Serein lifted a hand to rub at her aching temple. "How did you get my number?"
"That's not important." Sylvan said, sidestepping the question. "How are you feeling? Are you better now?"
He had no intention of admitting that he'd abused his authority to access her personal information. That was a clear violation of the law.
Serein knew that perfectly well. And seeing that he had no intention of answering, she let it go. There were other things she wanted from him anyway.
"Still alive." She replied lightly, her tone edged with mockery. "Thanks for asking."
She knew better than anyone that Sylvan hadn't called her private number just to check on her.
By protocol, he should have gone through Eclipse, or contacted her via her ARC-band, where all communication would be logged and reviewed by the authorized party at Eclipse. Naturally, that authorized party was Zane. Sylvan didn't want Zane knowing about this conversation.
