Alan was confused. "Who's there?" Asked Myra. Alan cut the call and said, "Just a wrong number." With that he went away.
Next day
Alan was fully ready for his project but Keith was nowhere to be found. The police tried their best, but in vain. Mr. And Mrs. Thompson were crying a river right now. Sam and Sofia were consoling them. Amidst of this, Alan picked up his bag and sat in the car.
On the way, he wondered where Keith went. He couldn't help but felt a strange connection of Keith's disappearance to the call that he received yesterday. Soon, he arrived to school. And as he stepped out, screams of girls could be heard from a distance. He didn't felt like dealing with all those drools right now, so he went straight to the class.
Unfortunately, the number of droolers didn't end there, and every single girl in his class were screaming.
"Oh my god! He's so handsome!" One girl said.
"Yes! I should ask him out!" Another girl intervened.
"No! I bet he have a crush over him and would ask me out after school!" A girl said proudly.
Alan just sat on his desk and was helplessly waiting for the teacher to come. Soon, the teacher came. She stopped all the noise and Alan finally felt relieved.
"Okay kids! Remember about the project I gave you?"
Alan stood up. With confidence in his voice, he said; "Teacher! My partner is absent."
"Aiyo! Hear the full thing atleast. So that project was not in your syllabus and I gave that to you mistakely. Now the next project is for each individual, so don't worry that you have to find a partner."
Soon, the class turned into some kind of rebel group, and everyone was saying their thing. They weren't angry because of the project change, they were angry that now their chance of being paired with Alan was 0%.
"Silence! So in this project, you have to write a 4 page essay about your father's occupation. Got it? The due date is next Monday."
Alan wondered, "What is my father's occupation?"
