Inside a training room made of ice and liquid water, with an all-blue sky and a frozen moon hung high above it, Meris Elamin was sitting cross-legged in the middle of a small lake that shimmered with translucent beauty.
Her eyes were closed, her breathing even, as she tried to sink deep into the atmosphere in order to be closer to ice, to become it.
But something was distracting her.
'I miss Kaden…' Meris thought inwardly, and immediately the water molecules around her, which had just started to transform into ice, quivered then shattered by her stray thoughts.
"Meris." A stern voice echoed from behind, making Meris sigh with frustration.
"Mother, I know. I'm trying," she said without turning around.
