Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Echoes of Infinity

Years passed in the Dimensional Gap since Ophis left Great Red.

Ophis spent her time planning revenge on Great Red for the loss of their egg. Great Red waited as he gazed through the dreams of human couples.

Great Red extended his senses across the mortal realm, sifting through the dreamscapes of countless souls. As the Dragon of Dreams, he could peer into hearts and minds with ease, seeking the perfect vessel for his child's hatching.

Beside him, the egg hovered in stasis. Its crimson obsidian shell pulsed faintly, a beacon of infinite potential, waiting for the right home.

First, he dipped into the dreams of a wealthy couple in Tokyo. Visions full of luxury yachts, endless parties, and shallow ambition swallowed by greed. "Nah," Great Red rumbled with a Draconic snort. "Too flashy. The kid would grow up spoiled rotten with them and would never awaken his drive as a dragon."

Next, a pair of scholars in Kyoto, their minds filled with books, debates, and quiet nights. "Boring," He grumbled. "All brains, no fire. What's the point of studying strategy if there is no passion? Where is their drive, their fire? The kids need someone with spark. Something to fuel his dragon blood."

He chuckled lowly as he stumbled upon a young duo in Osaka, their dreams a whirlwind of wild, ecchi escapades involving costumes, role-play, and enough oppai obsessions. To even catch his eye. "Hah! Now they've got spirit, pervy as hell. But too chaotic. No stability, they raised the kid into a delinquent."

His gaze finally settled on Miki and Gorou Hyoudou in the small town of Kuoh. Their dreams unfolded like a warm tapestry filled with tender intimacy laced with genuine passion. Laughter filled their bathroom as they entwined in a loving embrace. Yes, they were horny visions of stolen moments and playful desires, but grounded in pure affection. He could feel their deep yearning for family that shone through the heartache of lost pregnancies. Gorou dreamed of teaching a son to fish; Miki of cradling him close with lullabies. There was no greed, no malice, only pure, honest human warmth.

"Perfect," Great Red growled approvingly, his maw curving into a grin. "They've got heart, fire, and that pervy edge to keep things interesting. The kid would fit right in, grow up strong, with a taste for adventure."

With the decision made, Great Red turned his attention to the egg. He extended a massive claw, channeling his apocalyptic dreams into a swirling vortex of crimson energy. The outer shell shimmered, its surface rippled like liquid fire as he wove illusions of humanity around it. Layer by layer, the colossal egg condensed obsidian veins folded inward, the infinite essence compressed into a tiny glowing embryo. It was no mere shrinking; he infused it with dream-webs to mask the draconic aura, ensuring it would integrate seamlessly into a human womb, hatching as a boy with latent power buried deep. "There ya go, kid," he murmured, guiding the embryo through a pinpoint rift. "Time to join the party down there."

The spark slipped into Miki's womb like a divine whisper. She felt something stir inside her after Gorou finished praying at the local shrine. Their knees pressed to the deep, weathered tatami mats as they prayed like they always did to the kami for a child. Their voices were fervent pleas. They only wanted to mend the scars of repeated heartbreak after three miscarriages had stolen their joy time and again.

Gorou squeezed Miki's hand as they walked, his calloused fingers from years of carpentry work intertwining with her softer ones. "The gods will hear us one day," he said, his voice steady but laced with the weariness of hope deferred. Miki nodded, her eyes misty, leaning into him. She was a gentle soul, a homemaker with a heart full of unspent love, and Gorou her rock, practical, devoted, with a quiet humor that lightened their burdens.

Gorou, beside her, smiled as he dreamed of having a lively son growing up in their home.

Years later, Issei Hyoudou grew up in a loving household under the watchful and doting eyes of Gorou and Miki. They often marveled at him not just because he was their first child, but because he thrived.

From the day he opened his eyes and whispered, "boobs… are amazing," they knew this child was no ordinary human.

Yet he was also a child of laughter, mischief, and love. He tumbled through life with boundless energy, never aware of the primal, ancient power coiling deep within him.

He loved girls. He dreamed of being a Harem King. He even practiced "heroic poses" in front of the mirror, convincing himself that someday, the universe would reward his perverted courage.

Gorou and Miki had long since stopped worrying about what he would become; they had chosen to love him as he was.

"He's our little miracle," Miki whispered, brushing hair from his forehead as he dozed off after yet another exhausting day chasing skirts and trouble.

"Every day he lives, every smile… it feels like the gods finally answered our prayers."

Gorou, ever practical, shook his head but smiled. "And he's a headache too, but that's life, isn't it?"

Even they could not guess the latent chaos sleeping inside him.

The Parents' Miracle

Every night, after he fell asleep or when he got stuck trying to train his "heroic" moves in the garden, Gorou and Miki would sit together, hands clasped, hearts full.

"I never thought we'd see him grow," Gorou said softly, watching Issei sleep, his small chest rising and falling.

"Three miscarriages… three times the world refused us. And now…"

Miki nodded, tears shining but not falling. "He's everything we ever wanted. Everything we prayed for. Our child… our miracle."

The two shared a quiet moment, free from laughter or chaos. Here, in the ordinary warmth of home, the ancient tragedy of the Dimensional Gap felt worlds away.

"Even miracles cast shadows across eternity.

Ophis Watches, Unknown

Far from this human warmth, Ophis continued her preparations.

Her snakes slithered through dimensions, gathering intelligence, spreading fear, and extending her will across realms. The Khaos Brigade grew as an extension of her silence, its members loyal, fanatical, or ignorant of the primordial predator guiding them.

She didn't know her child was alive.

She didn't know he walked the world as a human boy.

But sooner or later, the ripples would reach her.

And silence would follow.
