Chapter 5 - Sasha ... A Killer? (Pt. 2)

The guard defensively asks, "With all due respect, my Luna: what do you mean by 'detestable detainment conditions'? Again, these are cautionary measures invoked by Gamma Ray himself to assure that no harm befalls anyone else. So, I don't see how..."

The Luna cuts him off. "Let me ask you ... you said that Sasha's so restrictively bond because she tore those emissaries apart with her bare hands; and everyone's concerned of a possible threat over that, correct?"

"Yes; that's correct, my Luna."

"Okay ... but did she ever once bite or use her teeth in any way during the attack?"

The guard hesitantly answers, "N-no ... not that I know of. Why?"

"Why? Now that's exactly what I'd like to know. ... Tell me; why is it necessary to have her muzzled, in what looks to me to be nothing less than some sort of torture contraption, like a rabid dog that was frothing at the mouth? If she never once opened her mouth to take a bite out of someone before; what possible threat is there of her biting now?"

The guard is now confoundingly stumped, unable to mutter any kind of response. The Luna continues...

"That aside for now ... about those chains ... I understand that Sasha fended off the SDF members when they tried to restrain her while she was attacking the emissaries ... but tell me this; and be honest ... did she put up any resistance at all after the attack, while she was being taken into custody?"

The guard defeatedly replies in a meek tone, "No ... my Luna ... she didn't."

"No, she didn't; I see ... but all of you still deemed it necessary to bind her up in the facility's heaviest, strongest chains to the point of being, as I see it, ridiculously beyond excessive."

Again, the guard has no reply and remains there standing silent; with his eyes affixed to the floor in front of him.

The Luna steps beside the guard and leans in close, then whispers in his ear...

"Your silence tells me everything I need to know." She leans in even closer, and ominously whispers, "Count your blessings that I arrived here early enough to correct this grave mistake before Teresa showed up ... because if Teresa were to see Sasha in this condition ... trust me, those emissaries wouldn't be the only ones torn apart."

The Luna walks over to Katarina and Jacqueline, who have been dazedly standing off in a corner throughout the Luna's 'cross-examination'.

The first thing she does is lean over and give them both a gentle, loving hug; then removes a silk handkerchief from her pocket and gingerly pats dry Katarina's small, delicate face ... who's cheeks are tear-soaked and upper lip wet from all her crying and sniffling.

Once finished, the Luna stands up and takes hold of one of Katarina and Jacqueline's hands, and speaks in a calm, soothing voice to reassure the highly upset girls...

"Don't you two worry, Sasha will be okay; I'll see to that until Teresa's able to get back here..."

She turns her head to deliver a glare at the guard; while adding in a subtle, somewhat menacing tone...

"And when she does return ... I'm sure she'll take care of things from there."

The Luna looks back down at the girls and gives them a warm smile...

"Now, I think it's past both your bedtimes; so, I think I need to get you two back to bed."

She releases their hands and tells them...

"Have the guard at the cellblock's entrance escort you back up to the lobby; and wait there for me ... I'll be up in few minutes; I just need to finish up taking care of a couple things down here before we leave. Jacqueline, I'm putting you in charge; so, look after Katarina until I get there."

"I will." Jacqueline takes hold of Katarina's hand. "Come on, Kat; let's go. Don't worry, my mom will make sure sis is okay."

The two off them start to leave, slowly walking down the long, isolated corridor; occasionally glancing back over their shoulders at the Luna. Once they're finally gone, the Luna walks up to the guard, and with a stern expression deeply etched within her countenance, orders him in an authoritative tone...

"As for you ... go over there and unchain her..." She emphatically adds, "And get that horrid contraption off her head!"

The Luna takes a brief moment to take in a breath to calm her stirred nerves and regain her a composure a little more before finishing in a clearly purposeful condescending tone...

"Now ... if you still feel 'threatened' and find it necessary to keep that five-year-old, little girl restrained to protect your big, burly self ... I believe that the detention center's standard wrist and ankle shackles should suffice. But ... if I find out that you used anything more than that..."

She moves in closer, then leans in and menacingly whispers in his ear...

"I'll allow Teresa to deal with you personally."

And with that last impressing warning delivered, the Luna leaves.

The guard ... who's literally shaking in his boots as his body trembles in fear just over the thought of what Teresa might do to him if she does find out how her adopted daughter was being restrained ... immediately follows the Luna's instructions and quickly removes the muzzle and chains from Sasha.

This was indeed a prudent and very wise decision undertaken by the guard; for at this time, a brewing maelstrom is festering ... and it was on its way.

************

About an hour and a half after Luna Sarah had left the detention center...

The private jet lands at a remote, undisclosed airfield in the Rainier Pack's territory, about three miles east of the main compound.

During the flight, while frantically making phone call after phone call to try to piece together and figure out what was happening out there, Teresa happened to come across and discover an interesting tidbit of information that she's dying to pass on to her brother...

And she's especially looking forward to seeing the expression that will befall upon that typically ... at least in Teresa's eyes ... 'Machiavellian' visage of Delta Colin Thompson when he hears it.

But this is neither here nor there now, because at this moment all Teresa wants to do is see how Sasha's doing; so that rather pressing information has been put on the proverbial 'back burner' of her to-do list. Teresa quickly departs the airfield and makes a beeline for the detention center.

When she arrives, although she's seething to find out that Sasha's still being incarcerated in an isolated, solitary cell located at the lowest sublevel of the facility ... which is usually allotted for the most serious of offenders ... she's relieved to see that Sasha's no longer constrictively restraint like before...

She learned of this during one of the calls during the flight over from Sacramento ... one of the few update calls relayed between her and her niece regarding Sasha's status.

Without even uttering a single word to him, just delivering a 'death stare', Teresa snatches the key ring from the guard's utility belt ... ripping it off his pants in the process ... and immediately opens and enters the cell Sasha's been confined in. Teresa rushes in and firmly, yet lovingly, throws her arms around Sasha and hugs her while delivering a 'barrage' of kisses to her petite face.

After a few minutes of that intimate mother-daughter reunion, Teresa had a private ... and quite troubling ... discussion with Sasha to find out her side of the story about what happened earlier that night.

In comparison to that interesting tidbit of shocking information Teresa had found about during her flight, the startling revelation that Sasha had just told her is a complete and total 'bombshell'.
