Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: First Soul Skill, Bone Dragon Undead Thorns

Gu Feng swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing as he tried to keep his voice low. "Old Yi, can you just scare that Ice Jade Scorpion away?"

Electrolux's aged voice echoed in the spiritual sea. "Why? Why not just kill it?"

"Old Yi, this thing has a powerful backer."

"How powerful?"

"At least three or four stories high!"

"That is a bit troublesome..."

Gu Feng didn't want to give up on the Soul Beast in front of him.

He could only silently pray in his heart, hoping that the Ice Emperor wasn't home.

Otherwise, if he accidentally hurt one of her kin, wouldn't she chase him down several streets?

But the real trouble wasn't just the Ice Emperor—it was the fear of provoking the Snow Emperor as well.

That would be a disaster.

Even though Electrolux was incredibly powerful, he was still just an incomplete soul at this point. Going up against a top-tier Soul Beast like the Snow Emperor would be extremely difficult.

Electrolux let out a heavy sigh. "Ah, truly, a tiger fallen to the plains is bullied by dogs... If only my soul power could recover a bit more, a mere scorpion would be nothing!"

"Old Yi, let's do it!"

With that, Gu Feng took a deep breath and quickly emptied his mind.

God-level Soul Skill, Spirit Possession!

In the next second, as Electrolux merged into Gu Feng's body, the aura around him shifted dramatically. The once calm and composed presence was completely overturned.

A strange gray mist began to swirl around Gu Feng, churning endlessly, exuding a mysterious and overwhelming pressure, as if a demon god had descended.

It was entirely different from the Undead Power Gu Feng himself emitted.

If Gu Feng's Undead Power could be compared to a small stream trickling through the mountains, then Electrolux's Undead Power was like a vast, boundless ocean, capable of devouring everything in its path.

Gu Feng strode directly toward the Ice Jade Scorpion.

"Hiss—"

Seeing a human approach, the Ice Jade Scorpion waved its pincers and let out a warning hiss, trying to intimidate Gu Feng.

However, Gu Feng stood firm in the icy wilderness, unmoved by the howling wind. In his hand, an Undead Staff slowly materialized, its surface shimmering with an eerie light.

A piercing golden light flashed in Gu Feng's dark eyes, as if it were a tangible force, radiating immense pressure.

With a cold shout that echoed like thunder across the frozen landscape, he declared, "Little scorpion, if you know what's good for you, scram now. Otherwise, don't blame me for taking action!"

In an instant, the aura around him surged, and the phantom of the Necromantic Saint Magic God manifested.

In that moment, the entire world seemed to be enveloped by this overwhelming presence. The falling snowflakes froze mid-air before slowly reversing their descent.

The Undead Saint Magic Body stood several meters tall, surrounded by a dense gray mist. Within the mist, countless wailing spirits could be faintly seen, sending chills down one's spine.

Feeling this terrifying aura, the Ice Jade Scorpion's massive body trembled uncontrollably, and its raised pincers drooped slightly.

The Soul Beast's instincts screamed at it.

If it didn't run now, it might end up as an amber specimen!

The Ice Jade Scorpion's eyes no longer held their previous ferocity, replaced instead by deep fear. It dropped the small, violet creature it was holding and began to scuttle away in panic, its massive body moving with surprising speed.

It was almost a blur, hard to imagine that a scorpion could move as fast as a leopard.

The Hell Icefang Dragon, which had been thrown down by it, was also trembling all over under this oppressive aura.

Finally, unable to withstand the immense pressure, the Hell Icefang Dragon's eyes rolled back, and it fainted from sheer terror.

Seeing this, Gu Feng dispersed the phantom of the Necromantic Saint Magic God, his face pale and exhausted as he said, "Little Fengzi, quickly absorb it. I need to rest properly now."

As soon as he finished speaking, the Undead Power surrounding Gu Feng instantly dissipated, and the faint golden light in his eyes quickly faded.

Gu Feng slowly opened his eyes, his true self fully returned.

He looked at the unconscious Hell Icefang Dragon in his hand and said with deep gratitude, "Old Yi, thank you!"

However, the only response was the howling wind. There was not a sound from the Soul Guidance Ring, as if Electrolux had fallen into a deep, silent slumber.

Gu Feng dragged the unconscious Hell Icefang Dragon into the cave, finding a safe spot.

Then, he activated Bone Dragon Possession, extended his Bone Claw, and with a forceful thrust, pierced its heart. Warm blood gushed out as a deep yellow Soul Ring slowly emerged.

Gu Feng slightly furrowed his brows.

Judging by the color, this Soul Ring was at least six hundred years old.

However, Gu Feng didn't dwell on it too much.

Although the Hell Icefang Dragon's age likely exceeded the norm by a hundred or two hundred years, for him, it didn't make much of a difference.

Recalling the past few years, in order to temper his body and solidify his foundation, he had consumed dragon meat daily and drank medicinal soups brewed with dragon blood, relentlessly training day after day.

If he couldn't even absorb a Soul Ring of this age, wouldn't all the foundation he had built over the years be for nothing?

Moreover, the Bone Dragon Spirit's enhancement of his body was not insignificant.

"Come! My first Soul Ring!"

Gu Feng sat cross-legged, took a deep breath, and looked expectantly at the Soul Ring before him. He then channeled his Soul Power, guiding the Hell Icefang Dragon's Soul Ring to merge with his own.

In an instant, a powerful and violent energy surged wildly within him, as if it was about to burst his meridians.

Gu Feng clenched his teeth, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead. He fully activated his Bone Dragon Spirit, attempting to tame the Soul Ring, but the energy of the Soul Ring was like a runaway bull, rampaging through his body.

The pain was so intense that Gu Feng's vision blurred, and every inch of his meridians felt as if they were being struck by a heavy hammer.

As time passed, Gu Feng's consciousness began to fade amidst the pain, and his breathing became rapid and labored.

At this critical moment, Gu Feng suddenly remembered what Electrolux had once said: to resonate with the power itself and follow its flow, only then could one truly control it.

Forcing his scattered consciousness to focus, he abandoned the idea of forcefully subduing the energy. Instead, he calmed his mind, slowed the rhythm of his Martial Soul's operation, and tried to sense the fluctuations of the energy, allowing the power of the Bone Dragon Spirit to gradually synchronize with the frequency of the Soul Ring's energy.

This change had an immediate effect. The once violent energy no longer rampaged uncontrollably but began to show signs of being guided.

Overjoyed, Gu Feng clenched his teeth and concentrated on guiding the energy to flow slowly through his meridians.

Every inch of progress felt like dragging a mountain, and his physical and mental strength were rapidly depleted.

After what felt like an eternity, Gu Feng finally integrated the last trace of the Soul Ring's energy into himself.

"Phew—"

Gu Feng lay back on the snowy ground, utterly exhausted, gasping for breath.

At this moment, he could clearly feel that his meridians had become more resilient, and his Soul Power had undergone a qualitative leap. The first Soul Ring hovered steadily around him, emitting a deep yellow glow.

And now, his Soul Power had reached level 14!

After taking a moment to recover, Gu Feng stood up again, the hundred-year Soul Ring beneath him glowing as he reached out toward the corpse of the Hell Icefang Dragon in the distance.

"First Soul Skill, Bone Dragon Undead Thorns!"

In front of him, the phantom image of a Bone Dragon appeared on the ground, only to vanish in an instant.

Immediately after, countless towering bone thorns materialized out of thin air, swiftly enveloping the area ahead along with the Hell Icefang Dragon.

The bone thorns did not stop there. The moment they touched the Hell Icefang Dragon, they rapidly converged, piercing through the dragon's heart in the blink of an eye.

But it wasn't over yet.

Gu Feng clenched his fist tightly, and the previously converged bone thorns quickly separated, transforming into a dense array of small spikes that plunged into the ground with lightning speed.

Waves of grayish ice mist surged from the ground like a raging tide, filling the entire space. Not only did it obscure vision, but it also carried a bone-chilling cold and a pervasive aura of decay.

At that very moment, a ten-year Ice Silkworm that had been parasitizing the Hell Icefang Dragon just poked its head out. Before it could react, it was instantly immobilized by this Undead Power, meeting its end on the spot.

Looking at the scene before him, Gu Feng's face lit up with joy. As expected of a Soul Skill derived from a top-tier Soul Beast.

It was truly domineering, with not just one but two attack methods!

However, before Gu Feng could revel in his triumph for long.

A stern and commanding female voice suddenly echoed through the heavens and earth:

"Who dares to invade the territory of my Ice Jade Scorpion clan?"
