Chapter 108 - Chapter 108: She’s Determined

Fu Ziyang gently tugged at the man's sleeve, a trace of grievance in his eyes.

"Besides, you two idlers—what urgent matters could you possibly have?"

"Ziyang, could it be that you've stirred up trouble again and don't dare ask your father for money?"

"So now you're begging Fu Liangmu to get some cash from his dad?"

Fu Ziyang's face was etched with silent exasperation. Was he really that useless?

Fu Liangmu furrowed his brow, glanced at the time, and, unwilling to waste words, seized the man's collar.

Despite standing a full 1.85 meters tall, the man was effortlessly hoisted and thrown back, staggering. The documents in his hand cascaded to the floor in a chaotic scatter.

The man struggled to steady himself, glaring fiercely as he attempted to charge forward—only to see the elevator doors slowly closing.

His foot paused just in time. But before he could react, Fu Liangmu's hand suddenly shot out from the elevator and yanked his collar once more.

Caught off guard, the man stumbled forward uncontrollably.

Bang!

The entire scene unfolded with brutal suddenness.

Fu Ziyang watched dumbfounded on the sidelines. Even the elevator doors failed to sense in time, clamping down sharply on the man's head.

The doors trembled, then slowly reopened.

Waiting for him was Fu Liangmu's merciless kick.

With a sharp thud, the man was thrown to the ground, landing hard on his backside.

In an instant, every ounce of dignity vanished without a trace.

His chest heaved violently with rage, barely able to draw breath.

Meanwhile, the first-floor lobby bustled with clients and employees, who witnessed the entire episode and struggled to suppress their laughter.

"Fu Liangmu!" the man snarled furiously, clutching a document at his side as if he wished to crush it to dust.

Nearby staff snickered quietly and kept their distance.

"Director Han sure took a nasty fall."

"Well, he brought it on himself by provoking the Young Master. Back when the Young Master was still with the company, he was always running errands for him."

"But ever since the Young Master had to leave after the fire incident, Director Han has become completely unruly in the office!"

"Now, whenever those two meet, it's nothing but constant bickering!"

As the elevator ascended slowly, Fu Ziyang felt an overwhelming pressure, struggling even to breathe. He had never realized the twenty-fourth floor felt so high.

"Big Brother… please don't be angry…"

Fu Liangmu's expression remained impassive, neither pleased nor displeased, but the calmness only made Fu Ziyang more uneasy.

Finally, the elevator doors opened. Fu Ziyang slipped out immediately, retreating to Vice President Cheng's office where, after greeting him, he shrank into a corner.

Fu Liangmu naturally took a seat beside Su Wanwan.

Fu Cheng, a little surprised, asked,

"Weren't you supposed to never come back to the company? What brings you here all of a sudden?"

Since Fu Liangmu's disfigurement, his dedication to the Fu Group had waned considerably. He gradually stopped showing up, handing over good opportunities to others. At first, Fu Cheng tried hard to persuade him, insisting that securing the inheritance was paramount. Yet the son only grew more reckless, with swirling rumors driving away those once close to him.

"Weren't you going to arrange a position for Wanwan?"

The implication was clear: if not for Su Wanwan, Fu Liangmu wouldn't have bothered with this broken place.

Fu Cheng nodded inwardly, thinking: Surely you know whether your wife is capable or not.

"Wanwan, what I said earlier was actually for your own good..."

Fu Liangmu interrupted, turning to ask Su Wanwan,

"Do you plan to stay here or at a branch office?"

Su Wanwan met his gaze, momentarily uncertain of his mood.

"Here."

Fu Cheng hesitated, wanting to say more.

Fu Liangmu pressed on,

"What position do you want?"

Su Wanwan lowered her eyes, her long lashes veiling the slyness beneath.

"Design Director."

"Pfft! cough cough!"

Fu Ziyang, who had been invisible in the corner, choked violently on his drink. Even Fu Cheng's expression darkened.

"That's possible."

"Possible, my foot!"

Fu Cheng ground his teeth,

"Do you think you're the heir? Don't you know the Design Director seat belongs to Fu Jinghan?"

Fu Liangmu said coldly,

"I don't care who's in that seat—give it to Wanwan."

Fu Cheng trembled, pointing a finger at him, nearly calling him a rebellious son. It was easy for him to say, but things weren't that simple.

"Su Wanwan has no experience. Sitting in that position right away means she won't be able to hold it!"

"If she lacks the strength, she'll only be a laughingstock!"

Even Fu Ziyang, who had silently supported Su Wanwan all along, spoke up.

"That's right, sis-in-law, you should start from the bottom."

"Or you can go to a family branch company. By then, forget being a director—you could easily become president. Just go have fun!"

Fu Cheng nodded. That was exactly his point. At a branch office, she could do as she pleased—even if it failed, it didn't matter. But this was the head office, not a place for Su Wanwan to act recklessly!

"Su Wanwan, I hope you'll seriously consider this."

Suddenly, Fu Cheng's attitude toward Su Wanwan changed.

"No need to consider."

"That position—I'm claiming it."

Su Wanwan stood. Fu Liangmu followed her lead.

Seeing the situation turn grim, Fu Ziyang hurried to catch up.

Just as Su Wanwan stepped out of the office, Fu Jinghan emerged from the elevator, casting her a look of pure disdain.

"So, have you secured the position you wanted?"

Fu Liangmu appeared from behind, surprised by Fu Jinghan's question as he glanced at Su Wanwan, silently asking why the two were connected.

Su Wanwan thought for a moment, then said something perfectly fitting:

"A person who manages to derive superiority just from riding an elevator."

Fu Jinghan was speechless.

Fu Ziyang scratched his head awkwardly.

"Second Brother, you know my sister-in-law?"

"Sister-in-law?"

Fu Jinghan paused, having heard Fu Liangmu was married but never met her. At Chen Shuang's birthday banquet, he even found an excuse not to attend.

"Truly proves that those not of the same family don't enter the same door."

"Annoying people really do attract each other."

Fu Liangmu pulled Su Wanwan into his embrace, treating Fu Jinghan like a ghost as he responded to Su Wanwan's remark.

"In that case, let's tear down this damn elevator."

Fu Jinghan's chest tightened.

"You dare?"

"Watch me."

In an instant, Fu Ziyang caught a faint scent of something burning.

Two hours later, Fu Liangmu led a crew of workers swiftly dismantling the elevator.

News of this incident eventually reached the elder patriarch of the Fu family.

That very evening, everyone was summoned to dine at the ancestral home.
