Chapter 36 : "War of the Twin Empires"

After Admiral Yularen gave the order to attack, the warships of the Imperium Caelestis surged forward. At the front were massive battleships from the Warhammer universe, followed closely by Star Wars warships of various sizes, forming a powerful and majestic battle line.

Inside each warship, the captains stood tall and shouted in unison:

"For Emperor Kenthelion!"

Their voices echoed through the decks, answered by roaring cheers from the crew. The entire fleet burned with determination and fury.

"Fire!"

Beams of light—like divine spears—shot across space, slicing through the Bloodmaw Empire's warships as easily as hot knives through butter. The Imperium's ships didn't just fire—they rammed into the thinner enemy vessels without hesitation, using their own hulls as deadly weapons.

"Reload the ammunition, quickly!"

Massive macro cannon shells were loaded into the chambers. The guns thundered, releasing a storm of firepower that rained down like a meteor shower.

"Retreat! Fall back now!"

A Black Urg'nok commander barked orders in panic as he watched his fleet being torn apart. But it was too late. Within seconds, hundreds of ships under his command were destroyed in fiery explosions, their signals lost forever.

"Retreat immediately!"

His voice trembled as he saw the flaming wreckage of his once-mighty fleet. He turned to his officers and shouted.

"Commander! Our engines are down!"

A Bloodmaw soldier ran to him, his voice desperate.

"...It's over."

The commander slumped in his seat, watching the chaos unfold on the bridge. Then, without a word, he raised his weapon and fired into the ceiling.

"How disgraceful—to panic like this!"

He scolded the remaining soldiers, his voice cold and furious.

"Request backup from the second fleet! All soldiers, arm yourselves and prepare to repel boarders! Hold your positions at the command bridge!"

May the Emperor Bless You.

A lone missionary stood solemnly, holding a censer that released calming aromatic smoke. He chanted sacred prayers around the naval paratroopers of the Imperium Caelestis as they prepared to board their assault craft. The air filled with the scent of incense, wrapping the soldiers in a ritual of focus and faith.

Once the rite was complete, thousands of Imperium Caelestis marines marched in perfect formation toward the looming Shark-class assault ships.

These Shark-class assault ships were the standard boarding vessels used by the Imperium Caelestis Navy for ship-to-ship combat operations. Each vessel was roughly 55 meters long, most of its structure dedicated to massive engines and reinforced troop compartments. Equipped with magnetic clamps and high-temperature breaching explosives, these ships were designed to punch through enemy hulls and unleash squads of heavily armed soldiers directly onto hostile decks.

Each squadron consisted of eight Shark-class ships, with 64 marines in total. Among them, one figure stood out—Colonel Hank.

Colonel Hank was no ordinary soldier. A hardened, macho war veteran, he had once survived a deadly encounter with a chicken thief armed with blades in a remote cabin—armed with nothing but a shotgun. Since then, he had remained loyal to the raw power of short-barreled firearms.

His weapon of choice didn't use advanced sights or precision targeting. It was slow-firing and pump-action or clip-loaded—but in tight corridors and brutal close-quarters fights, it was the perfect tool. Compared to laser rifles with pinpoint accuracy, short-barreled shotguns were the preferred choice of frontline breachers.

That day, Colonel Hank was briefing a newly assigned officer—fresh from a world cataloged in the multiversal archives as Resident Evil.

> "If I were you," Hank said, eyeing the eager young sergeant gripping a bolt pistol decorated with a golden twin-headed eagle,

"I wouldn't pick a bolt gun."

Just then, a voice echoed across the intercom—Admiral Yularen.

> "Attention, naval personnel," Yularen's voice rang through every radio channel.

"Our ships have entered combat positions. Before you board, I'll repeat the precautions for group boarding operations. Remember—your mission is to return alive. May the Emperor watch over you all."
