Clara parked her car in the lot near Eclipse's headquarters, her fingertips tapping a steady rhythm against the steering wheel. She smiled absently, eyes scanning the street, waiting for Serein to appear from one of the narrow paths that led toward the main avenue.
Would Serein be wearing the Eclipse uniform, she wondered? Knowing her temper, probably not. Yet Clara couldn't help but hope—perhaps just a little—to see her friend looking radiant and commanding in that sharp, formal attire.
At least Serein had finally crawled out of her shell, however reluctantly. That alone was reason enough to celebrate. She wasn't running anymore.
Clara allowed herself a small, smug grin. Now she could finally boast to her colleagues, with every bit of the pride she'd been holding in that her best friend was an S-Rank Guide.
They would celebrate tonight. Definitely.
