Chapter 74 - III:Eclipse Birthmark

The bloody moonlight was filtered by the colored window and turned into a dark red like pus. When it condensed into floating grease blocks on the surface of the bath, Alyssa was rubbing the slave brand on her left shoulder with a pumice stone. The bronze medicine spoon suddenly slipped from her fingers and sank into the black water at the bottom of the pool - there floated the residue of the medicine that Kane poured on her back last night, mixed with the broken nails of the blood sacrifice and the corpse of lily of the valley.

"Damn..." She stared at her reflection in the water. The red mark on her left shoulder from the pumice stone suddenly twisted into a crescent shape. Blue blood oozed from the edge of the mark, like a scar burned by moonlight. When her fingertips touched the bite mark left by Kane, the crescent suddenly grew longer, and the thorn pattern crawled along the collarbone to the heart, just like the forbidden spell diagram drawn by the Silver Wolf Priest on the code three hundred years ago.

The wailing wall reliefs on the edge of the bath began to seep water. Alyssa pulled a linen towel over her body and crushed the moonlight on the water with her bare feet. The poison hemlock vines that emerged from the cracks in the stone bricks suddenly wrapped around her ankles, and when the sharp thorns pierced her skin, the thorn birthmark suddenly became hot - the pain felt like a living thing laying eggs under her skin.

"Slaves should learn to knock." Cain kicked the bathroom stone door open with the tip of his black iron boot. Alyssa leaned back against the cold and damp relief of the Wailing Wall. The moment the towel slipped off, the birthmark on her left shoulder was reflected in the lord's pupils - the crescent moon had spread into a thorny vine, the end of which pointed to the old wound on her heart.

The moment the moonlight shifted through the stained glass window, the tip of Kane's scepter lifted her chin. Alyssa's birthmark suddenly twitched, and the vine patterns formed the outline of a crown of thorns under her skin. She saw the black thorns at the heart under the lord's torn clothes resonating with her birthmark, and each thorn was oozing blue blood under the moonlight.

"The gift of the eclipse." Cain suddenly grabbed her left shoulder, his five fingers digging into the birthmark. Alyssa's eclipse flame burst out uncontrollably, the blue flame burned along the scepter to the lord's wrist, but it suddenly extinguished when it touched the black thorns. In the severe pain, she flashed back to the scene of her mother's childbirth - the same crescent birthmark was embroidered on the curtain of the delivery bed, which was cut off by the midwife with a silver knife.

Lucien's cold jade light flashed across the dome. Alyssa raised her knee to push Kane's abdomen while screaming in pain, and the lord knocked over the bronze medicine furnace as he retreated. The boiling medicine soup splashed on the reliefs of the Wailing Wall. The weeping faces suddenly opened their eyes, and the pupils reflected the complete birthmark on Alyssa's back - which had now spread into a thorn totem that entangled the twins.

The bathroom floor tiles suddenly collapsed. As Alyssa fell into the underground spring, she grabbed the hanging hemlock vine. The barbs on the vine cut her palm, and her blood mixed with the flames of the lunar eclipse dripped into the undercurrent, dyeing the spring water fluorescent blue. The sarcophagus of the first generation of Silver Wolf King emerged from the bottom of the water. Her crescent birthmark was engraved on the surface of the coffin lid, and the birth runes of Cain and Lucien were surrounded by the edges.

"So it's here." Lucien's claws pierced the dome stone bricks. Alyssa's birthmark suddenly froze, and the thorn pattern degenerated into a crescent scar. When she grasped the chain on the edge of the coffin lid and climbed up, she found that each link of the chain was embedded with a miniature crown, which perfectly matched the vine pattern of her birthmark.

Kane's scepter smashed the water, and black thorns grew from the tip of the scepter, entangled Alyssa's waist and dragged her back to the bathroom. The lord tore off the towel on her left shoulder, and under the moonlight, the birthmark had turned into a complete crown of thorns, with Lucien's emerald fragment embedded in the center of the crown.

"The game is getting more and more interesting." Kane's canine teeth suddenly pierced the center of the birthmark. Alyssa's eclipse flames boiled in her blood vessels, but she couldn't burn the lord who was close at hand - their blood had mixed in the underground spring, and now it was forming a strange symbiosis through the birthmark.

The stone door of the bathroom slammed shut. In the darkness, Alyssa groped for a half-broken bronze mirror, which reflected the changes on her back—the birthmark vines had penetrated her skin, growing real thorns in the air, and each thorn tip was hung with silver-blue blood beads. When the blood drops fell onto the floor tiles, black vines identical to those on Kane's heart emerged from the cracks in the tiles.

The midnight bell rang from underground. Alyssa's birthmark suddenly shrank into a crescent, and the thorn pattern retreated to below the collarbone. She picked up the medicine spoon that sank to the bottom of the bathtub and found that the handle of the spoon was engraved with her mother's name, and on the back was a route map drawn with fetal blood - leading directly to the spring chamber where the first king's sarcophagus was located.

Before the moonlight was swallowed by the dark clouds, Alyssa saw the changes in the bathroom's wailing wall: the corners of the mouths of all the human face reliefs rose at the same time, revealing the same smile as Lucien's madness. Her birthmark began to heat up again, and the vine pattern spelled out a new silver wolf pattern under the skin - **The blood of the twins will irrigate the crown to bloom**.

The sound of the secret door sliding open startled ripples in the bath. When Alyssa hid the bronze mirror fragment in her hair, she touched a faded bell tied to a strand of hair - it was the contract token from her mother's wedding. Blue blood oozed from the inner wall of the bell, drawing a crooked thorn totem on the ground, the end of which pointed to the crack left by Cain's scepter.

When the bloody moonlight pierced through the dark clouds again, there was no sign of anything unusual on Alyssa's left shoulder. Only the fluorescent blue blood that permeated the bathtub and the vibration of the chains coming from the direction of the sarcophagus proved that the transformation brought about by the lunar eclipse was far from over.
