Chapter 133 - Chapter 133: The Name That Broke Zetsu

"Obito… what exactly happened last night?"

Black Zetsu finally seized the opportunity, his expression grave as he looked at Obito.

"I arrived too late and only saw fragments of what happened. I don't know the details. I want to know the truth—who the hell was that guy?"

"That guy…"

Just thinking about the figure in white robes floating midair made Obito grit his teeth again.

"His goal seemed to be the Nine-Tails' chakra. That's why we went there—we sensed its chakra being drawn out."

[Thump]

The moment he heard "Tailed Beast chakra," Black Zetsu's heart skipped a beat.

"And that guy's abilities were very similar to the Rinnegan—but his eyes weren't Rinnegan. They were a bright azure blue. We had no way to deal with him!"

Powers similar to the Rinnegan…

Black Zetsu's heart sank even deeper. Even though he'd had a faint hunch, hearing it confirmed made his body tremble.

"There's more—he was incredibly arrogant."

Obito didn't notice the change in Black Zetsu's expression. He clenched his fists tightly and gritted his teeth as he spoke.

"He sounded polite, but always carried that superior tone—that arrogance was absolutely disgusting."

"Even though he was wearing a mask, I could still see the smile on his face… but his eyes were hollow, indifferent."

"Later on, every other sentence out of his mouth was about 'inferior lifeforms.' Who the hell does he think he is?!"

Uchiha Obito was shouting in rage, while Black Zetsu was on the verge of collapse.

Polite, yet indifferent…

Looking down on everything…

Calling others 'inferior lifeforms'…

These descriptions shattered what little composure he had left. Even White Zetsu was giving Black Zetsu a confused look, completely unable to understand what was going on with him.

"Right—he also said a name."

Suddenly, Uchiha Obito took a deep breath, painful memories flooding back to him. But he couldn't stop himself from continuing.

"I don't know if you've ever heard of it."

"…Say it."

"He said… his name is Ōtsutsuki Genshiki."

"…"

In that moment, it felt as if Black Zetsu's entire soul collapsed.

If not for White Zetsu propping him up, he would have already crumpled to the ground.

His eyes lost focus as he instinctively looked up at the sky, his gaze empty.

His lips trembled, as if he were trying to say something, but not a single sound came out.

Ōtsutsuki Genshiki…

Hearing that name, he truly felt the weight of complete despair.

Although he had only been born in the final moments before Kaguya's sealing, he had still inherited part of her memories.

Now, one terrifying thought emerged in his mind—

It's over. One of Mother's kin… really came after us.

...

"Tch… I'm exhausted."

While Black Zetsu was spiraling into despair, deep within a mountain cave hidden in the dense forests of the Land of Fire, Kitagawa Gen slowly stood up, his entire body aching.

"Looks like I still have to limit how much Tenseigan chakra I draw in… even my body can't handle that much at once."

Using the Tenseigan chakra from the moon to 'layer buffs' in battle had long been part of his plan.

The coordination of the Tenseigan, Yin Release, Yang Release, and various chakras formed the core of Ōtsutsuki Genshiki's combat style.

He hadn't touched the other types of nature releases—after all, he needed to leave something for his "main body" to use later.

And the chakra from the giant Tenseigan wasn't easy to endure. He still vividly remembered what happened when he forcefully fired a blast at the Land of Wind.

He hadn't dared to go overboard last night. He kept probing, trying to find the optimal amount to draw in.

After all, he himself also possessed the Tenseigan, and his bloodline was of the Ōtsutsuki as well. Naturally, there was no issue with him using that power.

"Still, given the current level of development of my eyes and the extent to which my bloodline has been unlocked, there will be some aftereffects post-battle."

Though his whole body ached, it wasn't anything serious. A bit of proper rest would be enough to recover fully.

"Besides, the gains from this fight were more than worth it."

He took out a scroll—the Nine-Tails' chakra had already been sealed within it. Once he'd recovered, he could start absorbing that energy right away.

"And on top of that, with Uchiha Itachi and the others beaten down like that, there's no one left to compete with me for the Spirit Tools."

Whether Uchiha Itachi had died or not, he wasn't entirely sure—but he knew for a fact that Itachi had fought with everything he had.

Unfortunately for them, he had complete intelligence on every one of his opponents, and could unleash his dōjutsu without restraint.

That meant that even though it was his first time using the identity of Ōtsutsuki Genshiki, and even without activating "Dual Mode Assist," he could still crush them with ease.

"Kisame, I didn't even bother with him—but just the residual force from that strike he took wouldn't have been easy to endure. As for Uchiha Obito…"

Recalling the events of last night—at the last moment, Uchiha Obito had tried to ambush him.

But what Obito didn't know was that he had also been waiting for the chance to ambush him.

When he made his move and Obito approached, attempting to use Kamui to absorb or force him back, he immediately countered with Gravitational Pull to drag him in by force.

And in terms of attack speed, he had definitely outpaced Obito.

As a result, Uchiha Obito had been utterly obliterated right in front of him. Even his corpse and bones were reduced to dust by the eruption of the giant Tenseigan's chakra.

"Still… Izanagi really isn't that easy to break."

That kind of technique, forcibly rewriting reality using the power of Yin Release, was something he truly had no good way to counter.

"Whatever. The harvest this time was more than enough—not only did I obtain the Nine-Tails' chakra, the Spirit Tools are now within reach as well. The only thing I'm unsure about… is what happened to Black Zetsu."

He chuckled casually—whatever had happened to Black Zetsu didn't really matter.

What mattered was…

This time, he had won completely.

...

The fall of the Temple of Fire and the collapse of its entire mountain gate caused quite a stir throughout the Land of Fire.

In Konohagakure, the matter was escalating by the day. The arrival of Chiriku only intensified the discussions.

"Is that man after the Nine-Tails' chakra?"

In the Hokage's office, Hiruzen wore a grim expression.

"Even members of the Akatsuki showed up—and were effortlessly defeated by him?"

"Yes, Hokage-sama."

Chiriku, now mostly recovered, gave a helpless nod.

"That man is incredibly strong—so strong that I didn't even have the chance to make a move before he took me down."

"Chiriku, isn't that a bit exaggerated?"

Asuma stared at his old friend in disbelief. He knew full well what Chiriku was capable of.

"Not even a chance to fight back? That's hard to believe."

"Nothing is impossible," Hiruzen interrupted his son, his tone heavier than ever.

"From what we can tell, the Akatsuki members present were Hoshigaki Kisame, Uchiha Obito, and Uchiha Itachi."

"Kisame aside for the moment—Uchiha Itachi massacred the entire Uchiha clan. Uchiha Obito killed the Fourth Hokage and his wife, and orchestrated the Nine-Tails' Night."

"Both of them wield Mangekyō Sharingan, and yet even they were so easily defeated and left on the brink of death. That man..."

Hiruzen now felt a pounding headache. Just dealing with the already-dangerous and scheming Akatsuki was troublesome enough.

But now, another figure had emerged—one of overwhelming power, capable of crushing even the likes of Uchiha Itachi with ease. How could he possibly feel at ease?

"What's happening to the shinobi world?"

Despite his frustration, Hiruzen forced himself to calm down and turned to Jiraiya.

"Jiraiya, you must keep a close watch on Naruto. I doubt that man is only interested in chakra, so—"

"I know. I'll keep an eye on Naruto," Jiraiya replied, his face just as grave.

"But I'm planning to make a trip to Mount Myōboku. The shinobi world is changing too drastically lately—I need some guidance."

He had encountered the trio of Uchiha Obito and the others more than once. He'd fought Kisame multiple times.

He had a clear understanding of their strength—yet now, all three of them had been utterly beaten by one mysterious man. He couldn't help but be suspicious.

On top of that, the situation with Nagato was also weighing heavily on him. He truly did want to consult the Great Toad Sage.

"By the way, is that really his name?"

"Yes. His name is... Ōtsutsuki Genshiki."
