Chapter 6: Team 9 is Established, Each with Different Thoughts
"Naruto! You bastard, I'll kill you!!"
Sasuke pushed Naruto away with all his might, turned his head to the side, and began to dry heave. His entire body went on a rampage.
Naruto also leaned the other way and retched, yelling, "Ugh! My mouth is going to rot!"
"Uh, yes... it's my fault!" The boy at the front desk was at a loss when he saw the scene.
But soon, a group of girls who had witnessed their prince charming's first kiss being stolen surrounded Naruto with murderous intent.
The following scene was so horrific that Takashi Mori couldn't bear to watch it directly.
With awe in his heart, Takashi Mori found an empty seat far away from the battlefield and sat down.
"Taka... Takashi-kun!" a soft, sticky voice sounded beside him.
Takashi Mori turned his head and was slightly stunned.
His attention had been completely focused on Naruto and Sasuke just now, and he had accidentally sat next to Hinata.
At that moment, Hinata looked just like she did when she saw Naruto in the original story—her face flushed, and she nervously rubbed the corners of her clothes with her small hands.
"Hinata-chan, good morning!" Takashi Mori smiled and nodded at her, then quickly looked away to avoid putting too much pressure on her.
That warm smile left Hinata dazed for a moment, and her tension eased considerably.
"Let's do our best today... Takashi-kun!" Hinata said softly.
Takashi Mori continued smiling and nodded. "You should work hard too!"
Hinata smiled and thought to herself: Takashi-kun is so gentle. I never noticed it before.
Meanwhile, Naruto, who had publicly stolen Sasuke's first kiss, had been beaten into a pig's head by the girls in class.
The terrifying sight helped reduce Sasuke's fury.
"Hmph, you huge idiot!" Sasuke scoffed and turned his head toward the window.
Soon after, the homeroom teacher, Iruka, arrived, gave a short encouraging speech, and began assigning the teams.
"...Team 7: Haruno Sakura, Uzumaki Naruto—"
"So cool!" Naruto raised his hands and cheered happily, while Sakura, beside him, hung her head in disappointment.
"—and Uchiha Sasuke!"
"That's great!" Sakura cheered, raising her hands, while Naruto, beside her, hung his head in frustration.
"Team 8: Hyuga Hinata, Inuzuka Kiba, Aburame Shino."
What a pity...
Hinata's eyes dimmed slightly. She looked at Naruto, then subconsciously glanced at Takashi Mori beside her.
"Team 9: Chisame, Takashi Mori, Ryota."
Takashi Mori glanced around the classroom and quickly identified his two teammates.
Chisame was the only one in their team with a surname, but she seemed like an ordinary civilian girl.
Her appearance couldn't compare to the four beauties of Konohagakure and could only be considered above average. She resembled Gaara's disciple, Matsuri, a bit.
Despite her young age, she had a notably curvy figure.
Ryota seemed like a timid guy, and his presence in class was even lower than Takashi Mori's.
Among the three, Chisame's theoretical knowledge was average, and her practical ability was below average. Takashi Mori's overall level was average, and Ryota was just slightly better than the lowest-ranking student.
So, Iruka's claim that the squads were balanced in strength was nonsense.
"Team 10: Yamanaka Ino, Nara Shikamaru, Akimichi Choji!"
Sakura secretly flashed a victory sign at Ino, causing Ino to grit her teeth in frustration.
But in truth, after watching the future video, Ino no longer doubted her two teammates. She simply couldn't stand Sakura's smug expression.
Everyone remained in the classroom for a while as the Jonin team leaders arrived one by one to collect their teams.
"I'm Endo Daisho, from Team 9. Chisame, Takashi Mori, Ryota—follow me!"
A square-faced man in his thirties appeared at the classroom door. At first glance, he looked like a background character.
Chisame and Ryota followed with great interest, full of expectations for the future.
Takashi Mori greeted Hinata and followed them.
These minor characters were destined to be excluded from the main storyline.
Fortunately, Takashi Mori had his golden finger, allowing him to interfere with the plot.
Still, in the early stages, he had to work hard to improve his strength.
Now that he had obtained the Sharingan, his next goal was to acquire another ability.
Although the future video didn't clearly show what that ability was, Takashi Mori had already left himself a clue. Hopefully, the system hadn't assigned the power elsewhere.
Team 9's leader, Jonin Endo Daisho, took Takashi Mori and the others to a training ground.
"First, I want to tell you something," Endo Daisho said, getting straight to the point. "Next, I'll conduct a practical test. The difficulty will be extremely high for you."
Seeing his serious expression, both Chisame and Ryota swallowed nervously.
Endo Daisho continued calmly, "Among the twenty-seven graduates, only nine will be officially recognized as Genin. The rest will be sent back to the academy for further training."
"In other words, this assessment is an elimination test—with an elimination rate of 66.7%. Be mentally prepared."
"If you don't approach this with the determination to kill me, you won't stand a chance."
"I'll give you half an hour to rest and prepare. After that, the test begins. The content is simple: the three of you against me."
He then took out an alarm clock, set it, and placed it on a nearby rock.
Finding a clean spot, he sat down and closed his eyes to rest.
"Are you kidding me?" Ryota said, legs trembling. "We just graduated, and now there's an elimination test? How are we supposed to beat a Jonin? Aren't we just doomed to fail?"
Chisame was relatively calm. She thought for a moment, then said to Ryota and Takashi Mori, "It's not completely hopeless. Endo Daisho-sensei said nine people will pass."
"But seriously, do you think any of those nine spots will be ours?" Ryota squatted down, clutching his head in despair.
Not only was he ranked near the bottom, but Chisame and Takashi Mori weren't even in the top ten.
How could they compete with the elite?
Chisame encouraged them, "If you give up now, you're guaranteed to fail. Are you really okay with that? At least it's three-on-one right now!"
"Since the assessment is unavoidable, why not try our best? Maybe we'll get lucky. We need to think about how to maximize the strength of our team."
Takashi Mori looked at Chisame in surprise, then nodded in agreement.
Even without his golden finger, in a situation where failure seemed certain, he had to fight—if only to prove that he truly existed in this world.
Giving up without trying was nothing but cowardice.
Although Ryota still doubted they had a chance, he agreed with Chisame's reasoning and forced himself to focus on planning their strategy.
What Takashi Mori and Ryota didn't know was that Chisame was secretly sneering in her heart.
With their current strength, no matter how hard they struggled, the likelihood of passing was slim.
But if they worked together well enough, one of them might scrape through by sheer luck.
And that one—she intended it to be herself.
To that end, she encouraged Takashi Mori and Ryota, pushing them to take the lead in fighting Endo Daisho.
Then, at the right moment, she could hide and strike from the shadows—seizing her opportunity to succeed.
End of Chapter.
