As soon as the sun rises early in the morning, apart from the chirping of birds, there is nothing but silence in the air. Two full days have passed, and yet there is no sign, no trace, no message from Qasim. It's as if he has vanished without a sound. Yousif, however, has recovered—his wounds have healed, and he can now walk again.
[Abdul Rehman's POV]
When Abdul Rehman returns to his home, a strange feeling takes over his heart. As he steps inside, something immediately catches his eye—a wooden box, lying on the ground, fallen from its place. Alarmed, he rushes over and kneels beside it, lifting it carefully. His hands tremble slightly as he opens the box, and inside it, wrapped in a faded cloth, he finds a book.
He slowly takes the book into his hands. The cover is aged, almost sacred in appearance.
"العيش من جديد"
To Live Again
He stares at the title for a moment, as if the name itself is speaking to him. Then, with cautious hands and a heavy heart, he opens the book to its first page.
And written there—in handwriting he immediately recognizes—are the words:
"If you've opened this book… then it means one thing for sure: I'm no longer with you.
I'm not alive.
There are people out there who wanted me dead. And maybe, in some way or another, they've succeeded.
If you choose to read this book, then know this—you will uncover every secret I ever held.
You will learn every skill I ever mastered.
And even the ones I never got the chance to learn—I've tried to preserve them in these pages, protected from the very people who wished me harm.
This book is in your hands now. And with it, the responsibility.
Just remember one thing:
When power comes to you, never choose the path of evil.
Always stand for truth—no matter how hard it gets.
And if there's anything you ever want to do for me… then let it be this:
Don't let yourself become a bad person.
Save yourself from darkness."
And this…
This was the second time he read those words.
The very same words written on the first page of the book—the very same page he had once read before.
Just then, he notices a clue inside the book. It's only a short sentence, but it catches his heart like a whisper from destiny itself.
"Always stay away from evil… and stand firmly by the side of truth."
Something about that line feels deeper than it seems. As if… it wasn't written for just anyone. As if it was meant for this very moment in his life. Somewhere deep inside, Abdul Rehman feels that this message—this one sentence—might be for someone else too.
For Umm-e-Farwah.
His heart begins to race. Without giving himself time to think, he sets out toward her home. But when he reaches near, he stops.
His feet freeze.
His voice fails.
He wants to speak to her—wants to tell her everything—but he can't gather the courage. There's a weight on his chest… because he had made a promise.
So instead of facing her, he turns quietly and starts walking down the road that leads past her house. Lost in his thoughts, he keeps walking, unaware of where his steps are taking him.
"Where is Qasim? Why hasn't he been seen for days?" he wonders.
"And where is Abid? How could he just disappear like that? Abid… where are you?"
Suddenly, as he walks down the path, he comes across a place—something catches his eye. A patch of land, silent and still. There is something there…
Something that looks like a grave.
He frowns, confused.
"A grave? Here? Why?"
His steps slow as he moves toward it cautiously. The air around him grows still. He looks around—but nothing makes sense.
And just as he's about to turn back, something on the ground catches his eye again—an object, lying beside the grave-like mound.
He walks over to it.
He bends down.
He picks it up slowly.
His heart skips a beat.
It's something he recognizes.
Something Abid used to wear.
He holds it tightly in his hands—staring at it, his chest heavy with questions. Without wasting a second, he turns around and rushes toward Umm-e-Farwah's house.
He knocks on the door.
Umm-e-Farwah opens it.
And as soon as she sees Abdul Rehman standing in front of her—her eyes light up with relief. A small, hopeful smile forms on her lips.
For a moment…
She thinks it's Abid.
That maybe he's come back.
But… it isn't him.
Without saying a word, she throws her arms around Abdul Rehman and hugs him tightly.
Tears press against her eyes as she asks:
"Baba… where is Abid?"
Abdul Rehman's voice is calm, but heavy.
"I found something," he says. "I think it might belong to him.
If you can recognize it… maybe it'll help me find him."
He slowly takes the object from his hand and holds it out to her.
She takes one look… and her eyes fill with emotion. Her lips tremble. Her hands start shaking as she touches the item.
"I made this with my own hands," she whispers.
"I gave this to him myself.
Yes… it's his.
It's definitely his."
Abdul Rehman leans closer and asks her gently,
"Are you sure? You're absolutely sure it's his?"
She nods, tears now streaming down her face.
"Yes… yes, it's his.
Where did you find it?
Please Baba… tell me!"
She begins to cry.
Abdul Rehman places a hand on her shoulder and softly says:
"Don't cry. This means we're close.
Think of it this way—Abid has been found.
I will bring him back soon."
Through her tears, Umm-e-Farwah says:
"Then let me come with you… please, let me go too."
But Abdul Rehman looks into her eyes and replies firmly:
"No. You stay here.
I made a promise.
I will find him.
And I will bring him back."
With those words, he turns again—this time with purpose—and walks back to the same place where he had found the object.
Back to the spot where the unknown… might reveal the truth.
