Two days later…
The graveyard is quiet as the last of the black umbrellas close and the marble tomb of the late Ogrim Von Horitzberg seals with a heavy, echoing thunk.
Vaela stands a few steps behind Lucien, watching his posture remain composed despite the grief rippling just under the surface. His back is straight, his hands clasped behind him, his black-on-black suit flawless. Beside him stands Eve, stoic and statuesque. Around them, the family mourners begin to disperse like black oil across the grass, murmuring condolences and business inquiries in the same breath.
Vaela turns to look at the limo. Elsuana, Thalos, Kai, and Lilith all quietly filter into the sleek obsidian vehicle waiting just beyond the cemetery gates. All dressed in somber shades of black, with varying degrees of restraint.
Lucien had opted to travel with his family, as is expected of him.
But another figure lingers by the grave.
