Another voice answered. "I think it came from the storage."
Kyan's whole body stiffened.
They were done.
Another step.
Then another.
The knob turned.
Kyan's heart stopped.
Then—
"Oh. Damn rats," the guard muttered. "Always squeaking and making weird sounds."
The door didn't open.
Just a loud sigh and the footsteps fading again.
Nico waited a beat, then two.
Kyan ripped his mouth free from Nico's hand, whispering frantically, "Did he just call me a rat?"
Nico grinned, leaning back in, lips brushing Kyan's ear. "If you moan like that again, softie… I might just make you earn the title."
Kyan, breathless and red to his ears: "I hate you."
"Liar."
They didn't move from that tight little space, still tangled, still tempted.
But now?
A little quieter.
And ten times hotter.
Morning.
Kyan blinked awake, face buried in a stiff hotel pillow, hoodie halfway off his shoulder, one leg tangled under a heavy arm.
