Ricardo was still trying to calm Diana down when Rico entered the room. He looked a little bit anxious and Ricardo could tell.
"What is it this time?" He asked.
"We received a call from Sapphire's former agency and she would like to come here tomorrow to negotiate her contract."
Diana wiped her tears and replied.
"That won't be a problem, I will meet her
tomorrow." However, Rico didn't leave and remained there, Diana said.
"Is there anything else?" She asked.
"Yes, actually. When she said she wanted to come here to renegotiate her terms, she wanted to meet directly with Mr. Croft." He revealed.
"Why did she make such request? She's just a rising celebrity, not an A-lister. Who does she think she is?" Diana was getting upset.
"Well, she has won a newcomer award before and her name is quite trending right now. She's a valuable star to consider." He paused for a few seconds before continuing.
"Besides, she said if Mr. Croft doesn't
personally meet her, she will move to Venus Entertainment instead."
Upon hearing that, Ricardo slammed the
table.
"How arrogant!" He exclaimed. Everyone in the industry knew that Croft Universe and Venus Entertainment were rivals.
She was playing with him. She didn't even have to go through casting at all to be accepted by their agency, that's a great privilege.
However, Diana had declared her role in their upcoming movie. Ricardo didn't want to embarrass his fiancee any further. He also didn't want to lose a potential A-lister like her to his rival.
"You know what, fine! Let's give her what she wants this time. Tell her I will meet here tomorrow at nine in the morning."
"I'm going to give her a satisfactory contract." Rico nodded and walked out of the room. When it was just the two of them, Diana turned to Ricardo.
"Ricardo, next time, let me deal with the
celebrities' contract. If you, the CEO is doing it, then why am I even here for?" She pouted.
What? Are you afraid that I'm going to steal your job from you? He asked. She nodded, faking a sad face.
Ricardo reached out his hand to touch her face.
What are you saying? You're going to be my wife and the future mother to my children. Don't ever question your position in my life ever again. He comforted her.
Yes, Ricardo thought he was going to get married to Diana and they would become a family. So she was a woman of value to him.
Speaking of children, he was suddenly reminded by the conversation he had with the hacker. He claimed himself to be his son.
Rose was back from work. She was tired and wanted nothing but to rest. She walked inside the penthouse and smelt a delicious scent in the air. It drew her to the kitchen and she saw the triplets making dinner.
They were too short to deal with the stove, so she bought these toddler ladders to help them with cooking before, and it had become a rather common sight.
Babies, mum are back. What are you guys making? She walked in and asked them.
Mum, welcome home! We are just making some rice and chicken curry for dinner. Ivy also made a dessert so we could have it afterward! Evan said as he adjusted the heat of the stove.
Ah, my children are so smart. Be careful while cooking, okay. Don't injure yourself. She praised and reminded them.
Don't worry, mum. We are experts now. We learnt basic safety from that Michelin-starred chef before. We'll be fine. Eric replied as he plated the rice for them. Once the meal was cooked, Rose helped to pour the curry into the bowl and they had their dinner.
While eating, the children started asking questions.
How did your contract go, mum? Evan asked.
Hm, mum didn't get this contract because I was not qualified enough, but tomorrow I will go out and sign a new contract. She replied.
Ah, you're not working with the agency anymore? Eric added.
Yes, I'm temporarily moving to a different agency.
What agency, mum? Ivy asked curiously.
Hm, do you really want to know? She asked, teasing them.
Yes! If you don't tell us, how can we help you if there are bad guys there? Evan answered with passion.
Okay, okay, I will tell you. She took a deep breath.
Croft Universe, have you heard of them? The children exchanged gazes with each other when they heard the name. Ah, it was their father's company.
Surely, their mother was aware of it and it was part of her plan too. How exciting!
After dinner was over, Rose got the children ready for bed and tucked them in.
Have a sweet dream, my cute babies. She said as she kissed all of them. Once she left the room, the babies giggled at each other.
Tomorrow, mum is going to deal with the bad guy. I can't wait for it.
The next morning, the three children woke up early. They got ready and then walked into Rose's room to wake her up.
Mum, come on, wake up! Let's deal with the bad guy today! They said as they shook her body. Mia woke up from the motion and looked at her children's cute faces early in the morning. Ah, what did she do to be so blessed?
Can we come with you? They asked.
No, today the three of you are going to kindergarten. The children pouted.
