"I can't do that," Silas said. "I'm only loyal to my boss. I don't answer to anybody else. And that means I can't let you pass through this door, just yet."
"Don't make me kill you," Zayne warned. "Because I'd kill hundreds for her, and I don't care who."
"I'd like to see you try, Mr. Zayne Mancini."
[Zayne! Zayne, what's going on in there?] Alessio kept asking through the earpiece.
Zayne stared hard at the man in front of him.
He took his coat off, letting it slip to the floor. As he dropped his hands to his sides, Silas frowned, wondering what he was trying to do.
Slowly, he watched the man's fingernails elongate into…claws.
"What the…fuck?"
"I warned you. You humans just don't ever listen."
Silas took a step back, watching as he flexed them. He dragged his gaze back to his face and the green of his eyes was gone. Instead, they'd been pooled over by a golden colour, one that sent so much shivers down his body, enough he tried to reach for the handle of the door.
