I separated from Nami, she went in search of treasures, while I went after the pirates.
Even though I want to deal with all of them, I'll try to take down as many of them individually as possible.
By the way, I stole the bald pirate's sword from earlier, and because of that, I feel even more confident.
Thanks to Li Shang's assimilation, at least now I knew how to handle a sword proficiently.
Although I was still far from Li Shang's level, it should be enough to deal with some random pirates.
"Steps, steps."
I stopped and hid.
"Kuko, Maike."
I clearly heard the hoarse voice of a man.
Even without seeing him, I knew he wasn't far from me and was getting closer.
I held the sword up in the air.
My heart raced.
I knew what I was about to do, but I wasn't fully ready for it.
However, I had made up my mind. Ready or not, I had to do it.
"Kuko, Ma..."
When he entered my line of sight as he came into the hallway on the ship's left side, the pirate with a red bandana on his head, making a cone with his hands in front of his mouth, froze.
Before he could call for help, I used all my strength to attack with the sword.
"Whoosh!"
A silver slash cut through the air.
The speed was so great that I heard a whistle from the sword's blade cutting.
The sound of flesh and bones being torn by the sword's edge was heard.
From the right torso, near the neck down to the waist, the pirate was cut in two.
When the two parts fell to the ground, my stomach churned violently.
The sword in my hand dropped to the floor.
I staggered backward.
The scene was too bloody.
It was different from when I killed the other two.
This time, I could see a lot of blood and even the pirate's guts spilling out.
The pirate's disbelieving eyes were still open and seemed to be staring straight at me on purpose.
I was terrified.
That's when I understood I wasn't as ready as I thought I was.
Leaning against the ship's wooden wall, my head tilted downward and I vomited.
I saw myself pale.
My whole body was shaking.
I had never felt this bad before.
It seemed that only now I understood that I had killed someone.
Maybe subconsciously, I had denied the deaths the other times.
After vomiting, I turned my back to the wall as my body lost strength.
Even without seeing it, I knew my face was white as a sheet.
"Intruders!!"
"Koga, no!!"
"Quick, quick!"
While I was feeling sick, they must have seen the pirate's body cut in half by me.
I forced myself to think fast and act.
Still leaning on the wall, I saw when a pirate turned and found me.
"He's here!"
When he shouted, he was already charging at me with a sword.
Looking at him, my senses weren't working like before.
"Noah!"
From the top of the cabin, I saw when Nami threw something at the pirate who was coming toward me.
"Up there!"
Someone shouted and that made me desperate.
"No!!!"
I screamed, not even knowing what I was denying.
However, I knew I couldn't go on like this.
I had made the bed myself, so I had to lie in it.
Turning to the wall, I slammed my head hard against it.
"Bang!"
At the loud sound, I saw my face mark the wall as I felt a bit dizzy.
"Die!"
A gunshot sound.
Even with the dizziness, I managed to act quickly and duck.
However, I panicked when I realized the shot wasn't aimed at me.
"Nami-nee!"
Screaming for her, I stole the sword from the pirate's hand who had fallen to the ground after being hit in the head by a large cloth bag.
I don't know if he died from that while blood stained my hand, but he stopped fighting to hold the sword.
Now holding the sword, I charged toward the man with the pistol like a cheetah.
"Whoosh!"
"Stop right there!!"
The pirate pointed the pistol at me, but I was too fast to stop.
"Bang!"
With my head, I struck his chest like a bull.
Even without hearing it, I felt with my head the bones in his chest being crushed by my skull.
The firearm slipped from his hand as he was sent flying far away.
"Die!"
At my side, a pirate holding a sword attacked me, but my eyes had turned upward and, when I saw Nami was okay, I sighed in relief, and when I thought of attacking with the sword, I couldn't.
Clenching my free hand into a fist, I chose to punch toward the pirate's jaw, who was too slow to react.
My punch landed precisely, because the cracking sound echoed loudly.
"We, the Mist Wolf Pirates, are not easy targets—you'll learn that the hard way!" shouted a pirate with two swords curved like crab claws.
Looking at the sword in my hand, I thought for a moment before throwing the sword toward this pirate.
Look, I had never done this before, and when I did, the sword didn't go straight, but instead spun very fast like a boomerang.
And the subsequent scene made me regret my action.
"Whoosh!"
"RIP!"
At the sound of tearing, the spinning sword sliced through the pirate's neck.
I know I threw it horizontally, but who would have thought he would duck, and precisely because of that, it would hit his neck?
The moment the head was cut off, it was launched upward.
From the neck, blood started spraying like a burst water pipe.
To my surprise, Nami, who saw this scene, was apparently fine.
'She's used to it…' I thought.
It wasn't strange, really. Not only did she see her mother die before her eyes, but she also witnessed many things while going out to rob pirates.
I, on the other hand, still felt sick.
However, with Nami's life on the line, I forced myself to stay sane and charged toward the pirate who started climbing a ladder.
His goal was clear, but I wouldn't allow them to get close to Nami.
Like a furious bull, I charged toward him.
"Don't come any closer!"
When he saw me, he turned pale as he screamed.
Looking closer, I realized it was the captain of the crew.
I know that because Nami recognized him before everything started and warned me about him.
But who would have thought the captain of a pirate crew would be such a coward?
I was so surprised that I even forgot a bit of my nausea.
"Captain!"
"Captain, watch out!"
Behind me, two pirates were charging with a sword and an axe.
I didn't worry about them and kept charging at the pirate captain, jumping to reach his foot and pulling him down.
"Whoosh!"
I pulled so hard that he was launched downward like a cannonball.
"BANG!"
When his body collided with the floor, the wood broke and his body sank in.
"Ahhhhhh!"
A loud scream of pain echoed throughout the ship.
Meanwhile, I began falling toward the ground.
"Doom!"
With both feet touching the floor, I saw the floor crack slightly under my feet.
I turned and looked at the little more than 20 pirates.
Almost all of them swallowed hard.
"Ahh! Revenge for the captain!"
However, at one's shout, the rest shouted along and charged at me.
Now, unarmed and against many, I found myself terrified again.
When I saw a foot inside the hole that had formed in the bow of the ship, I pulled it.
It was the pirate captain.
I know I shouldn't have thought of it, but I remembered a scene from the anime Beelzebub where the protagonist, Oga, held Alaindelon by the legs to use him as a weapon to fight demons.
Although the situation wasn't the same, holding the pirate captain's foot, I felt a bit wicked when I attacked using him as a weapon.
"Bastard!"
Cursing, the pirates didn't dare advance with their swords, afraid of hitting their captain.
That only made my eyes shine even more.
At least these pirates have some sense.
However, that didn't stop me from continuing to use their captain as a weapon, swinging him from side to side, attacking them.
"Bang!"
But when the captain's head hit another's head...
The scene that unfolded before me made me want to vomit again.
It's not hard to imagine—it was like two watermelons smashing into each other with force.
It wasn't a question of which would break, but rather, which would break first.
In that same instant, I let go of the pirate captain's foot.
