Chapter 5 - OMEGA BLACK

Luna woke up feeling comfortable and energized, as if every part of her body had been recharged. She was momentarily puzzled, wondering why she felt so good, then opened her eyes fully. She blinked a few times, trying to adjust to the light around her. As her vision cleared, her eyes landed on her hands, her skin glowing as beautifully as ever. The soft, almost ethereal quality to it startled her for a moment.

"I used the healing potion, and it worked really well," someone said from the doorway. Luna lifted her head slowly, feeling the weight of her movements. Standing there was a beautiful girl with long, golden blonde hair that cascaded down her back in soft waves, bright blue eyes, and lips tinted a delicate pink.

'Teresa,' Luna speculated inwardly, recognizing the girl at once.

"Teresa," Luna called softly, her voice hoarse from sleep, but the sound of her own words grounded her back in the present.

Teresa stepped further into the room, her expression serious. "Those stupid vampires are really testing my patience. Yesterday they killed five of our employees. If this keeps happening, the company is going to collapse. And let's not forget, it's not a place that just hires anyone," she informed, her brows furrowed deeply in frustration. Luna could sense the undercurrent of anger in her tone, but Teresa kept it under control, for the most part.

Luna felt a sharp twinge of sympathy, her heart aching for those poor souls who had been lost, but she made sure her face remained impassive. Showing emotions in a situation like this could lead to weakness. She had to be strong—there was no other choice.

"Five people? That's a lot," Luna murmured, the weight of it sinking in. Her thoughts flickered to Saul—their lives were at risk, and so was the future of the company. But she kept her emotions carefully locked away, not allowing any traces of pity to show. Not yet.

"I'll go freshen up," she said after a beat, her voice calm as she gently stepped down from the bed, her bare feet meeting the cold floor. She moved with quiet grace, but inside she could feel the nerves stirring beneath her composed exterior. She was still getting used to this body, to her new identity.

"Where is Emma?" she asked, glancing over at Teresa as she made her way to the small bathroom attached to the room.

"I sent her to check on things at the company," Teresa answered, her voice still tight with the lingering irritation over the vampire attacks. Luna just nodded in acknowledgment, her mind already shifting to the other things she needed to focus on.

The day passed by quickly, almost too quickly. It felt like time slipped away like water through her fingers. Luna spent most of the afternoon in the sitting room, poring over papers—official documents, reports, and work left behind by the original female lead. As she flipped through each page, the weight of the responsibilities she now carried settled deeper on her shoulders. The paperwork was tedious and dull, but it had to be done. Luna couldn't afford to falter. Not now.

'Wow,' she couldn't help but gasp inwardly at some of the figures on the company's financial report. The stakes were high, and the numbers were staggering. There were so many people counting on her now. She could feel the pressure already mounting.

'Little by little, I'll get used to this,' she thought to herself, though she didn't believe it entirely. This wasn't going to be easy, but there was no other choice. Luna wasn't sure how much longer she could keep up this charade of simply getting by. She had to prove herself—not just to the people around her, but to herself.

After a while, she stood up from the chair, stretching her stiff muscles. She glanced out of the window, hoping to clear her head. She had been cooped up inside for too long. She needed a breath of fresh air. So, she made her way toward the door, but as she reached it, she noticed the guards standing at attention in the hallway, watching her every move. The Alpha Mega team—unfailingly loyal and unnervingly efficient. Luna stopped in her tracks, frustration building up within her.

She hadn't expected to be followed everywhere, but it seemed that was the reality now. With a resigned sigh, she turned back and headed toward her room instead. The walls felt like they were closing in, but there was no way out for her, not yet.

By the time she laid down on the bed, she was exhausted. She didn't even realize when sleep finally took her.

"Everything here seems boring," Ezekiel complained.

"Let's try doing something fun then. Let's go out and buy some food, you know, have some fun," Simon suggested.

"Still boring," Ezekiel muttered, his voice flat. He leaned back, his gaze distant. "I think life is just... boring."

A vampire appeared, offering them both glasses of blood. Ezekiel refused with a dismissive gesture.

The vampire bowed and left without a word.

"I thought you said you're testy?" Simon asked, confused. He was the only one who could comfortably speak to Ezekiel—both of them were the same age, cousins, and pureblooded vampires. But Zeke, of course, was the crown prince.

"I want fresh blood, directly from a human's body," Ezekiel replied coldly.

Simon shrugged. "Do what you want. There are plenty of humans around." With that, he stood up and left, leaving Ezekiel alone under the apple tree.

His throat burned with dryness, the craving for fresh blood gnawing at him.

Emma got back home, and seeing Luna was asleep, she decided to cook for herself. She headed to the little kitchen, surprising the staff as she entered with purpose. "Just assist me while I cook," she told the cooks with a small smile. They exchanged glances but nodded respectfully, standing aside as she began her work. Emma rolled up her sleeves, determined to do this properly. She decided to make the rich adobo, just the way her mother used to prepare it. The scent of soy sauce, garlic, and vinegar soon filled the air, simmering with a warm, savory aroma.

After she was done, she carefully arranged the food herself on the beautiful dining table. The dining room was big and spacious, its polished marble floor reflecting the light from the chandelier above. Emma set the plates down, adjusted the silverware, and stepped back to admire her work. For once, she felt like she was doing something truly meaningful.

When Luna woke up, she inhaled the sweet scent of the food into her lungs, eyes fluttering open as if drawn by the aroma. She stepped down from the bed gently, yawning as her bare feet touched the cold floor. Moving to the bathroom, she freshened up quickly, running water over her face to push away the remnants of sleep. Her movements were slow but graceful, almost as if she were floating.

After changing into something light and comfortable, she went straight to the dining room and was immediately welcomed by the sight of freshly prepared adobo.

"WOW," she gasped, eyes wide.

"Boss, please come eat. You barely eat these days," Emma said, stepping forward with a hopeful expression.

"You're so kind. Thank you" Luna said, more than grateful, which made Emma blink in surprise. The original pentagonist never said thanks. So why all of a sudden? But Emma didn't take it to heart.

'Maybe she is finally changing,' Emma thought to herself, feeling a small flutter of hope she hadn't felt in a long time.

Luna quickly sat down and started digging in. She hardly ever ate, so it felt like a blessing just to have a moment like this—especially after dying. The food was warm, rich, and flavorful. For the first time in what felt like forever, Luna let herself enjoy it without guilt or hesitation.

After eating, she made her way to the swimming area. It was big, elegant, with crystal-clear water reflecting the skylight above. After changing into the swimsuit Emma had picked out for her, she dove in like a fish, slicing through the water with ease. The coolness of the pool embraced her, washing away lingering tension. She swam with graceful strokes, her mind momentarily free from all burdens.

After swimming for a few minutes…

"Boss… boss," Emma called out, her voice urgent.

Luna surfaced, brushing hair out of her face. "What's the matter, Emma?" she asked, confused.

"The omega black team said there are vampires in the area. You need to go to the DX club," Emma informed her quickly.

Luna's heart jumped up in fright. Her breath caught in her throat as her gaze sharpened. She blinked the water out of her eyes.

"Now what?" she asked,

"Omega block team?" 'Another mafia empire'

"Yes, boss. Lena needs you right now"

"Ok let's go" Luna said without even thinking. Her voice sounded determined to help.

"If you don't want to go I'll call…" she didn't get to finish her statement.

"I need to go there so nothing goes wrong," Luna said boldly. But in truth she was scared.

'Lord, can't they just let this lovely food digest with the cool water touching my skin?' Luna sighed inwardly. 'How the hell am I supposed to handle this situation? A mere human. Am I supposed to go fight vampires like superwoman??' Her head throbbed at the thought.

"Boss, you need to get dressed, please," Emma urged, her voice more urgent now, eyes pleading.

"Yes, of course. Let's go," Luna replied boldly, masking the chaos twisting inside her. Her voice was firm, but her thoughts were spiraling.

Luna, seems like you're dying for real this time, she thought bitterly, trying to summon strength from whatever corner of herself hadn't already crumbled.

They both headed to the bedroom. Luna moved quickly, peeling off her damp swimsuit and throwing on a blue short that clung to her thighs, stopping just above the midline. She matched it with a fitted blue shirt, the same shiny material hugging her curves. The fabric shimmered under the light like water on polished steel. She tugged on a pair of sleek, thigh-high boots—deep ocean blue and gleaming like glass.

Her long black hair flowed down her back, cascading over her slender shoulders like dark silk. She didn't bother with makeup—she never needed it. Even bare-faced, she looked like a seductive goddess pulled straight from a myth, dangerous and divine.

Without another word, they climbed into the black SUV. The ride was long—an hour that stretched like three. They didn't speak much during the drive, tension pressing against the windows like fog. The road twisted away from the comfort of Luna's territory, leading them toward something darker.

When they finally arrived, Luna stepped out of the car, the night air cool against her skin. The club loomed ahead—dark, loud, alive with heat and sin.

"I better get going" Luna said

"Yes boss. Lena will keep in touch with you" Luna nodded.

The SUV pulled away, leaving Luna standing alone at the curb.

Ezekiel was still hungry for blood. The craving gnawed at his insides like fire beneath his skin. He clenched his jaw, eyes glowing faintly under the moonlight. The taste of his last kill had faded too fast, and now the hollow ache returned with sharp vengeance.

He decided to head to the DX club—maybe he could kill someone there to quench his thirst. A low chuckle escaped his lips at the thought. With that hunger guiding him, he left the house and vanished into the night.

Luna was very confused. The earpiece they gave her crackled in her ear, making her flinch slightly.

"Boss, it's me, Lena, the leader of Omega Black, do you copy?"

"Yes yes, Lena?" she asked, overwhelmed, eyes flicking around nervously.

"Yes. Go inside. We're on guard here. You just need to look closely for any vampires—we'll guard the perimeter."

Luna let out a breath and gave a low "hmm" in response. With a tightening jaw, she boldly stepped through the doors of the huge bar. The scent of alcohol and smoke hit her immediately, strong and suffocating. The place was alive with chaos—people smoking, drinking, laughing, kissing, grinding against each other. Loud music with a heavy beat pounded through the speakers, making it hard to think.

"Crazy, crazy," she mumbled under her breath, pushing her way through the crowd.

Her eyes scanned each face carefully. She moved quietly, slipping between bodies, trying not to attract attention. Everyone seemed lost in their own world, dancing wildly, their pupils dilated, their skin sticky with sweat. Something about the scene unsettled her—it felt too wild, too unnatural.

Minutes dragged by as she checked corners, booths, even the VIP lounge. Still nothing.

About thirty minutes passed before Lena's voice came through again, slightly distorted.

"Boss, you found another?"

"Nothing so far," she replied quietly, frustration edging into her voice.

"Boss, I think you should go check in those restrooms."

"Ok ok," she said, turning toward the hallway. Her steps grew slower, more measured, as she approached the back. Her hand instinctively brushed her thigh. With a smooth motion, she pulled out a small knife, its edge glinting under the dim light. She gripped it tightly.

Acting like a real mafia boss, she moved stealthily, her eyes sharp, her breath steady. Then she heard it—screams. Faint, muffled, but definitely coming from one of the restrooms. Her pulse quickened.

She pressed her back to the wall beside the door, counted to three, and then shoved it open with her shoulder.

Her mouth fell open.

"Ah!!"

The scream ripped out of her before she could stop it. In front of her stood Ezekiel—half-naked, his toned body pressed against a woman. His lower body was joined with hers. But that wasn't what made Luna freeze. His mouth was latched onto the woman's neck, drinking her blood with a hunger that made her stomach twist.

Her vision blurred. The shock was too much.

Luna collapsed to the floor, the knife clattering beside her.
