The Next Morning – 7:21 AM, Westview Middle School
Leo Foster walked through the school gates like any other day hoodie half-zipped, backpack slung over one shoulder, earbuds dangling but not playing anything.
The bruise on his cheek was light now. Barely there.
Just a dull yellow patch of something he couldn't remember earning.
And that was the weirdest part.
He couldn't remember.
No matter how hard he tried.
There was a blur Billy Morton, something about a fight, a flash of gold—
But after that?
Nothing.
Not even a dream.
Jeasus waved him over at the lockers.
"Yo! You okay, man? Heard Billy got sent home early yesterday. Everyone says you wrecked him."
Leo blinked.
"...I did what?"
Jeasus narrowed his eyes. "You seriously don't remember? Dude—he went down like a cutscene. You hit him with some kinda combo, and boom—lights out. Some kids even sketched it out like a comic strip. I think Jamal's trying to animate it in Flash."
