Chapter 140 - Chapter 140;END OF AN ERA

Chapter 140

The controversy surrounding Na yeon's picture had taken a dark turn. It was later revealed that Chuchu had posted the picture, which ultimately led to Na yeon's tragic demise. Chuchu was arrested and interrogated by the police, but she claimed she had acted out of anger and a sense of revenge. According to Chuchu, Na yeon had offended her a long time ago, and she had been waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.

Chuchu alleged that she had seen Na yeon going into an hotel with a guy and had taken out her phone to take a picture, feeling that it was the perfect opportunity to expose Na yeon. Despite her arrest, Chuchu was later released by the police after her parents intervened. It was fortunate that the incident occurred during the exam period, and Chuchu had to leave the school without completing her exams.

The situation had died down, but the impact of Chuchu's actions would likely be felt for a long time.

Months later, the long-awaited day had finally arrived – exams were over. I laid on my bed, my eyes flickering open and close as I slowly came to life. The morning sunlight streaming through the window highlighted the dust particles dancing in the air, and I could hear the distant chatter of my classmates outside. I finally opened my eyes and sat up, looking around my room with a mix of nostalgia and excitement. I could see the boxes I'd already packed up the night before, stacked neatly in the corner of the room.

I stood up, noticing that I hadn't packed everything – just my makeup and some essentials were needed to be packed.

I packed the rest of my belongings, my eyes scanning the room to ensure I didn't miss anything. I checked every nook and cranny to ensure I didn't miss any important items. As I looked around the room one last time, a pang of sadness hit me. "I'm going to miss this room so much," I whispered to myself, my voice barely audible.

I took my bag and dressed decently, thinking about my boyfriend, Hyun Min. I needed to see him, to spend some quality time together before I left. I wore a new outfit – a black jean and a designer top with vibrant flowers all over it. The fabric felt soft against my skin, and I couldn't help but smile as I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror.

I pulled my hair into a ponytail, though it was in dire need of a trim. The undergrowth was noticeable, but I didn't have time for that now. I wore a face cap to keep my hair out of my face.

As I stepped outside, the chaos was palpable. Doors were opening and closing, bags were being dragged, and people were running up and down the corridors. I could hear the excitement in the air, the sound of laughter and chatter filling the hallways. Today was the last day of school, and everyone was waiting for an important announcement from the principal. I decided to head to the cafeteria first, to grab a bite to eat before joining the crowd.

I made my way to the cafeteria, lost in thought, when someone suddenly stopped me. It was Racy. I had tried to walk past her twice before, but she had stopped me each time. This time, I looked at her with a mixture of frustration and curiosity, my eyes narrowing slightly. "What do you need to say?" I asked, my tone firm but controlled.

Racy's expression was contrite, her eyes filled with genuine remorse. "I'm truly, deeply sorry," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know my actions were unacceptable, and I'm filled with regret for the way I treated you. Can you ever forgive me?"

Her words were laced with sincerity, and for a moment, I felt a pang of sympathy for her. I looked at her, my expression softening slightly. "I forgive you," I said, my voice gentle but clear. Racy's face lit up with gratitude, and she said, "Thank you. That means a lot to me."

Just then, she looked at me with a hint of sadness and said, "My mom is here, and I need to go. I won't be waiting for the announcement or anything. I'm leaving now." As she turned to go, I called out to her. "Racy!" She turned to look at me, and I walked over to her. I gave her a warm hug, and she smiled slightly before turning and walking away. I watched her go, feeling a sense of closure and new beginnings.

As the principal, a poised and confident woman, stood at the podium, a hush fell over the sea of students before her. Her voice boomed through the microphone, "Attention, students! I have an important announcement to make." The chatter in the hall died down, and all eyes turned to the principal, anticipation and curiosity etched on their faces.

"The exam period has officially come to an end," she declared, a hint of relief and excitement in her voice. "Congratulations, students! You've worked hard, and it's time to take a well-deserved break." The hall erupted in cheers and applause, with students whistling and shouting in joy. The sound was deafening, a cacophony of excitement and relief.

The principal smiled, her eyes shining with warmth, as she held up her hands for silence. "But that's not all. Graduation is just around the corner. In about a week, we'll be celebrating this milestone with our families and friends. Additionally, please note that your results will be collected on graduation day, and you'll get to see where you've been admitted to in college."

The students cheered again, this time with even more enthusiasm, their faces alight with excitement. As the principal finished speaking, the hall was filled with the sound of excited chatter. Students were already making plans, texting their parents, and high-fiving each other. The atmosphere was electric, with a sense of anticipation and excitement building up.

Outside, parents were starting to arrive, honking their horns, and waving to their children. The students were eager to leave the school premises behind and start their well-deserved break. The sound of bags being packed, and laughter filled the air as students said their goodbyes and headed home to celebrate. Months of hard work and studying were finally over. The weight of exams was lifted, and college was already staring at them.

I left the announcement hall, scanning the crowd for a familiar face. Where was he? I had texted him, but he hadn't replied. What was going on? As I made my way through the throng of students, I bumped into Jo Sang. It had been a while since I'd last seen him.

"Hey, it's been ages, Sarah," Jo Sang said, flashing a warm smile. His voice was now thicker, more mature than I remembered.

I nodded in agreement, returning his smile. "Yeah, it's been a while. Life's been crazy, right?"

Jo Sang's expression turned serious as he brought up his sister. "Hey, I'm really sorry about the way my sister treated you." His deep voice carried a sense of sincerity.

I waved my hand dismissively. "Don't worry about it, Jo Sang. It's water under the bridge. Besides, she's left the school, and I just hope she'll take this as an opportunity to reflect on her actions and become a better person."

Jo Sang nodded thoughtfully, his eyes filled with understanding. "You know, she's always had a bit of a difficult personality. I hope she'll learn to appreciate the people around her and not crave validation from others."

I nodded in agreement. "I'm sure she will. It's good we're done with high school. Now, we just need to wait for our results and see."

Jo Sang mentioned that he might not attend college in Korea, and I raised an eyebrow. "You're thinking of studying abroad? That's a great opportunity if your family can afford it." His deep voice resonated as he replied, "Yeah, my parents are open to it. We'll see what happens."

We chatted for a bit longer before bidding each other farewell. As I watched him leave, I noticed that most of the students had already gone, rushing to meet their parents and leave the school premises behind. The atmosphere was chaotic, but I felt a sense of relief wash over me. It was finally over.
