[Story Points - 2]
I looked at the screen once again before turning it off.
Story points seem to me like money.
The more you gain the better.
I can use them to increase my stats, skills and buy things from the shop.
So, it would be pretty convenient to have those in bulk in times of crisis.
As I walked through the gates and entered, I could see many students wearing the same uniform as me.
Almost all of them seem to be from rich noble families.
And, at last the academy itself.
It was almost at the northern border of the Imperial Capital City of Wemberton.
The first thing I noticed wasn't just how big or beautiful the Academy looked—it was how it was built.
This wasn't just a school. It looked like a fortress pretending to be a school.
Tall stone walls surrounded everything.
There were towers at the corners, not in use, but definitely there to remind everyone—this place was strict, and ready for trouble.
The main building stood right in the center. It was tall, made of grey stone, with large, colorful windows.
It clearly held the important rooms—probably where the headmaster and staff stayed.
All the other buildings spread out around it, like the center of a spider web.
That wasn't random.
It meant whoever stayed in the middle had control over everything.
To the west, I saw a long building with sparring areas and wooden training dummies. That was where they trained in combat.
A good place to watch others fight—and maybe mess with someone's practice if needed.
On the east side, there were towers with glass tops and glowing symbols.
Magic and books. That would be the library and magical labs. Information is power.
I'd have to find out who had access to it and how to use it myself.
The dorms were also clearly divided.
The ones on the outside looked plain, probably for commoners or low-ranked nobles.
The ones closer to the center were fancy—meant for the powerful.
Living close means being part of the inner circle.
That's where real alliances and enemies are made.
I carefully looked around—marking exits, quiet corners, even where magical security might be.
Every part of this place could be useful.
I just had to learn how to use it.
As I didn't know where the orientation ceremony was being held, I followed the crowd and found a large solitary building behind the sparring area.
It was not too tall, not too wide, not too fancy, not too shabby.
Moreover, it was large enough.
The sign outside the building read, Orientation Ceremony For First Years.
It is still a mystery to me, how can I read and understand the language of this world.
But, keeping that fact aside, as I entered the building, the air suddenly started feeling cool, maybe there was a magic engineered air conditioner installed.
Then, as I walked inside, there was a particular room, students were entering into.
I followed through and entered that room from the back door.
"Holy shit!"
I couldn't contain my astonishment at the size of the room.
Calling it a room would be a crime at this point.
This hall was so large, that if I had to take a rough guess, it's capacity must be way more than 10,000 people.
And this wasn't even the strange part.
The fact that this hall doesn't appear that big from outside is what astonished me.
"Is he crazy or what?"
I heard some from behind, as I realized, I must have shouted out loud.
I quickly lowered my voice, embarrassed. A few students turned to look at me with curious or annoyed expressions. Most ignored me.
I quietly walked to a corner seat near the back. It was safer here—easier to observe everyone without drawing attention.
I could see the whole hall from here, including the grand stage at the front where professors and officials were gathering.
The hall was massive.
The ceiling looked like it stretched endlessly, decorated with floating lights and banners showing the Academy's crest—two crossed swords under a star.
Magic was definitely involved. The seats filled quickly as more students poured in.
Everyone was dressed neatly, faces full of ambition, pride, or fear.
Mostly nobles, but a few commoners stood out like dirt on silk.
A tall, older man in dark robes walked up to the stage. The crowd quieted instantly.
He raised his hand.
"Welcome to the Imperial Knights Academy," he said, voice magically amplified. "Today marks the beginning of your path—as warriors, mages, nobles, or even rulers."
His speech continued, filled with the usual stuff—rules, expectations, punishment for dishonor, glory through effort, etc. I tuned it out.
Instead, I opened the system screen in front of me.
It blinked to life.

I clicked on Stats first.
The screen shifted.
[Stats - Dorian Valen]
Strength: 7
Agility: 8
Endurance: 6
Intelligence: 10
Charisma: 9
Willpower: 5
Luck: 4
[Note: Average human stat = 5]
So… not bad.
I was clearly built more for the mind than the body. Intelligence at 10 meant I could think fast, learn quickly, and probably pick up magic or tactics faster than others.
Charisma at 9 wasn't surprising either.
That explained the noble look, the voice, the presence—tools to persuade, manipulate, or lead.
But the low willpower and luck were a problem.
Willpower meant inner strength—resisting mental attacks, fear, manipulation.
And mine was barely above average.
I'd need to boost that if I was going to outplay people smarter than me.
As for luck… 4 was just plain dangerous.
In a world where magic, battles, and unpredictable forces existed, bad luck could mean sudden death. I'd need to be extremely cautious.
Next, I clicked on Skills.
