"Kokabiel, you crave war, don't you?"

After Rias and the others left, Arthas spoke slowly, stepping forward, his obsidian greatsword held poised.

The serene moonlight illuminated the courtyard, which had inexplicably taken on a dreamy, ice-blue hue.

"Indeed, I crave war. So what?" Kokabiel said unconcernedly, though his guard was up. He wasn't truly afraid of Arthas.

After all, Kokabiel was a living fossil from the ancient wars, a Devil King-level being with immense pride.

"You're strong, boy. That must be a Divine Dividing Class. You might become a formidable opponent someday, but now… you're no match for me! Witness the crushing difference in power!"

Roaring, Kokabiel attacked Arthas again.

His fist was caught. Kokabiel's eyes widened; his attack had been effortlessly stopped.

"Your strength… is insufficient."

Arthas said lightly, his obsidian greatsword swinging down towards Kokabiel.

Kokabiel's eyes narrowed. He didn't dare to block that strike with his body.

Divine Dividing Class weapons were always the most powerful and mysterious. Caution was necessary when facing the unknown.

The force from Arthas's grip was even greater than Kokabiel had anticipated. Unable to break free immediately, Kokabiel leaped back.

Frostmourne grazed his waist, leaving a trail of frost.

As Kokabiel had anticipated, the greatsword, while intimidating, lacked agility. In close combat, it was useless.

Though the icy aura was unpleasant, it was bearable.

Arthas raised an eyebrow, clearly aware of this, and smiled faintly.

He thinks his power relies solely on that greatsword?

Without Frostmourne, Arthas excelled at close-quarters combat.

Kokabiel hadn't savored his advantage long before noticing Arthas sheathing Frostmourne. As he wondered what Arthas intended, Arthas grabbed his wing.

"You… aaaaaah!!!"

Kokabiel's physique was incredibly strong, but even the hardest material became brittle when frozen.

The moment Arthas's hand touched Kokabiel's wing, an intense chill spread, instantly freezing the wing solid. Arthas effortlessly tore it off.

While not a significant injury, having a wing ripped off was a profound humiliation for Kokabiel. Enraged, he broke free, gathering light.

"Die!" He roared, a spear of light splitting into countless fragments, raining down on Arthas.

"How did someone of your strength survive a war that brought down even God? Hiding in a rat hole, weeping?" Arthas taunted, facing the onslaught of light.

The obsidian greatsword reappeared, plunging into the ground.

A wall of ice erupted, an unbreakable shield, blocking Kokabiel's light spears.

"Is that all, Kokabiel? You disappoint me."

The light spears couldn't pierce Arthas's barrier, shattering into glittering dust upon impact.

"Damn it! Don't get cocky, brat!" Kokabiel formed another light spear, but instead of throwing it, he charged, wielding it like a sword.

"I'll smash through that flimsy barrier!"

Light exploded in the night sky, air crackling with friction, a fierce wind whipping up black feathers.

Kokabiel, wielding the light spear, swooped down like a hunting hawk. But he was met with an obsidian greatsword radiating a sinister aura.

"Idiot!"

Arthas mocked mercilessly, meeting Kokabiel's attack with Frostmourne.

A violent clash erupted in Kuoh Academy's courtyard, fragments of ice and light flying everywhere, the barrier trembling under the immense power.

"Arthas… why is he so strong?"

Watching the fantastical battle—the enraged Kokabiel, and the effortlessly skillful Arthas—Rias felt a sense of unreality.

Her Pawn possessed such immense power, yet she, his master, knew nothing about it.

Rias had always considered Arthas strong, but only at the lower-to-middle-class devil level. But… now he could face a Devil King alone?!

"Actually… Arthas never said he wasn't strong."

Koneko tilted her head, and Akeno added,

"That's right… before, Arthas's opponents were too weak; they fell before he even exerted himself."

"Wait… so Arthas has always been this strong?! I didn't know!"

"Ara, ara, Rias, you're a terrible master."

Akeno teased Rias, who could only glare.

"But… he's too strong. That magnificent, dazzling power… it makes you forget about even trying to catch up."

Gazing at the battle that excluded them, Akeno sighed softly. A hint of loneliness and sadness appeared in the eyes of the usually strong and assertive woman.
