Chapter 291 - Chapter 291: The Fall of a Nation

As he passed through the seven-colored mist, Huo Yuhao felt a flash before his eyes—and then, he saw a dragon.

To be precise, it was a colossal dragon soul.

The massive dragon soul shimmered with radiant, multicolored brilliance. Even its scales glowed with hues of the rainbow. Strangely, the shape of each scale was different, yet they fit together perfectly, like a mosaic of countless gemstones.

"So this is the Dragon God's remnant soul…" The magnificent sight left Huo Yuhao in awe. He was mesmerized by the brilliance radiating from every scale of the spectral dragon.

But he didn't have the luxury of lingering.

The moment the Dragon God's remnant soul noticed him, beyond the shock of someone trespassing here and the intense aura of Creation that lingered around him, it also detected a suffocating aura of destruction.

Since entering the dragon tomb, Huo Yuhao had used the power of Destruction to eradicate every lingering dragon soul—and this violent aura was naturally sensed by the Dragon God's remnant.

The brutal slaughter of its kin enraged the remnant soul, pushing it into fury. Driven by the last vestiges of its will, it launched an attack at Huo Yuhao.

Staring at the glowing seven-colored brilliance before him and feeling the oppressive divine might, Huo Yuhao remained utterly calm. Under the divine pressure of the Dragon God, any being aside from the Silver Dragon King or himself would have been reduced to ashes on the spot.

But with the protection of the twin gods—Destruction and Life—and his own mastery over the laws of heaven and earth, the Dragon God's power had no effect on him.

"Hmph. Old beast… Become my stepping stone and disappear from history. Whether your kind lives or dies has nothing to do with me." Huo Yuhao murmured coldly. Then, the violet glow in his left eye burst forth.

With the descent of the true might of the God of Destruction, the seven-colored divine radiance of the Dragon God instantly dulled, then was utterly obliterated under the overwhelming purple light. The Dragon God's soul itself was torn to shreds by the devastating divine force.

Now, nothing remained in this tomb but a dense aura of Creation. All other remnants of the Dragon God's strength were obliterated—only the pure power of Creation, untouched by Destruction, was left behind.

What Huo Yuhao needed to do now was absorb this power completely. With the aid of the two gods, Destruction and Life, he would soon forge the God Seat of Creation.

Thus, Huo Yuhao sat cross-legged where the soul had vanished and began his long secluded cultivation, absorbing the overflowing energy of Creation that filled the space.

In Star Luo City.

Three months after being surrounded by the Sun Moon Empire's vast army, the final order came from the empire's supreme architect and the empress-general: capture Star Luo City, complete the unification of the Douluo Continent, and rename it the Sun Moon Continent.

The defenders of Star Luo collapsed under the might of the imperial army. Even the Titled Douluos who protected the Star Luo royal family were brought down by waves of ninth-level soul tool attacks.

Within the royal palace, the desperate Star Luo Emperor, Xu Jiawei, faced the soldiers who had overrun the palace. With a heavy heart, he removed his crown and, to prevent more bloodshed, announced Star Luo's unconditional surrender to the Sun Moon Empire.

But to accept this surrender, the Sun Moon Empire posed a single demand: surrender the White Tiger Duke—Dai Hao.

The proposal was met with furious opposition. The White Tiger was a symbol of spiritual pride in Star Luo, both beloved by the people and revered by the military. If he were handed over, the nation's humiliation would not only be complete—it would be carved into the annals of disgrace.

To everyone's astonishment, however, Xu Jiawei silently agreed. Even more shocking, Duke Dai Hao himself raised no objections.

Only Xu Jiawei knew the reason why.

Now, the Sun Moon Empire's godlike chief architect was a household name across all three Douluo nations. His contributions to the continent's civilians had begun to overshadow the very fact that his empire had launched a massive invasion. Even the people of the former Douluo nations had started to revere him.

Yet this man—this almost divine figure—held a deep and bitter grudge against none other than the White Tiger Duke himself.

Xu Jiawei understood that under such circumstances, there was no choice but to hand Dai Hao over.

"It's the price of one's own actions," he muttered with a sigh.

After signing the surrender, the fallen emperor simply sought a quiet place to sit, numb and exhausted.

---

Duke Dai Hao, now a captive, was escorted to the command tent outside Star Luo City, where the empress-general, Juzi, awaited him.

Inside the tent, Juzi sat at the central command chair, her presence sharp and cold as steel. Her icy gaze fell upon the man being dragged before her.

"Kneel!" barked the guards, attempting to force him to submit before their revered commander.

But how could a man like the White Tiger Duke bow so easily?

Standing unmoved, he stared directly at Juzi, his eyes filled with defiance. No amount of pressure could force him down. The soldiers tried to push him, but the strength of a White Tiger Douluo was not something they could hope to rival.

"You must be the famed empress-general of the Sun Moon Empire," he said with a grim smirk. "I never thought a woman could command such power. Impressive."

Seated beside Juzi was an elderly woman—her personal guard from the Fire Phoenix Soul Master Corps—who instantly rose in fury.

"You lowly prisoner of a fallen state, dare to speak to the empress-general with such disrespect!?"

By all rights, at such a critical moment in the Holy War, Kong Deming would have taken the lead personally. But the gap between the two nations had grown too wide. Without Shrek Academy's aid, the Star Luo Empire no longer warranted his presence.

Juzi raised her hand with a calm expression. "Grandmother, don't waste your anger."

The Fire Phoenix Douluo, Luan Feng, sat back down reluctantly, her eyes still burning with rage as she stared daggers at Dai Hao.

Privately, Luan Feng was well aware of her lady's history—this man before them was the object of Juzi's lifelong hatred.

"You know why I brought you here?" Juzi's voice was deathly cold.
