I open my eyes, the right one can see the green leaves of the trees around me whilst the left one perceives grey, no colour, just emotionless grey.
As I rise to my feet, I notice many people around me but only through my left eye. They are deathly pale and have an air of loneliness and despair around them. It is almost as if they are spirits, too full of regret to move on to the afterlife.
I can't hear them, only perceiving them with my left eye. Full of sorrow and guilt, they drag their miserable feet along the dirt.
I realise that I'm surrounded by trees on all sides, not a single human to be seen through this dense forest. The Crimson sky lays an atmosphere of death and terror, causing the spirits around me to attack one another.
Their pale faces change to that of a ghoul and fangs grow from their mouth. Their bony fingers turn to claws and their bodies expand to the size of a silverback. These vengeful spirits are like savage animals, their sense of self dissipated.
*Since I am a human and shouldn't be able to perceive them I should be fine, right?* I think to myself.
Their claws are sharp enough to cut through a redwood with one blow, their body strength enough to lift a car. They are all dropping like flies, their jaw strength is stronger than that of a grizzly bear.
All of a sudden, one of the spirits glances in my direction before sprinting straight at me. This spirit is different, it is shorter, thinner and doesn't seem to have as much strength as the other ones. Its speed however, is nothing to laugh at. It runs towards me at a speed of at least 20 mph, its frail legs moving faster than an olympic runner.
Being highly malnutritioned and almost as pale as the spirits due to my lack of sunlight, I have a lack of strength but lots of speed so I therefore grab a stick layed nearby.
The spirit jumps at me and I hit it round the side of the face with the stick, it comes back and gets hit again. This process carries on for five minutes until it grabs the stick mid swing, snapping it in half. Defenceless, I try to remember what I learnt from living on the streets until 15. It swipes towards my face whilst I slip its blow and right hook it.
After this, it slashes my face with it's long, thin claws. Blood splatters everywhere, my eyes and mouth fill with blood and I can't see my surroundings.
I wipe my eyes and spit the blood into its face, it stumbles back as I throw a deadly overhand. My fist scrapes across spikes that stick out of its head, blood runs down my arm and drips off of my elbow.
As it regains its composure from the last blow, I grab onto the tree branch above my head and swing into it, my feet colliding with the monster's nose.
I notice a chain hanging from its left wrist. Without thinking, I sprint straight at it and grab the chain, wrapping it round the creatures neck. Whilst I am pulling with all my strength, the spikes on the spirit's back dig deep into my chest. The creature groans loudly as its struggled breaths turn to no breaths at all.
It is finally dead.
