Vicky sat on his bed, combing his hair as he prepared to head out for lunch with his creative team colleagues. He couldn't help but think about his next approach to speaking with Mirabel about his feelings and why she should give him a chance. "What else can I do?" Vicky said, putting on his white sneakers.

As he stood up from his bed, his phone rang. He checked the caller and noticed it was an unknown number. "Who could this be?" Vicky wondered, raising an eyebrow. He picked up the call and placed the phone on his right ear. "Hello?"

"Hello," Mirabel replied.

Vicky's eyes twitched as he recognized the voice. "Miss... Mirabel," he stammered.

"I would prefer it if you just called me Mirabel," Mirabel said.

Vicky's excitement was palpable. "Oh my goodness, am I dreaming? Is this an illusion?" he asked, trying to control his emotions.

Mirabel chuckled. "Vicky, calm down. You're not dreaming. It's not an illusion. It's me, Mirabel."

Vicky took a deep breath. "I mean... why have you called? I mean, it's good that you called, but what's the main reason behind it?"

"I was thinking we should maybe go out for lunch since it's a work-free day, as discussed last week," Mirabel said. "I thought we could just chill out, if you're okay with it."

Vicky's enthusiasm was evident. "I'm more than okay. I'll be right there. Don't worry."

Mirabel laughed. "Dude, chill. I haven't told you the location."

Vicky's face lit up. "Oh, I'm sorry. Please go on."

"I'll send you the location. For now, get ready and please stop acting weird," Mirabel said, her laughter still persistent.

"Okay," Vicky replied. "See you soon." Mirabel ended the call.

Vicky shouted in excitement, leaping for joy. He rushed to his mother's room and told her the good news. She smiled and wished him good luck. Vicky returned to his room, rearranged himself, and waited for Mirabel's text.

Upon receiving the location, Vicky headed out to "Eldore's Place." The restaurant was big and exotic, with blue lights filling the building. The aroma of delicious meals wafted through the air, and the sound of low-key piano music played in the background.

Vicky was greeted by a hostess with a broad smile. "Good afternoon, sir. Welcome to Eldore's Place."

Vicky responded to her greeting, and she led him to a table beside the window. "Thank you," Vicky said.

The hostess asked if he needed anything, but Vicky declined. As he waited for Mirabel, he couldn't help but feel nervous.

Just then, Mirabel entered, wearing a blue fitted dress and heels. Her hair was packed, and her lips were pink. She scanned the room, spotted Vicky, and waved at him.

As she approached the table, Vicky's eyes locked onto hers. "I'm sorry I'm late," Mirabel said.

"Don't apologize. It's an honor to have you here with me," Vicky replied.

Mirabel smiled, her cheeks flushing. "You always say weird things."

Vicky's eyes sparkled. "No, I'm serious. I love being around you, and I love staring at your beautiful face. It gives me peace."

Mirabel's smile grew wider. "Well... thank you. You don't look bad yourself."

As she sat down, she asked, "Have you ordered anything or were you waiting for me?"

"No, I'm okay. I don't need anything," Vicky replied.

There was a moment of silence, and then they both spoke at the same time. "I..." They paused, laughed, and Vicky said, "I'm all ears."

Mirabel smiled. "No, you go first."

Vicky insisted, "No, ladies first. Besides, you called me here."

Mirabel playfully teased, "So that's how you want to play it?"

Vicky chuckled. "Okay, then I'll go first."

Mirabel interrupted, "No, I will start."

Vicky nodded. "Okay, I really want to hear what you have to say. Your voice is so beautiful... it's like a..." Mirabel cut him off, laughing.

"Vicky, please stop flattering me."

Vicky held his lips, and Mirabel continued. "Vicky, I really don't know what to say, but I have decided to tell you whatever is hidden in my heart, no matter how I put it."

Mirabel paused, collecting her thoughts. "That night at the terrace was a night I will never forget. You said what was in your heart and I didn't receive it well, I didn't respond the way I wanted to, I didn't respond the way you wanted me to and I really regret it. The thing is, Vicky I am confused, I don't know what to do, I am scared of taking another shot at love. I...I like you but I don't know my mind and emotions keep pulling me back, I...."

"You're scared of being heartbroken again....." Vicky says, Mirabel gasps, "How did you know..", Mirabel asks, "I understand...., I have heard that experience before and I thought I would never love again but I eventually did....".

"What do you mean...." Mirabel asks, Vicky takes a deep breath and begins to share his story. "You once asked me why I left Dillsville and I told you I wanted more for myself, I wanted to start afresh and I said the truth but it wasn't the whole truth. Back in Dillsville, I was okay, although I didn't have a childhood every kid would want I didn't let that get to me, I sailed through.

"I grew up seeing my mom weeping due to physical abuse imposed on her by my dad, she would always scream in pain and my dad wouldn't stop. I was scared but my mom didn't let me hate my dad, she would always support him and tell me the whole scenario was caused by her but that wasn't the truth. Growing up.., I started okay, I had a job and I was doing fine, all I needed was someone to love and calm my own, of course my mom was still there but I am sure you know what I mean.

"It was then I met Rose, she was beautiful, charming and amazing, she was what I ever wished for. I loved her dearly, I was willing to sacrifice absolutely anything for her. We started dating, I introduced her to my mom but my mom didn't like her, she told me to end our relationship but I refused I didn't want to let go of Rose, she was my everything.

"As time went on, Rose changed, she started treating me with disdain, she didn't take my calls, she ignored me and as time went on, she blocked me. I was shattered but I still pursued her. One night I went to her home to see her, immediately she saw me she wanted to leave but I pulled her back, she slapped me and it was then I realized that she wasn't the Rose I knew.

"She told me that she didn't want to spend her life with a lowlife like me, she wanted more, I begged her but she didn't listen, she left me. That night was the last time we saw each other, and that night ruined my entire life, I couldn't concentrate on work, I became worthless, I threw my life away, I was completely shattered into many pieces.

"My mom supported me, she stood by me and it was then I decided to leave Dillsville, I said to myself that I never wanted to have anything to do with love but my mom disagreed she told me to keep my heart open. She said there's still someone out there who will love and cherish you.

"To be honest I never believed I could love again, but I was wrong, you changed my thoughts, you've revived my heart and you've made me believe in love again, Mirabel I really love you and I will do anything absolutely anything to make you happy. Even if you don't feel the same, I am okay, as far as you're...."

"Vicky..." Mirabel interrupts, "I didn't know you've experienced what I have experienced.., yet you still want love....."

"Why not..., Love's everything and you're my everything, Mirabel I truly love you and I'll love you till the end of time....." Vicky says, his eyes locked on Mirabel's.

"Vicky..., I .... I .., don't know what to say..." Mirabel says.

"I won't rush you, take your time, it's hard to move on from a heartbreak so please take your time to decide....." Vicky says. Mirabel remained speechless, staring at Vicky, her mind convinced that Vicky truly loved her but she couldn't muster up the courage to confess her love.

"You must be hungry....." Vicky says, jolting Mirabel's mind back to reality. "Erm....yeah, let's order something....." Mirabel replies. Vicky calls the hostess and they both order something, the rest of the afternoon was fifty percent quiet because Vicky did all the talking and Mirabel listened, still trying to push out the words, "I love you too Vicky...".
