Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Hage Village, Grimoire Tower

The first thing Zura did after landing was to visit the church. The familiar sights and sounds of the place brought a sense of comfort and curiosity. He opened the door, the creak of the hinges echoing through the grand hall. Inside, he saw kids studying and playing around, their laughter and chatter filling the air.

Among the children, there was a woman with pale skin and dark blue hair. Her bangs were parted slightly to the right, with more pieces of hair covering most of her left brow. She had large, kind teal eyes lined with long lashes and a black beauty mark under her left eye. She wore a nun's habit and a gold cross on a gold bead necklace around her neck.

It was Sister Lily.

Sister Lily was keeping an eye on the children. Upon seeing Zura, she stood up and frowned, her gaze sharp and questioning. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern.

"I..." Zura began, but before he could finish, Noelle entered the scene, her presence commanding attention.

"No need to worry, Sister Lily. He is with me," Noelle asserted confidently, her tone reassuring.

Zura wondered where Asta was. He thought that even if things were different in this world, he might meet Asta in the orphanage.

"Oh!" Sister Lily exclaimed, turning to the kids with a warm smile. "I am going to talk with our guests. Don't make noise, okay?"

The kids nodded in response, their eyes wide with curiosity. Sister Lily turned to Zura and Noelle, her expression softening. "Nash, I am leaving them on you, okay?" she said before leaving the room with them.

She looked at Noelle and then turned to Zura, her eyes filled with curiosity. "Is he... is he the chosen one?" she asked, her voice gentle.

"Yes," Noelle nodded casually, her tone matter-of-fact.

Zura nudged Noelle, his curiosity piqued. "Why does she know about this?" he asked quietly, his voice low.

Noelle brought her face closer to Zura's ear and whispered, "She is the one who did the prophecy."

Zura's eyes widened in surprise. He turned to Sister Lily, his mind racing with thoughts. 'Sister Lily is one of the most likable characters in the series, but... I am in this mess because of her. I don't know what to do.'

"I apologize for my rude behavior," Sister Lily said gently, bowing down. "The Hage village was attacked two months ago, so everyone is keeping their guard up."

"It's okay," Zura replied, his voice steady. "But can I ask where Asta is?"

"Asta?" Sister Lily wondered, her brow furrowing in confusion. "Who is that?"

Zura's mind raced with disbelief and curiosity. "Where is Father Orsi?" he asked, hoping for some answers.

Sister Lily and Noelle exchanged sad looks, their expressions filled with sorrow. "Father Orsi passed away in the attack two months ago," they said gently, their voices heavy with grief.

Zura facepalmed himself, shocked and disbelieving. He had lost the only lead he had. 'That's some shocking development.'

Zura was now convinced that Asta didn't exist in this world, and even if he did, the story didn't turn out as it should have.

"Why are you here, Noelle and…" Sister Lily looked at Zura with a curious look on her face. "May I have your introduction?"

"You can call me Zura," Zura asserted with a nonchalant look on his face. "And we are here to get my grimoire from the grimoire tower."

Lily's face cheered up with a joyful look on her face, and she smiled widely. "So you have decided to help this and the worlds above! I am so happy that my prophecy—"

"Uh… not exactly," Zura interrupted Lily with a hesitant look on his face. "I haven't decided yet."

Zura was still feeling indecisive about whether he was going to stay in this world or not. If what Noelle said about the time disparity was true, then Zura could stay here, but did he truly want to stay in this world?

He was curious to see how things would play out with him as the main character. However, he had one fear.

"What would happen if I die in this world?" Zura asked with a serious look on his face. He wanted to know what would happen to him if he died before deciding whether he should take part in this mess or not.

Lily and Noelle glanced at each other with an understanding look on their faces and nodded. "You will be sent back to your world," Noelle stated. "However, you wouldn't be able to come back to this world."

"So if you are worried about dying here, then you don't have to worry," Lily added with a gentle look on her face.

'A five-clover grimoire should be the best,' he thought to himself with a curious look on his face. 'I also want to go through demonification and see how I look. I mean, demons are the strongest in this world, and if I truly have to fight against the dark triad, then I would need my own demon.'

The grimoire tower held an extensive collection of unclaimed grimoires, which would be given to the 15-year-olds during the Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony. However, there wasn't a specific time or age for getting a grimoire. The minimum age to receive a grimoire was 15, and Zura was 19 years old.

Zura saw Drouot, who was in charge of guarding the tower. He stroked his beard upon seeing Noelle and Zura with a curious look on his face. "What brings you here?" he asked.

Noelle pointed her finger at Zura. "This gentleman needs a grimoire, and the library of the Clover Kingdom is destroyed, so I brought him here."

"I see," Drouot nodded with an understanding look on his face. "You can go and claim your grimoire."

Zura and Noelle entered the grimoire tower, its grand halls and towering shelves offering a sense of comfort and curiosity. They glanced at each other, their expressions reflecting a mix of curiosity and hesitation.

"What?" Noelle asked Zura, her voice tinged with curiosity, when she saw him looking at her.

"I am surprised you didn't tell him about the prophecy and stuff," Zura commented, his tone curious.

"Not all people are supposed to know that," Noelle replied, her voice steady. "Only me, the wizard king, Lady Tsunade, and Sister Lily know about that."

"I would prefer it if it stays like that," Zura scoffed, his tone casual, and walked to the center of the tower, his gaze filled with anticipation.

He closed his eyes, his mind filled with anticipation, and raised his hands to receive a grimoire. However, nothing happened, the silence of the grand hall contrasting with the whirlwind of thoughts and emotions swirling within his mind.

"Is this because I am not from this world?" Zura asked Noelle, his voice hesitant, without opening his eyes.

"If the wizard king sent us to get you a grimoire, then I don't think that's the case," Noelle replied, her voice steady.

Zura waited for a while, his mind filled with anticipation, and after about a minute, a grimoire touched his hands, its form shimmering and grand.

Zura covered the front with his hand, his mind filled with anticipation, and opened his eyes, his gaze hesitant.

'Which is it? How many clovers are there?' he wondered desperately, his mind filled with anticipation. He slowly moved his hand and saw one clover, then two clovers, three clovers. 'There is more. But how many? Four clovers or five clovers?'
