Chapter 136

"Honestly, I think there's a strong resemblance between the two of you," I said gently. Hyun Min's expression turned defensive, and he said, "Sarah, if she was my mother, my parents would have told me. They wouldn't have kept it a secret from me. I don't believe her claims."

I nodded understandingly. "Okay, I get it. You need time to process this." We continued to enjoy our ice cream in silence, until I suddenly spoke up. "So,How many kids do you see us having?" Hyun Min's reaction was immediate and intense. He choked on his ice cream, coughing loudly.

I patted him on the back, concerned. "Are you okay?" I asked. He looked at me, still coughing, and I said, "It's a valid question, right?" Hyun Min shook his head, laughing. "To be honest, I haven't given it much thought."

I raised an eyebrow. "So, you're don't want to have kids?" Hyun Min looked at me, and his eyes were serious. "Sarah, I haven't thought about that," he said softly. I smiled and said, "Let's forget about it then."

Just as I was about to change the subject, Hyun Min's phone rang, breaking the silence.

Hyun Min picked up the phone, and his sister Nella's cheerful voice filled the line. "Hey, baby bro! What's up?" she exclaimed. Nella, a first-year college student, was studying in Korea, staying with their grandmother to be close to campus. "Am I catching you at a bad time?" she asked, her voice bubbling with energy.

Hyun Min chuckled. "Honestly, I've been meaning to call you, but life got in the way," he admitted. Nella laughed. "No worries, I know you're busy. So, I heard about the accident. I'm so sorry I couldn't visit. I was swamped with stuff here, but I told Mom I'll be coming home maybe this weekend or so."

Hyun Min's interest was piqued. "Seriously? They didn't mention anything to me," he said. Nella's voice filled with excitement. "Yeah, I'm beyond ready to be back home. I've missed your face – your ridiculously handsome face, of course," she teased.

Hyun Min playfully responded, "Oh, so you're admitting I'm handsome now?" They both laughed, and their banter was infectious. Hyun Min asked about their grandmother, and Nella reassured him that she was doing great.

Nella then dropped a bombshell. "By the way, I have some tea to spill. One of my friends saw your pics and was totally crushing on you." Hyun Min's response was immediate – he scuffed, embarrassed. Nella burst out laughing. "Don't worry, I set her straight. I mean, why would she dare to like my baby brother?" They both erupted into laughter, and the tension was momentarily forgotten.

Hyun Min's expression turned serious, and he said, "Actually, I do have a girlfriend." One could tell nella was shocked "No way! You're finally off the market? I need to meet her ASAP – I'm dying to see what she's like," she exclaimed, her voice bubbling with excitement.

Hyun Min chuckled at her enthusiasm. "You'll meet her soon enough," he teased. Nella's face lit up with anticipation.

Hyun Min mentioned, "Although she's not Korean, she's a wonderful person." Nella's response was immediate and carefree. "Honestly, nationality doesn't matter to me – as long as she's stunning, I'm good!" she said with a laugh.

Hyun Min chuckled at her response, appreciating her open-mindedness. "I'm glad you're so accepting," he said, his tone lighthearted. Nella's priorities were clear, and he admired her for it.

"Grandma wants to talk to you," she said, barely containing her excitement.

The phone changed hands, and Hyun Min's grandmother's warm voice filled the line. "Min dear, how are you doing?" she asked, her voice full of affection.

"I'm doing great, Halmeoni," Hyun Min said, responding to her concern with a warm smile. "But how about you? How's life treating you?" he asked, his tone filled with genuine interest.

"I'm doing wonderfully," halmeoni replied, her voice radiating warmth. "I'm perfectly fine." Hyun Min's thoughts turned to her well-being, and he suggested, "Why don't you take a break and go back to England? You deserve some rest." But halmeoni was quick to dismiss the idea. "I'm absolutely loving it here in Korea, min I've got everything I need, and I've even picked up the language. Don't worry about me, dear. Besides, I'm dying to meet your girlfriend!" she exclaimed, her voice bubbling with excitement.

Hyun Min's eyes widened in surprise. "How on earth did you find out about her?" he asked, chuckling. Nella's voice piped up in the background, "she heard our conversation, bro!" Hyun Min laughed. "Oh, okay, Halmeoni. I guess I shouldn't be surprised."

His grandmother's voice became more insistent. "Bring her over for dinner, min. I'd love to get to know her better and spoil her rotten," she said, her tone filled with affection. Hyun Min hesitated for a moment before responding, "Once my exams are over, I'll definitely bring her over. Promise!" His grandmother's smile was audible over the phone.

As the call drew to a close, Nella's voice chimed in again. "Later, bro! Bye for now. Tell your girlfriend I'll be seeing her soon – and I'm going to give her a big hug!" Hyun Min smiled, and the call ended with a sense of warmth, love, and anticipation.

As the call finally came to a close, Hyun Min's gaze met mine, he had been on the phone for over 20 minutes.

"That was my sister and grandmother." He told me and i nodded.

But his expression quickly shifted, and a hint of urgency crept into his voice. "I need to head back to the hospital now."

I nodded understandingly, my eyes locked on his. "Alright, let's get you back then," I said softly. But as he stood up, his face contorted in pain, and my concern spiked. "Are you okay?" I asked, my voice laced with worry.

Hyun Min winced, holding his side tightly. "It's just a bit of pain," he muttered, but I could see the agony etched on his face. The wound on his side had reopened, and a dark stain was spreading across his clothes.

"Oh no, your wound!" I exclaimed, rushing to his side to support him. "We need to get you to the hospital, now!" I said firmly, my fingers flying across my phone as I called for a taxi.

Hyun Min's eyes flickered open, and he looked at me with a mixture of gratitude and pain. "Thanks," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

As we waited for the taxi, I held him steady, trying to keep him comfortable. The ride to the hospital was a blur of pain and worry. Hyun Min's groans filled the air, and I held him tight, trying to absorb some of his pain.

"I'm so sorry this happened," he said, his voice filled with concern.
