Break time was almost over, and Jin was still up there, on the school building's rooftop, watching the movement in the courtyard below as a soft breeze messed up his hair. Leon stood beside him, leaning casually against the safety rail.
"So… ready for this?" Leon asked, breaking the silence.
"Always," Jin replied with a slight smirk.
The two of them went down and headed straight to the back courtyard, where the second-year class leaders were waiting with their unfriendly faces. Min Seok, the strongest leader, stood at the center, his uniform spotless and a look of disdain on his face.
"So you're the famous Jin?" Min Seok mocked. "I was curious to see the guy who thought he could challenge the second years."
Jin stayed calm, closing his eyes for a moment and taking a deep breath.
Suddenly, the leader of Class 2-D charged in, throwing a straight punch. But before it could reach Jin, a heavy hand grabbed his fist mid-air. It was Baek Doo-Hwan, the brute who'd become Jin's subordinate weeks ago.
"It's been a while since I had some fun," Baek said, squeezing the guy's hand until the sound of bones cracking echoed.
"Damn… what strength…" the leader groaned in pain.
In that moment, the other four leaders charged forward.
"It's three against five. Let's see what those guys got," Min Seok provoked.
Leon grinned and dashed in, smoothly dodging every strike. Jin, without even opening his eyes at first, felt the tension in the air. When he did open them, his calves tensed under his school uniform, and with a powerful leap, he flew towards Min Seok, aiming a sharp knee strike.
Min Seok managed to block with his hand, but the force behind it was massive. A flash of Jin training underwater with weights tied to him crossed his mind. "My body feels light as a feather," he thought.
Using Min Seok's hand as leverage, Jin flipped in the air and landed a crushing kick on the top of his head, knocking him nearly unconscious. Without wasting a second, Jin mounted on Min Seok and began punching his face over and over, blood splattering everywhere.
One of the other leaders tried to grab Jin from behind, but he used Min Seok's limp body as a shield. The cowardly punch landed on Min Seok's bloodied face instead.
"Trying to kill the guy?" Jin mocked coldly.
Meanwhile, Baek had already taken down the 2-D leader, standing over him with a disdainful smile.
"These guys are pathetic. Is this really the strength of our school?" Baek scoffed.
Leon, handling two leaders at once, dodged their attacks with insane reflexes, still exchanging words with Baek mid-fight.
"You broke the guy's arm — how are we supposed to use him now?" Leon said, laughing.
"Who needs weaklings anyway?" Baek retorted.
Deciding to wrap it up, Leon got serious and started unleashing precise Kyokushin strikes. With a single punch to the stomach, he sent one leader flying several meters back. The other was stunned.
"What the hell was that? A monster… Maybe it's not that we're weak — these guys are demons," he muttered.
Without a second thought, he surrendered.
Only one remained. Jin was trading blows with him and, for the first time, felt a bit of a challenge.
"You're not bad," Jin admitted, blocking a punch.
"But too bad for you… I'm your opponent," Jin added, grabbing the guy's wrist and pulling him close.
As Jin went for the finishing blow, the 2-B leader managed to dodge and, surprisingly, landed a clean hit on Jin's face. A heavy silence followed. The veins in Jin's neck and forehead bulged, his expression twisting.
"I… got hit… by this guy?" Jin muttered, furious.
Letting out a growl, he grabbed the guy by the neck, lifting him off the ground with one hand. Jin started pummeling his face with relentless punches, blood flying everywhere.
"Enough!" Baek shouted, grabbing Jin's arm. "If you keep this up, you'll kill him."
Jin threw the unconscious body to the ground.
"Wasn't that serious," he grumbled, still panting.
The second-year leaders' bodies were scattered across the courtyard. Only one, the one who'd surrendered to Leon, remained conscious, paralyzed by fear.
Jin smirked with satisfaction.
"Gotta agree with Baek. These guys are so weak they embarrass our school."
The chapter closes with Jin, Leon, and Baek standing tall, looking down at the defeated bodies, knowing this was just the beginning.
