When i opened my eyes, Ophelia was still sleeping,
When i tried to get up, he opened his eyes,
I asked him,
"Up already ? "
"No, it's still daylight, let me sleep here",
He slowly close his eyes and goes back to sleep.
Sleep during daylight, awake during night time, that's what a vampire should do,
I get up, close the door gently, and get down to the living room.
Carson was waiting for me, he smiled at me warmly ,
"Did you sleep well? "
"I did", i answered with a low voice,
"Well good, i saw Ophelia coming to your room, is he still sleeping? "
"Yes, but it's daylight, should you be sleeping? ".
He told me to sit down to chat a little bit,
"He's very delicate , you know",
"Ive noticed it",
"His ability to read others mind makes him suffer so much, i want him to sleep as much as he can"
"....Same here",
I looked at his eyes, his red eyes were turning purple,
"Are you hungry?" I asked
"A little " ,
They're eyes turned purple if they are hungry, and hell i don't know how i know that.
"Come" I give him my wrist, he looked at me, as if he thinks I'm strange,
"No, Dorothy, my younger brothers need it more than i do, i vowed, not to drink your blood, long ago, don't you remember? ".
He just held my hands gently,
"I want you to stay healthy, your blood is needed by all your brother's except me"
"Why, them, but not you? "
"I told you, you're just you, and there are 5 of us, brother Lorris might be able to held back too, but the others, they're just too young, with our mother not here, they need you",
"Okay....." I'm starting to understand.
Before they reached 150 years, they need their mother's blood,
Just like humans need their mother's milk, so, instead of their mother, they drink my blood instead.
I come to realize many things,
Things they didn't tell me, strange,
Things i never knew before, how in the world did i know this???
But, well then, if my brothers need me, I'll be there for them.
Carson told me, that it's his responsibility to take care of us,
He is so reliable,
He said, he will protect us from anything no matter what,
That's when he showed me his ability to create a shield,
He create a shield around the house,to protect it from the outside world, so that's why there are many rumors and myths about this mansion.
"I want you to remember something", he said,
" What is? "
"Danny and you are connected "
"How? ", i asked with confused eyes,
"You'll figure it out, he was always beside you, he always wanted to bring you back here, but he wants you to take your time and make decisions by yourself"
"Now that i think of it, i remember, i use to saw him near the river".
" Yes , he was always there for you , he just can't reach to you , anyway now is not the best time, i need to sleep, the sun is still out, you need to rest too",then he leaves.
My brothers were all asleep, i sit on the couch thinking about everything I've been through.
Even though I've only been here for 1 day,
I feel so safe ,
Is this love? could it be? I know nothing. I sat silent for a couple of minutes,
I heard some footsteps , Danny was smiling at me, he was still holding his doll, or should i say teddy bear?
"Dorothy, I'm thirsty",
"Right now? ",
"Yes", he nods his head,
"Hungry and thirsty means the same thing to you right? "
"No, when I'm hungry, i need your blood, when I'm thirsty i need water" He smiles gently .
He held my hand again and we walk inside the dining room,
Well, he must really liked holding hands.
I took some water for him, and let him drink,
He is just like a baby, but how come he's already 115,and we're even twins, and it seems like our heights match too .
And after drinking the water ,
"Dorothy",
He looked into my eyes,
"What is it, Danny? ",
"Look at my eyes",
I looked at his eyes, and saw his eyes turning purple,
I took a deep breath , and hug him, while he drinks my blood from my neck, i don't know why, but when he drinks my blood, i feel no pain, it's different from Ophelia and Edward.
When he's done, i somehow felt dizzy,
He's just a little boy but he lift me up so easily and carried me upstairs.
He lets me sleep in his bed since Ophelia was still in my bed,
I was so tired, but as he stares at me,
"Why didn't it hurt? " I asked,
He was a little confused but soon realize what I'm saying,
He smiles, put down his doll,
And started healing my wounds,
I feel so much better now, there weren't even scars,
"I will protect you", he said,
"So that's why it never hurts", I'm relieved.
"Dorothy, i can heal your wounds, and take your pain away, but i can't heal your heart",
He looks sad,
"Don't worry Danny, I'm happy when I'm here, I'll be here in mother's place"
I don't even know what i was saying, nor do i know why i said that.
"Tell me a little bout yourself" I asked,
"There's not much to say, but if you want ,you can ask me anything" after i think of what to ask,
"You could've healed me already, when you saved me from the river"
"Yes , i can, "
"But, you didn't, why? "
"It would just startled you, so i kept an eye on you, i followed you, like i always did"
"Since when? "
"As long as i can remember, i was always watching you, even when you were about to die, i saved you, but i don't want you to be too confused, so i didn't heal all your pain and just healed you enough not to die"
"Now, i know, why i can't die, even when i ate everything i saw,even when I'm all beaten up....it was all you, thank you, Danny".
Peacefullly, i slowly fell asleep.
