Chapter 124 - Chapter 124 : "Arrival of the Inquisitor"

Kenthelion could tell that Soichiro Takagi was growing irritated. That arrogant, self-important attitude—it screamed superiority complex. The type of man who believed his status put him above others. Kenthelion decided it was time to stir things up a bit.

"It was just a greeting. Maybe he's just too weak to take it like a man," Kenthelion said coldly, dismissively, without even sparing a glance at that virgin bastard, Takashi Komuro.

Their eyes met. Soichiro Takagi stared at Kenthelion, and Kenthelion calmly stared back.

Soichiro thought to himself, How absurd. That tone... those words... calling a physical assault a 'greeting'?

"I've known Takashi since he was a child. He and my daughter grew up together. I understand him better than you ever could," Soichiro said sternly. "I suggest you learn to carry yourself with more discipline."

Kenthelion couldn't be bothered to respond. People like this—rigid, self-righteous types who thought they stood above others—weren't worth the breath.

Soichiro gave a few more instructions to Komuro and the others before walking off. But Komuro lingered, perhaps to keep an eye on things.

Takagi Saya invited Kenthelion and his group to dine at her family home. Despite the world outside falling into chaos, this small dining room still held the warmth of a family meal.

Kenthelion followed Saya into the room, his gaze briefly shifting toward Saeko Busujima, who sat gracefully near him. A thought crossed his mind.

> "I need to tell her... but just a little. If I say too much, she might not be able to handle it."

Leaning closer, he whispered.

"My troops will arrive soon."

Saeko raised an eyebrow. "Troops? I thought you meant subordinates?"

"Subordinates are troops," Kenthelion replied calmly.

"How many troops are we talking about?" she asked, curious.

Kenthelion paused. It wasn't that he was unwilling to tell her, but the timing was off. They were still in the Takagi family home—too much information might cause unnecessary fear.

> "Better not scare the hosts with the full story," he thought.

"More than a hundred thousand," he finally said.

What he didn't say was that over four million personnel were stationed aboard his Gloriana-class warship. Already, 1.5 million had been deployed to America, and another 1.5 million to Europe.

"Most of them are new recruits, but a number of veterans are accompanying them. They'll be arriving soon."

"They're coming now?" Saeko's eyes widened slightly. "Where are we going next?"

"Haneda Airport—Tokyo International Airport. It's situated between the sea and the land. An ideal location for a military base."

"Haneda Airport, surrounded by water... a good spot, strategic." Saeko nodded thoughtfully.

> (Note: In this fanfiction universe, Haneda Airport is relocated to a coastal edge rather than its original city-center location.)

"Alright then, let's eat," Kenthelion said as he gently took Saeko's hand and called out to Shizuka Marikawa, who was playing with young Alice nearby.

"Everyone, please help yourselves." As Saya, the host, gave her blessing, Kenthelion's group began to eat.

Shizuka Marikawa dove into the food laid out on the table, munching like an excited child, with Alice sitting happily beside her.

The peaceful dinner didn't last long—suddenly, the sky outside was engulfed in a blinding white light. Everything turned a stark, unnatural white.

Kenthelion immediately recognized it.

> "An EMP bomb? But... we've already secured the nuclear facilities. Why is the story still following the original timeline?"

Outside, a sudden electromagnetic pulse explosion lit up the sky in a blinding white flash. But Kenthelion didn't even flinch.

He didn't care. EMP blasts? Not a problem.

Modern electronic devices—vehicles, phones, comm systems—sure, they'd be fried. But his war machines were different.

This was Warhammer tech.

EMP-resistant, battle-tested on planets far worse than Earth. Astra Militarum vehicles didn't rely on fragile modern circuitry. Most of their systems used analog tech, vacuum tubes, or semi-mechanical components—far from the vulnerable digital computers of this age.

Even if the power was completely knocked out, their tanks and weapons could still function manually.

Take the Leman Russ, for example—multiple backup systems. If one navigation module failed, they'd just switch to optics or manual instruments. Communication systems? Shielded, redundant, radiation-hardened. Targeting mechanisms were often mechanical and stacked with fail-safes.

And then there were the machine spirits—semi-sentient spiritual AIs that could bypass logic disruptions like EMP interference entirely.

Astra Militarum troops were trained for combat under nuclear storms, electromagnetic pulses, ion tempests, and even warp anomalies.

To Kenthelion, this Earth-based EMP blast was a minor inconvenience.

---

"What was that explosion?" Saeko looked up, frowning.

"The sky… it's so white..." Shizuka whispered.

"I-I'm scared..." little Alice whimpered, clinging to Kenthelion as the rumble echoed outside.

Kenthelion pulled her close and gently stroked her head.

"It's just an EMP bomb, little Alice. It won't affect us," he said softly.

"Really, big brother?" she asked, looking up at him.

"Yes. I promise."

---

After dinner, Kenthelion stood up. The warmth from earlier had faded. He felt it clearly—they weren't truly welcome here. Maybe it was fear. Maybe it was pride. Either way, he had no intention of forcing their protection on anyone.

Without saying another word to the Takagi family, he gathered his group—Saeko, Shizuka, and Alice—and left.

But as they stepped outside the estate, Kenthelion paused.

Their Humvee—the one they'd arrived in—was now completely surrounded by people.

"Move. This is our vehicle."

Kenthelion's voice was calm, yet carried a heavy weight of authority. He stepped forward, approaching the crowd surrounding his Humvee.

"You people from the Middle East, leave the vehicle. Walk away. Now."

Instead of complying, they shouted insults, their expressions defiant, showing no intention of backing off.

Kenthelion glanced around. Takashi Komuro and his group stood nearby, merely watching. Up on the balcony, Soichiro Takagi observed the scene—yet made no move to intervene. Takashi even wore a mocking grin, as if he was enjoying the confrontation.

Kenthelion took a deep breath. If it weren't for his goal to win over the female characters of Highschool of the Dead, he would've long since called an Exterminatus on this place. He forced himself to stay calm, to not unleash his full wrath and massacre everyone in sight.

Without another word, he began walking toward the crowd.

One by one, they fell.

Every punch was precise—brutal, yet controlled. His kicks struck with crushing power, toppling anyone who dared rush him. Saeko Busujima moved in as well, slashing down those who tried to reach Shizuka Marikawa and little Alice.

Shizuka quickly pulled Alice back, hugging her tightly and shielding her behind Saeko.

Less than one minute.

Around 120 people lay on the ground, groaning, defeated but alive.

Kenthelion stood tall at the center of the chaos, without a single drop of blood on him. He didn't kill them—not because he couldn't, but because he chose to hold back. If he hadn't, they would've all been dead in ten seconds... with nothing but his bare hands.

Kenthelion sighed inwardly.

What the hell is this… the protagonist of High School of the Dead now sounds like a third-rate villain.

He couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge Takashi Komuro — that pathetic virgin bastard. Then suddenly, a wicked idea flashed in Kenthelion's mind — he'd take Yuriko Takagi.

A slow, dangerous smirk formed on his lips.

"You're right, Soichiro Takagi. It's impressive that you have this power. You can do whatever you want… but what if I said… I want to take your wife, Yuriko Takagi?"

Soichiro's eyes twitched. The air grew heavy.

Kenthelion looked at both Soichiro and Takashi with undisguised provocation in his gaze.

Soichiro scoffed. "You talk big. But I have power. You don't."

Kenthelion tilted his head back and let out a laugh—cold, confident, and almost demonic.

It was the kind of laugh Uchiha Madara might've released during the Fourth Great Shinobi War.

"You sound just like a Japanese politician… righteous only when it's convenient. If you're going to turn your back, then turn it proudly."

"How do you feel about that, young man?"

"Not so impressive. I'm taking the person and the vehicle."

"Such a pity," he said, waving his hand. People around began closing in, clearly ready to act.

But before they could move, a thunderous roar echoed from above.

Some looked up.

"What's that?" someone murmured nervously.

In the clear sky, three small black dots rapidly descended—freefalling without any visible aid. The roaring grew louder, heavy and menacing, like the heavens themselves were raging.

Someone shouted, "They're coming! Falling from the sky!"

Panic spread fast. The crowd surrounding Kenthelion scattered in all directions.

BOOM!!

A deafening explosion shook the Takagi estate grounds. The earth trembled, windows shattered, and a huge plume of dust and debris shot into the air. A small crater formed at their landing spot, and from the thick smoke emerged three figures.

One man cloaked in long robes and heavy black armor bore the shining Imperium Aquila on his chest — an Inquisitor.

Behind him stood two towering Space Marines in gleaming blue power armor, nearly three meters tall, wielding massive bolters and Gothic helmets glowing red.

An oppressive spiritual aura swept through the area like a psychic wave from a battlefield.

Everyone froze.

The Space Marines scanned the surroundings silently. The Inquisitor stepped forward, his gaze cold and disdainful at the crowd encircling Kenthelion.
