"Um… just to be clear, you're not expecting that I get together with you because you saved me, right?" I asked hesitantly but firmly. Initially I planned to not ask this right away so I don't come off as rude, but I just feel like it's best I get this out of the way before anything else.
Hugo hummed while regarding me. I watched his face closely to gauge his reaction. He didn't frown or get angry, but a small grin tugged at his lips as his head tinted sideways whims he was still regarding me.
"What makes you think that?" He asked and I shrugged a little while exhaling.
"I know that it might have come off as insulting to you and I'm sorry for that. I just don't want there to be any misunderstanding between us so I think it's best that I get all that's on my mind off right now."
