Chapter 14 - I'm not racist, you are racist

[Third POV, Year 2001, Eleventh Loop, 4th of April]

Currently, being daytime, we find our protagonist rising from his bed thanks to his alarm clock, with an injected sound he made saying, "Wake the fuck up, samurai, we have a city to burn."

Adrian exhaled sharply as his eyes opened slowly with grogginess. For a moment, he lay still, feeling with pleasure the temperature and atmosphere of his situation. Do you know when, at night, you fall asleep while it's raining, so the night is cold until morning, but because of the warmth of your blanket, it feels nice? Like as if you don't want to get up? That is what our protagonist feels at the moment.

His hand slid out from under the blanket with reluctance. Getting up from the comfort of his bed was hard, but he slowly stood up and put on his slippers, then slowly walked to the living room, where, in surprise, he saw his father's silhouette in the kitchen. Approaching him, he spoke to his father with some doubt.

"Dad? Are you doing the breakfast today?"

Somewhat surprised by hearing so suddenly a voice behind him, our protagonist's father's head snapped to where his son was. Sighing when he saw him, Edwin turned his face back to what he was doing , breakfast, while he answered Adrian.

"Ah yes... your mother said she is not feeling well today. I'm going to call in my boss and say I can't go today; thankfully, my boss is my brother, so it's alright."

Giving a low chuckle at the end, Edwin stops talking. Hearing what his father says makes Adrian nod, and then he started to walk away to his room again, specifically to enter his bathroom. The only reason he decided to go to the living room was to ask his mother if she could make him what she called "huevos rancheros con tostadas" that was from Colombia; however, seeing that his father was making pancakes, he decided to just eat those.

Meanwhile, our protagonist decided to enter the bathroom and shower. His father looked in the direction of Adrian's room and then at the direction of the room he shared with his wife. With a downcast look, he muttered,

"I will have to try and calm her down meanwhile Adrian is in school. It's our son after all, so what if he is a mutant? While our kid is smart and mature, knowing that his own mother fears and feels disgust for him... that would mess up even the strongest of men."

Sighing, Edwin decided to put all of his attention into making breakfast right now.

Twenty minutes after, our protagonist comes to the living room and sits in front of the dining table, specifically in front of the plate with pancakes and scrambled eggs, which sadly didn't have sausage in it. Starting to eat, Adrian looked at his father, who was currently taking a plate with food to his parents' room, probably for his mom.

With that aside, the day went normal for our protagonist. Before going to school, he said to his father to call their lawyer so they could get to work filing the patents. Then his school day passed like normal... well, as normal as it could be to the five-year-old in a classroom of teenagers.

Weirdly enough, he didn't experience isolation. First of all, because being friends with the prodigy child capable of skipping so many grades meant that you would have an easier time copying and asking for help with homework. Even some of the dumber ones hoped that some of his intelligence would rub off on them a little bit so they'd get smarter.

Then there's the fact that he was a child, which meant that even bullies would not mess with him. After all, they were brutes or people who just wanted to have some dominance over their peers, but a child is not something they would try to annoy. In fact, some of them even said that if someone messed with Adrian, he could tell them and they would teach that person a lesson.

So, one could say Adrian had a popular and good life in school.

Getting home, he finds his mother sitting on a couch in the living room with his father at her side. He quickly greeted them both.

"Hi, Dad. Hi, Mom. Are you feeling better?"

His mom, Laura, saw her son talking to her, and she answered, her tone somewhat different because of a sore throat and looking at the tv in front of them.

"Hi, yeah, I'm feeling a little better. You should drop your bag in your room."

"Hey, Adrian, I already called the attorney, and the time to meet with him is in like 30 minutes, so leave your bag at your room and let's go."

Hearing what his father said instantly captured Adrian's attention, pulling it away from his mother's strange tone, which he attributed to a throat infection or whatever "illness" she had, at least according to what his father said to him this morning. What he doesn't know is that the reason for his mother's sore throat was because of her screaming at his dad, as they had a discussion 30 minutes after he left for school, which spanned almost all of his time in school.

Quickly going to his room, Adrian leaves his bag there and rushes again to the living room, where his father was at the door to exit the house.

"Bye, Mom."

"Bye, Adrian."

Leaving the house with his father, our protagonist proceeds to meet with his attorney. First, they talked about requesting a provisional application so that, in at least one year, people don't just steal his idea or at least can't legally produce the parts. Then, of course, they wanted to start immediately the patenting process, but as those take at least a year to be approved, at least they would have to wait until the military and Stark Industries take notice of his inventions.

As for how he wanted attention from Stark Industries? Internet. Considering that Stark made J.A.R.V.I.S. (I will just call him Jarvis) pretty soon after his butler's death. As for how did he know he died? Simple internet search, as he was considered a father figure for Tony Stark, and that made him somewhat famous, even more because of some words Tony said in an interview almost a year ago.

Author note: So... after all of those chapter were i was doing trying to implement some character depth, is time for our protagonist to meet iron man himself.

i'll plan to make an auxiliary chapter in a auxilary volume so that all of you can ask your questions and i'll try to answer them without giving spoilers about future plot points

Should i speed the pace of the fic or nah? i intend this fic to be long, like, really long, as i can't make a fic with 3 entire routes and big character development with only 100 chapters, my stimate would be like at least 100 chapters per route, being the Obliteration/Ruthless one the shorter one but the one packed with more action.

So if y'all want me to speed the pace tell me.

Add to your library, drop powerstones and review the fic!
