books he had found one by one according to the knowledge he needed to look up.
Seeing that Sean was unaffected and continued studying, Hermione also took a deep breath and began writing her own homework. Every time she finished an assignment, she would pick it up and compare it with Sean's. Slowly, Hermione realised that the direction of Sean's homework seemed the same as hers. He answered the questions assigned by the professor and elaborated on the topics given, but in terms of both depth and breadth, it far exceeded hers. It didn't look like something a first-year student who had just started school could write at all.
Hermione turned her head to look at Sean. At this moment, he was looking down, searching for something and writing. In a trance, Hermione seemed to be inspired. She put aside the homework she had finished, took out parchment again, and started rewriting her homework. After comparing them, the homework that she had originally been quite satisfied with no longer satisfied her.
The sky gradually darkened, and people in the library began to leave one after another. Dinner at Hogwarts had a fixed time. If you were late, you would have to find the kitchens yourself or go hungry. Therefore, many people, even if they were working hard, would not miss dinner time.
When only a little over half of the people were left in the library, Sean also packed up his things and got up. He set aside two books to take out for borrowing and returned the remaining books to Madam Pince.
After packing up his things, Sean looked at Hermione and said, "Granger, are you going to the Great Hall together?"
Hermione instinctively wanted to agree, but she suddenly realised that Sean was from Slytherin, and going together might be a little inconvenient. Therefore, she shook her head slightly and said, "I want to wait a little longer. You go ahead."
"Alright, see you then."
After saying goodbye, Sean took his things and left the library directly, arriving at the Great Hall.
At this time, Blaise was already waiting at the Slytherin table. However, when Sean came to Blaise's side and was about to sit down, he suddenly noticed that Blaise's expression was not good. He was looking at Sean with a worried face.
