Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Library

Lin Shuyao sat cross legged on the dusty floor, eyeing the spider crawling along the hay.

'So in short, I transmigated to ancient times, everyone— alright most of the village hate me, this body is on the verge of breaking, and I'm poor!' She looks around her stable like cottage, 'Yea....dirt poor...' She slumped against the hay wall and cried, 'Can this get any worse!? I said that I'd cherish this life but...how?'

She took a shaky breath and looked up at the crooked roof, her vision blurring slightly from the pain in her temples.

"I can't possibly be this miserable, right?" she muttered, forcing a wry smile. "If transmigration is real, then superpowers must be possible too!"

Her eyes narrowed, locking onto the one unfortunate creature in her line of sight — the spider who didn't have any idea that the human in the room, which it doesn't give a damn about, is preparing for his funeral.

She raised her trembling hand with dramatic flair, trying to summon… something. Anything.

"I command you—DIE!"

She held her breath.

The air was still.

The spider didn't even twitch....

Well. That was disappointing.

She dropped her hand with a sigh, flopping back onto the dirty floor. "Of course nothing happened. Why would it?" she grumbled, watching the spider slowly moving, as if it's mocking her. "Figures the only one living peacefully in this place is a damn insect."

As soon as she closed her eyes to cry in misery, a sudden warmth spread across her chest. It was weirdly comforting. Her eyes snapped open....and...the cottage was....gone..and before herself....is a..library?

Lin Shuyao stood frozen, her feet planted on an ivory floor. All around her stretched an impossibly massive hall — no, a realm — of books.

The towering shelves were painted a deep, elegant brown, their surfaces smooth and slightly warm to the touch.

The shelves were systematically arranged in sections— history, medicine, farming, and more.

"My cheat is library!"
