It was Friday, and the anticipation was palpable as the team prepared for the highly anticipated meeting with the clients. The atmosphere was charged with expectation, with everyone harboring high hopes for a successful outcome. Mirabel instructed Maya, Ethan, and Vicky to handle the meeting, while she and Dianne would supervise the proceedings. However, the tension between Mirabel and Vicky was evident, their usually warm relationship currently strained due to a rough patch they were going through.
The warm and loving look they once gave each other had faded. Mirabel wondered if another love story of hers was about to come to an end; she wondered if her heart was going to get shattered yet again. Vicky, on the other hand, couldn't shake off the burden in his heart. He didn't know what to do or what was hidden inside his heart. Why was he suddenly worried about Rose? Was this just a feeling of humanity, or was it something else? Was it love? He couldn't bear the fact that he and Mirabel had grown further apart, but he also couldn't muster the courage to confront her.
They all waited in the reception area, eagerly awaiting the clients' arrival. Vicky and Mirabel's eyes met, and they both conveyed unspoken feelings to each other. Just then, Rose arrived, and Vicky's gaze averted from Mirabel and dropped on Rose. Mirabel's eyes narrowed, her expression turning annoyed as she watched Vicky's reaction. Without a word, Mirabel angrily left the reception area and headed to the boardroom, her emotions simmering just below the surface.
Vicky's heart sank as he watched Mirabel walk away. Rose glanced at him and made her way past the reception. "Vicky, are you okay?" Dianne asked, moving close to him. "Yeah, I am alright," Vicky replied.
The tension was palpable, and they all wondered what was going on between Vicky and Mirabel and what was going to happen in the meeting with the clients. As the clients arrived, they comprised of two men and a woman, Dianne quickly rushed to them, giving them a warm greeting as she shook hands with them. "Good morning, welcome to the Journals," she said. "Good morning," the woman said, "we're so glad to be here and are eagerly awaiting your presentation. Hope you're ready..." "Yes ma'am, we are. Prepare to be swept off your feet," Dianne replied. "Alright, shall we begin?" the woman asked.
The clients, , were escorted to the boardroom, and the meeting was about to commence. A brief discussion was held between Maya, Ethan, and Vicky, and then, with a confident smile, Vicky initiated the proceedings. "Good morning, everyone. Welcome to our meeting today. We're excited to discuss the project details and explore how we can meet your needs." Maya nodded in agreement, her eyes scanning the room to ensure that everyone was on the same page. "We're looking forward to a productive discussion and exploring ways to collaborate effectively."
"Alright, basically, we have to convey the essence of the device to the consumers and why they have to purchase it," Vicky said. "So, in this ad, we tried to do just that," he continued. He paused for a while and then continued, "Visualize this: a serene moonlight landscape with gentle hills and a peaceful lake in the background, a person wearing the Dreamweaver facemask with a relaxed expression, soft golden light enveloping the scene, symbolizing a restful night's sleep. Gentle animations of clouds and a soothing sound of nature, a calming melody that gradually fades into the background as the person drifts off to sleep. This effectively conveys the comfort and relaxation that Dreamweaver offers. This ad concept aims to evoke a sense of relaxation, comfort, and rejuvenation."
"The action point is sleep better and live better with Dreamweaver," Maya added. "I like the idea; it's nice, and I think it would go well with the product. The relaxed expression explains Dreamweaver's use," one of the men said, nodding his head. "Truly, the rumors we've heard about the Journals are real; you guys are the real deal." "Thank you," Maya said.
"Personally, I think the product is mind-blowing, a mask that helps relieve the stress of the day, a mask that eases worries," Vicky said, looking into Mirabel's eyes. "A mask that guarantees a peaceful sleep, one without stress, a mask that helps you dream of the one you really care a lot about." Mirabel's face bloomed with happiness as she heard those words from Vicky's mouth. "He still cares," she thought, looking into his eyes.
"Alright then, we're gonna work with this ad, and we'll send the go-ahead confirmation in two to three days, but what I will say is congratulations," the woman said, extending her hands to Mirabel. "Thank you very much; we are looking forward to hearing from you," Mirabel replied, accepting her handshake.
The clients arose as Maya and Ethan, escorted them out of the boardroom, leaving Mirabel and Vicky alone. For a moment, they remained silent, their hearts connected as they stared at each other. "I..." Mirabel and Vicky said at the same time. "You go first," Vicky said. "No, Vicky, I want to hear what you have to say," Mirabel replied. "Look, I am sorry...I..." Vicky paused, his eyes drifting toward the door as he heard Rose's voice asking for forgiveness just a few meters away from the boardroom.
"That's Rose," Vicky said, rushing outside without another word. Mirabel's expression turned from tender to frustrated as she watched Vicky leave. She frowned but followed Vicky out of the boardroom, her curiosity piqued. As they stepped out into the hallway, Rose's voice grew louder, and Vicky's pace quickened. Mirabel's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. What was going on with Rose, and why was Vicky reacting this way? She quickened her pace to catch up with Vicky, her heart still aching from their earlier confrontation.
Vicky's eyes widened as he took in the scene before him. One of the male clients stood there, his clothes visibly wet, while Rose held a bucket of water. Mirabel's sharp voice cut through the air,
"Alright, thanks," the client said, smiling. "No, miss, it's okay. There's nothing to worry about. We'll be on our way." Vicky stepped forward. "No, we can't let you leave in this state. Let's get you sorted out."
"No, don't worry, it's okay," the client replied again. With that, he and his colleagues left the scene as Maya and Ethan escorted them out.
The tension was still palpable. Rose stood still, holding the bucket in her hands, while the other employees rushed upstairs to see what had happened, noticing the client's wet clothes.
"Why, Rose, why are you after my life?" Mirabel said, her voice shaking with emotion. "What did I ever do to you? Why did you have to do this?"
"Mirabel, that's enough," Vicky interrupted. "What happened was clearly a mistake and nothing else. Why make a fuss about it?"
"What did you say, Vicky? I am making a fuss? What if the client was hot-tempered? What if he got angry and cancelled the deal? Then what?" Mirabel's voice rose in frustration.
"But that didn't happen, did it? So there's no need for the unnecessary nagging, Mirabel. Just let go," Vicky replied calmly.
"What did you say to me? I am nagging? Oh, I see. Because she's your love, that's why you're supporting her. Am I right, Vicky? Tell me, Vicky, am I right?" Mirabel asked, tears dropping down her cheeks.
"Mirabel!!!!" Vicky shouted, "Enough! The only reason you're like this is because of your trust issues, Mirabel. You aren't angry because of the water she poured; it's because you don't trust me. You believe I'm going to leave you just the way the others did... and that's the truth."
Mirabel's heart sank, her tears flowing increased as Vicky said those words. She wondered if this was the Vicky she fell for. She turned back and walked towards the direction of her office.
Vicky jammed his hands together and angrily walked away. The rest wondered what had gone wrong, and they all sadly went back to their workstations, excluding Lucy, who enjoyed the scene she watched.
As for Rose, she was happy and uncertain at the same time. Had she really won Vicky over again ?
