The Blood moon's Burden
***Arin's POV***
I wasn't telling my legs to move, but they were. I was gradually leaving the triplets and everything I loved. I could hear Kael calling my name from behind, but I couldn't respond. I no longer owned my body.
Queen Althara's voice echoed in my mind,
"Stop fighting it, dear."
"It hurts more the more you resist."
She was correct. My skull hurt like lightning every time I tried to turn around or call out to the triplets. I was walking to Queen Althara's soldiers like a dog on chains as they were waiting for me in the forest. I heard myself say, "Bring her to me," but it wasn't me. Queen Althara was speaking through my mouth.
The soldiers circled me and bowed. All I wanted to do was keep walking, but I also wanted to run and fight. However, my feet continued to advance.
Everything turned black at that point.
