Chapter 255: Wang Dong'er: Be Honest
"Slap!"
"Don't overthink things. You don't need to worry about this, and it has little to do with you."
Seeing Wang Dong'er spacing out again, Lin Qinghan knew she was thinking too much. He reached out and flicked her forehead, then motioned for her to sit and eat.
This silly girl always liked to overanalyze things despite not having much for brains.
"Why'd you flick me? Aren't I allowed to think for myself?"
Though Lin Qinghan hadn't used any real strength, his current body was at god level. While there wasn't even a red mark on Wang Dong'er's forehead, it still stung just a bit, making her pout in protest. She reached out to grab Lin Qinghan's arm, baring her little tiger teeth as if preparing to "bite" him.
Lin Qinghan raised his hand to block, only to feel a soft, moist sensation against his palm. He looked down and saw Wang Dong'er with a mischievous grin.
"You're not allowed to wash your hand now."
Wang Dong'er looked at the trace she left on Lin Qinghan's palm, smiled smugly, then pulled him to sit at the main seat at the table.
She sat directly on his lap, sharing the same chair. Lin Qinghan took out a handkerchief to clean his palm, then adjusted Wang Dong'er's position on his legs to stop her from bouncing around.
"It's fine. I don't mind, but don't be a brat."
As soon as he finished speaking, Wang Dong'er picked up a piece of bread and stuffed it into Lin Qinghan's hand, her eyes glinting with playful defiance.
"Then eat it with this hand."
"I think someone doesn't want to eat properly."
Lin Qinghan put down the bread, then stood up with Wang Dong'er in his arms. He glanced at Huo Yutong and Ju Zi.
"You two eat first. Dong'er and I have something to discuss."
With that, Lin Qinghan carried Wang Dong'er off to his dormitory, leaving behind a slightly awkward Ju Zi and a resigned Huo Yutong.
"Is Wang Dong'er always like that with Lin Qinghan?"
Ju Zi asked Huo Yutong with uncertainty. It was hard for her to reconcile the cold, intimidating Lin Qinghan she knew with this version who tolerated even playful bites.
Ju Zi knew very well how ruthless Lin Qinghan could be. Take Wang Shaojie, for instance. Although no evidence surfaced, Ju Zi was certain Lin Qinghan was involved in his disappearance. After all, Wang Shaojie had pursued Huo Yutong, and not long after Lin Qinghan joined the lab, he vanished.
Wang Shaojie was royalty—even if he was involved in scandal, his disappearance stirred up a fuss. But with no clues and interference from Jing Hongchen, it was quietly dismissed.
That only proved how merciless Lin Qinghan could be with outsiders.
Yet now, he tolerated this girl's saliva?
"Dong'er isn't usually like this. She probably just wanted some time alone with Brother Qinghan, so she acted this way. Senior Sister Ju Zi, let's eat. Brother Qinghan and Wang Dong'er probably won't be leaving that room tonight."
Huo Yutong seemed momentarily lost in thought, but then she composed herself, took her seat, and calmly began eating fruit with a fork.
Ju Zi understood immediately and blushed, but then also sat down opposite Huo Yutong.
·········
Two hours passed. It was already late into the night. Huo Yutong chose a room in the palace to rest.
With Lin Qinghan's divine sense helping Ju Zi finish her paperwork, she too had a rare opportunity to sleep a full day.
"Are you behaving now?"
In the dimly lit room, only a small soul tool lamp glowed faintly, casting soft shadows across the space.
On the large three-meter-wide bed, Lin Qinghan hugged the exhausted Wang Dong'er and whispered into her ear, gently biting her earlobe.
"I'm behaving, I was wrong… I won't do it again…"
Wang Dong'er felt like her body no longer belonged to her. After Lin Qinghan's fusion of soul and body, his physical power had risen to match his mental might.
Last time, when she and Xiao Xiao had been together with Lin Qinghan, they had only vaguely felt that he'd gotten stronger.
But this time, Wang Dong'er was alone. She was still only a Soul Emperor and naturally couldn't compare to Lin Qinghan in any way.
Now she just wanted to cry. She hadn't meant for things to go so far—she'd only wanted to carve out a little private time with him.
But between the shocking atmosphere and the presence of Ju Zi, her teasing had become a bit too reckless. Now, she completely regretted it.
She'd been so stupid. She knew how overwhelmingly strong Lin Qinghan was—and still chose to provoke him.
"Next time, if you want to talk to me privately, just say so."
Seeing that Wang Dong'er had repeatedly admitted fault, Lin Qinghan finally stopped. Golden-green lightning sparkled from his fingers and traced gently from his hand along Wang Dong'er's body.
Lin Qinghan knew she had other intentions behind her teasing, but given her expression at the time, she really seemed to enjoy it.
And that made him "angry." After all, Wang Dong'er was originally a part separated from Tang San's daughter, Tang Wutong. That mischievous personality still lingered.
So, for the Tang family's inherent evil… he would handle it himself.
As a result, Wang Dong'er suffered. Lin Qinghan didn't even do much—but with just slight effort, he had drained her completely.
Luckily, Lin Qinghan hadn't gone too far, and his feelings toward Wang Dong'er remained sincere. Afterward, he began healing her.
As the familiar soothing sensation returned, Wang Dong'er recognized Lin Qinghan's healing technique.
Feeling her strength return, she was finally able to turn over slightly. The strange tingling faded, and Wang Dong'er wanted to tell Lin Qinghan the real reason she had come to see him.
But before she could speak, a wave of exhaustion overtook her—and she fell fast asleep.
