She released a smile on her lips, tired. She clenched his hand. "Thank you, son."
She laid back down, and she turned to me. I was being silent, and when she turned to me, her eyes were almost unreadable.
She asked, "You should get back. It's late, and thank you for watching over my son."
She said with a tired smile.
