Chapter 10 - Evolution System

After Zhao Feng felt his body recovering, he immediately untied Ning Yue, who was still bound to the chair. Once freed, she stood up with a relieved sigh, rubbing her slightly sore wrists and muttering, "Finally, I'm free."

Zhao Feng pointed at Xiao Yuyan, who was still sound asleep, her body covered only by a thin blanket.

"You're a doctor, right? Hurry and check her condition," he said, his tone carrying a trace of command.

Ning Yue pouted slightly. Her relationship with Xiao Yuyan was far from friendly—the girl often got in her way, creating unnecessary tension. But she was still a professional. Even if she disliked it, she couldn't refuse Zhao Feng's request.

Her usually cheeky expression shifted instantly. Her eyes turned sharp, filled with focus and authority. She brushed back her disheveled dark-blue hair in a graceful motion that added to her cold elegance. The aura of a medical expert radiated from her every move.

Zhao Feng was slightly taken aback by how fast she could switch between personalities—almost like two different people trapped in the same body. But his admiration quickly turned to regret when Ning Yue began examining Xiao Yuyan.

Her expression remained serious, full of focus… but her hands moved too freely. Skilled and precise, they traveled across Xiao Yuyan's body, pressing, squeezing, and lifting with expert motion.

Zhao Feng couldn't help but feel awkward just watching it.

Stirring from her sleep, Xiao Yuyan opened her eyes slightly, her face flushing red as Ning Yue's hands brushed over a sensitive spot. She let out a soft gasp, lowering her face and covering it with trembling fingers.

Unable to take it anymore, Zhao Feng smacked the back of Ning Yue's head.

She turned with an annoyed glare.

"What the hell was that for?!"

Zhao Feng frowned. His tone was sharp.

"Stop messing around! This is serious!"

Ning Yue scowled but gave a small nod, trying to restrain herself—though Zhao Feng could still see the hint of a mischievous smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.

He sighed in defeat.

A few moments later, Ning Yue stood up and turned to him.

"She's fine. Just exhausted. She needs rest."

Zhao Feng let out a breath of relief.

In the corner of the infirmary, Zhao Feng sat slumped on a couch, one hand propping up his chin. His gaze was fixed out the window, empty and distant. Across from him, Ning Yue sat in silence, eyes scanning her medical tablet.

It had been two days since the announcement—the so-called 'Will of the Great World' declared Earth's fusion with another realm.

From what he understood, portals were opening across the world, and monsters were pouring through them.

Unfortunately, he was stuck at school and had no clear grasp of the outside world's condition.

After a moment, Ning Yue broke the silence, her voice flat yet firm.

"Luckily, the internet is still up."

Zhao Feng raised an eyebrow slightly, listening.

"I checked several news reports," she continued. "Things are… bad. Just like that voice claimed—monsters are invading."

"Multiple rifts have opened across the globe. Creatures are attacking residential areas, and there are already countless civilian casualties."

Though her tone stayed neutral, Zhao Feng could detect a faint tremor in her voice.

He narrowed his eyes.

This wasn't hard to predict. The monsters emerging from those portals were no joke.

If not for his recent power awakening, he'd still be trapped in that classroom.

"The military and government are putting up a fight," she added. "But since the portals are appearing randomly in multiple cities, and no one had time to prepare for this sudden invasion, their response is limited."

"Fortunately, the government has started building shelter bases in major cities. Rescue operations are underway… but it's not looking optimistic."

Silence followed her words.

The atmosphere around the sofa turned heavy, as if even the air itself was holding its breath, trying to process everything.

But Zhao Feng didn't panic. His expression remained calm—almost cold.

He leaned back further into the couch and let out a quiet sigh.

His thoughts drifted away from the chaos, the monster invasion, and even the government's desperate attempts to fight back.

Right now, only one thing filled his mind:

Becoming stronger.

He knew this world had changed.

It was no longer a place where compassion would save anyone.

Only power mattered now.

Power to survive.

Power to protect.

Power to dominate.

His gaze slowly shifted to his left.

Two translucent screens floated silently in the air.

"…I almost forgot about you," he muttered.

The first screen glowed bright blue, clearly connected to the entity that called itself the Will of the Great World. Strange symbols and system notifications filled the display, hinting at untapped potential.

But the second screen… felt different.

Its light was dimmer, almost invisible if you didn't look closely. It didn't seem connected to the Great Will—and had no system tag or origin.

Yet somehow… Zhao Feng felt it was closer to him.

Almost like it was part of him. Awakened from deep within.

He didn't know where it came from—or what it wanted.

But he didn't need to know.

What mattered now was using it.

His eyes sharpened with unwavering resolve as he reached out and touched the second screen.

And once again… the world began to move in response.
