"T-Thanks for saving me."
Zeth adjusts his position, sitting upright on the bed, cheeks still red and flustered from what happened earlier. He avoided eye contact with Zoey, heart still racing.
"D-Don't mention it… Why is she even on top of you?"
Zoey pulls a stool, plopping it next to the bed. She puts her crutches to the side, leaning on a wall as she sits.
"T-Those girls from Team 25, they're up to something. They've been bothering me ever since we met them. I just know they're up to no good!"
Zeth hopes that she will believe his suspicions.
"I-If you say so…"
She brushes a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I'm telling the truth."
Zeth's eyes narrowed slightly, sighing.
"I believe you."
Zoey gave a half-hearted shrug.
"Can you believe it? It's been a crazy few weeks!"
Zeth attempts to change the subject, smiling sheepishly.
"Yeah. Two weeks, actually. I find it funny that all of this started because I stopped you from walking away. Remember that?"
Zoey chuckles.
