Evening, the sea, and the whispers of our hearts
In the soft, moving breeze of the sea, the chirping birds were returning to their nests…
The setting sun looked even more enchanting as those tiny silhouettes flew across its golden light.
Ramish spoke softly:
"Richer… if you still haven't been able to separate my memories from yourself,
then this is love.
And if it is love…
then you should express it—
before it's too late.
Otherwise the heart's truths remain buried under the fear of the world,
and a person spends their whole life regretting the moment they lost."
Richer stayed silent.
His silence was the echo of his heart—
as if something fragile inside him was breaking apart,
as if the fear of the world still held his steps back.
Ramish noticed the faint shadow of worry on his face,
so he leaned close and gently kissed Richer's forehead.
"Richer, it's okay…
Take as much time as you need.
I will wait."
A slow smile bloomed on Richer's face.
He held Ramish's hand, lowered his gaze and whispered:
"Thank you… for understanding."
Ramish pointed toward the horizon.
"Look, Richer… how beautiful this sunset is.
The scattered colors of the sun spread across the sea like a dream.
Richer, you are just like this sun—
beautiful, vivid, and captivating in every form.
Your smile shines like the hidden colors behind the clouds.
Your eyes… are deep like this ocean—
I could drown in them forever.
The blush on your cheeks looks like the sun's gentle red.
And when I look at you,
I don't want to look anywhere else."
Richer blushed, letting out a shy laugh.
"Ramish… you're beautiful too.
Look how the sunlight is making your face glow."
Ramish smiled.
"That's not the sunlight…
It's the colors of your love, Richer."
Richer instantly placed his finger on Ramish's lips, shyly stopping him.
"Enough…
Stay quiet now.
Come… let's watch the sunset together."
They both sat silently, watching the sun melt into the horizon.
After a few moments, Ramish said quietly:
"Richer… I used to think I would never get to see this view with you again.
In Dubai, whenever I felt lonely, I would walk to the beach alone…
And as the sun went down, I thought of you."
Richer's eyes widened in surprise.
Gently, he said:
"Ramish… whenever I felt lonely,
whenever the silence inside me became unbearable…
I also went to the sea.
The same shore, the same waves—
and the memories of you walking beside me
would hurt me so much.
I tried to escape those memories,
but I couldn't.
I spent so many nights walking alone along the beach.
Sometimes I just sat, quietly watching the sunset…
I began to love sunsets only after you left.
I started going there… to feel you again."
Ramish looked at him—
in their eyes, the same pain,
the same longing,
the same unspoken love flowed silently between them…
finally finding its voice.
Ramish said softly,
"Come, Richer… let's walk along the shore and bring our old memories back to life."
Richer smiled and nodded.
"Okay… let's go."
Both of them stood up and began walking barefoot on the sand.
The cool, gentle waves touched their feet, moved ahead, and then quietly returned…
as if the sea itself had come to see whether these two hearts were still close to each other.
For a while, they walked in silence.
Then suddenly, Ramish bent down, scooped water in both hands…
and splashed it onto Richer.
Richer gasped,
"Ramish! My clothes will get wet!"
But before he could finish speaking, Ramish had already splashed more water on him.
Richer said in pretend anger,
"Ramish… you won't stop, will you? Wait a minute, let me show you!"
He rushed toward the water.
Ramish laughed and ran ahead.
Richer gathered water in his hands and threw it at Ramish too.
And just like that—
the two of them began running across the shore, splashing water at each other,
laughing, chasing, out of breath…
playing like carefree children.
At last, Richer caught Ramish.
With a mischievous smile he said,
"Come on… now let me soak you completely so you'll know what it feels like to be wet in this cold wind!"
Ramish laughed quickly,
"No, no—don't do that! I want to sit here for a while… with you. If I get wet, we'll have to go back."
Richer burst out laughing.
"Alright, alright—but no more mischief.
And honestly… after all that walking in the mall, and all this playing here, I'm tired enough already.
Come, let's sit for a while."
Hearing that, Ramish immediately sat down and said,
"Come… sit on my back. I'll give you a free ride."
Richer laughed,
"But hey… you're tired too!"
Ramish answered gently,
"When I'm with you, I never feel tired… come on, sit."
Richer sat on his back.
Ramish looked toward the sea and said,
"The evening has fallen… if you want, we can go back to the hotel now."
Richer smiled softly,
"We can go… but we can stay a little longer too.
I feel like your heart doesn't want to leave yet."
Ramish exhaled slowly and said,
"It's true… my heart wants to stay.
But you're tired too."
Richer rested his cheek on Ramish's shoulder and whispered,
"It's okay… the tiredness will fade.
I can do at least this much for you, Ramish."
Ramish, carrying Richer on his back as he walked along the moist sand of the shore, whispered softly:
"O breeze… join together the tale of this love, the way souls become bound to one another.
O evening… mix your sweetness into this love and give it a taste more delicate, more tender, more beautiful than anything else in this world."
Richer let out a gentle laugh, resting his face near Ramish's neck as he asked,
"Ramish… why don't we let the fragrance of this love settle into our souls?
So that this love may not live only in our hearts… but find a home in our very spirits forever."
Hearing this, Ramish's steps paused for a moment.
The soft evening wind swirled around them, as if it too wanted to become a part of their growing affection.
In that tender moment, Richer leaned forward with a loving smile and placed a sweet kiss on Ramish's cheek.
Ramish's breath caught… and a gentle warmth, a soft light, filled his heart—
a light that felt like the most beautiful memory of his entire life.
Shy but trembling with emotion, Ramish asked,
"Do you really want to let this fragrance of love live inside your soul?"
Richer answered softly,
"Yes… maybe I do.
Maybe I want to hold the love of your friendship inside me."
Ramish replied in a low, sincere voice,
"I love you more than friend not just a friend."
Richer smiled gently and said,
"I know. That is why I asked time for you."
Ramish silently nodded… and continued walking, carrying Richer on his back as the waves whispered around them.Bottom of Form
The waves kept brushing against their feet like gentle heartbeats…
The evening breeze carried a strange, soothing calm…
as if this moment had stopped in time,
settling forever inside both of their hearts.
