Wanda pulled a now hyperactive Pietro aside and explained the entire story to him. Ever since he became Iron Man, Tony Stark had been promoting world peace and no longer sold any weapons. The missiles that had been stuck in front of them for three days were a result of Tony having cancelled their detonation program. The missiles, which had been secretly sold by Obadiah Stane, had been reprogrammed so they wouldn't function as efficiently as Tony originally designed them. Otherwise, the two of them wouldn't have survived. Tony wasn't Justin Hammer, he wouldn't make his missiles useless.
Pietro felt a hollow emptiness in his heart. The person he had hated for so long, it turned out, was simply a misunderstanding.
"It was Obadiah who was secretly selling military weapons..."
"He was killed by Mr. Kurohane, and the news was broadcast on TV and in newspapers, but the full story wasn't revealed until after the Battle of New York," Wanda explained concisely.
Kurohane, in fact, was not aware of this. After the Battle of New York, he had immediately dismantled the HYDRA organization and handed over the subsequent work to Steve and the others. Captain America, filled with a strong sense of justice, did a more thorough job. He publicized all the information about HYDRA and S.H.I.E.L.D. over the years. When the information was released, they realized that the details about Kurohane as a double agent were also included, which caused a huge sensation.
However, the Vatican in Rome immediately declared that the Kurohane who had been a double agent no longer existed. The current Kurohane was an Angel from Heaven, a superhero who had saved all of New York from the threat of a nuclear bomb. No one could dispute that! All the Avengers also came forward to support Kurohane, so his reputation was not ruined. The information that was released instead became a sensational news story, digging into Kurohane's history before the Angel's 'arrival'. In the end, almost everyone concluded that Kurohane was born a good person. He had just accidentally joined HYDRA, otherwise, an Angel would not have chosen him as a vessel. It was all HYDRA's fault!
Seeing Pietro's downcast expression, Kurohane put an arm around his shoulder. "It's okay. I'm going to take you to see a great show. I guarantee you won't feel bad after watching it!"
"Huh? What show?"
Kurohane took Wanda and Pietro directly to New York and started a major shopping spree. All expenses were on him! As a shareholder of Stark Group, his credit card, which had once been 'maxed out' by Natasha, was now completely filled with money again. This was the quarterly dividend that the Stark Group automatically transferred. Tony, who knew that Kurohane would return one day, had immediately arranged for professionals to manage his finances. Kurohane was now a super-rich person, he could even be on the list of the world's wealthiest people.
The two young people had never seen the life of the super-rich, and neither had Kurohane, but he knew how to act cool! After confirming his financial situation, he immediately transformed into a new money magnate. He took the twins and immersed them in the 'sweet waters of capitalism,' directly reshaping their values.
Half an hour later, three people with a fresh new look appeared in the lobby of Stark Industries. Kurohane and Pietro were wearing super expensive suits. Wanda wore a red dress that looked ordinary, but in reality, everything she was wearing from head to toe was luxury. The value of their outfits alone was enough to buy an entire housing estate in Sokovia. Initially, they couldn't even walk properly, their bodies as stiff as puppets. But after seeing Kurohane swipe his card without a second thought at several luxury stores, they got used to it. Money was just a number, no big deal.
Kurohane took them to witness the impending chaos. The work in Sokovia was already finished. Tony didn't even fly the jet anymore, leaving his fellow Avengers behind and controlling his armor to fly directly from Eastern Europe to New York. If it weren't for the great show that was about to begin, Kurohane would have taken Wanda and Pietro to eat first. Tony was rushing back because he didn't want this matter to be known to everyone. Unfortunately, with Kurohane present, nothing could be hidden.
"Pietro, the filming part is up to you!"
"Understood!"
"Both of you, follow me. I know the best vantage point to watch this show!"
Kurohane led the bewildered twins directly to Stark Tower. As they entered, they collided with Happy Hogan, Tony's former bodyguard and now the head of security for the Stark Group. Happy was monitoring everyone who appeared at Stark Tower, and if anyone wasn't wearing a badge, he would immediately scold them.
When Kurohane and the twins entered, Happy immediately spotted them. The combination of a handsome man and a beautiful woman was very eye-catching, and they weren't wearing badges. Just as Happy was about to reprimand them, he met Kurohane's gaze.
"Mr. Kurohane?! It's been a long time. Are you here to see Tony?"
Happy didn't care about Wanda and Pietro's identities at all. From their appearance, Wanda was clearly Kurohane's girlfriend, while Pietro, who was holding the camera, was just one of those things rich people liked.
"No, we just dropped by for a coffee."
Kurohane introduced Wanda and Pietro as his good friends. Happy, of course, believed him. If this person wanted to harm Stark Group, he wouldn't bother to enter. And with Kurohane present, Stark Group was the safest place on Earth!
Kurohane and the twins sat in the lounge area and slowly sipped their coffee. The aroma alone indicated it was expensive, brewed by Happy with Tony's special coffee beans. This was what Kurohane liked about Tony. The coffee here might not be the best, but it was definitely the most expensive!
"Kurohane, what show do we want to watch here?" Wanda asked. She saw the busy crowd, still feeling a little uncomfortable, and subconsciously moved her chair closer to Kurohane.
Kurohane pointed to the sky outside the window and smiled. "The actors are about to arrive. Don't forget to turn on the camera!"
Boom!
