"Haha! Well, let's talk later! I haven't had a fierce battle in ages, and I'm glad you're the one here! Today, we'll go all out with a full 6-on-6 battle! Time to stretch these old limbs!"
Curator Lin was clearly amused by Chen Xiaoxiao's mock-scared gesture, and his eyes gleamed with excitement as he suggested the full battle.
"Good!"
Chen Xiaoxiao naturally welcomed the opportunity. She had been preparing her full team for a battle like this.
Master Lin nodded firmly to the referee.

Main force.
The audience immediately erupted in excitement upon hearing this. Full team battles were rare in public gym matches, usually reserved for high-profile challengers or trainers eyeing the League.
"Now entering the Gym Challenge Arena: Chen Xiaoxiao from Shencheng will challenge Lin Yi, the Guancheng Gym Leader! Standard League rules apply: one-on-one format, no mid-battle switching allowed. Each trainer will use six Pokémon. Victory is awarded when one side has no remaining usable Pokémon. The challenger attacks first. Trainers, send out your Pokémon!"
The referee's voice echoed professionally across the field.
"Let's go, Lapras!"
"Meganium, I choose you!"
Chen Xiaoxiao threw out a Poké Ball, and a Lapras her trusted partner.emerged onto the battlefield with a bright cry. From Lin's side, a tall, majestic Meganium stomped forward with grace.

"Of course, he's starting with a starter," Chen Xiaoxiao thought, recognizing the Johto-region evolution line instantly. She recalled from earlier press articles that Lin's Meganium was one of his oldest partners, raised from a Chikorita since his youth.
Lapras faced it calmly.
"Battle start!" the referee announced.
"Lapras, open with Ice Beam!"
As expected from the challenger, Chen Xiaoxiao took the first move. Lapras, clearly in high spirits, leaned forward and exhaled a beam of concentrated ice energy from her mouth. The shimmering Ice Beam surged across the arena, targeting Meganium.
"Meganium, meet it with Petal Blizzard!"
Lin's eyes narrowed. He didn't rush to dodge. Instead, he ordered Meganium to confront the attack head-on, eager to test Lapras's power.
Meganium roared, summoning a swirling storm of sharp-edged petals that surged outward in a fierce flurry. The two attacks collided mid-air.ice crystals clashing against dancing petals.
The result was a brilliant explosion of frost and flora. Frozen shards and flower fragments scattered across the field like confetti.
Boom!
The audience roared with approval at the impressive clash, the first real battle of the day compared to the dull skirmishes earlier.
"Lapras, Ice Shard!"
Chen Xiaoxiao followed up immediately. She knew from prior scouting that Meganium's defense was excellent, but Lapras had the type advantage and speed was key.
Lapras conjured multiple jagged chunks of ice mid-air and hurled them at high velocity toward Meganium.
"Dodge and use Razor Leaf!"
Lin was ready this time. From their previous exchange, he had gauged Lapras's approximate level high but close to Meganium's. He changed tactics now, leaning into Meganium's agility.
Meganium darted aside with surprising speed, avoiding the incoming Ice Shards. As she moved, glowing green leaves spun around her and fired like a barrage of blades at Lapras.
Chen Xiaoxiao's heart dropped.
"Lapras, evade!"
But it was too late. Having just launched Ice Shard, Lapras had no momentum left to move. The Razor Leaf barrage slammed into her body with a flurry of hits. As a dual Water/Ice-type, she took quadruple damage from the Grass attack.
"Lapras!!"
Lapras let out a pained cry as the slicing leaves struck her, but after a brief moment, she lifted her head and growled.a signal she could still fight.
"Hang in there!" Chen Xiaoxiao called, clutching her Poké Ball tightly. "Use Surf!"
The spectators murmured. Why Surf? Lapras had a clear Ice-type advantage. Even Lin frowned.
Surf, despite being powerful, was resisted by Grass-types. Was this a misplay?
"Meganium, dodge it!"
Despite the apparent irrationality of the move, Lin had battled enough veterans to know better. Chen Xiaoxiao wasn't one to waste a move.
Meganium leapt to the side, narrowly avoiding the massive wall of water that surged across the battlefield and slammed into the back wall.
"Lapras, Surf again!"
Chen Xiaoxiao issued the same command, her tone sharper this time. Lapras obeyed, summoning another massive wave. This time, the returning water from the first wave mixed with the second, creating a churning sea across more than half the battlefield.
There was nowhere to run.
Meganium tried to dodge but was clipped by the wave's edge and lost footing.
From his command box, Lin's eyes narrowed.
"She's manipulating the terrain," he muttered. "Using Surf not for damage—but for setup."
"Meganium, Razor Leaf slice a path through!"
Leaf blades spun up once again and cut into the wave. Miraculously, Meganium forced a narrow hole through the water and avoided being swept completely.
The crowd gasped. It was a masterful use of precision from Lin and Meganium.
"Whether the waves are useful or not... we'll see right now! Lapras, Ice Beam aim at the flood!"
Chen Xiaoxiao's voice rang out clear and confident.
Lin's eyes widened.
"What? No—Meganium, jump!"
But it was too late.
Lapras unleashed a piercing Ice Beam directly into the flood water surging back across the battlefield. The icy energy spread instantly, flash-freezing the water into solid ice.
Meganium, still recovering from the flood impact, was caught in mid-step. Her lower body was trapped in the quickly forming ice.
"Now, Lapras—Blizzard!!"
The freezing winds exploded from Lapras like a typhoon. A massive storm of frost engulfed the field.
Meganium couldn't move. The Blizzard, with its 110 base power and double STAB bonus from Lapras, struck her dead-on.
Boom!
Even with her natural bulk, Meganium cried out in pain, her exposed upper body taking the full brunt of the attack. The ice storm subsided. Meganium stood frozen for a moment… then collapsed, fainted.
Meganium is unable to battle. Lapras wins!
Cheers erupted from the audience at the brilliant execution of the strategy. Lin smiled, raising an eyebrow.
"Well played," he muttered.
Chen Xiaoxiao nodded to Lapras.
"One down."
