Chapter 266 - Chapter 266: Fire Rockets

Xu Tianyuan turned his head in surprise towards Huo Yuhao, a hint of curiosity in his eyes. "Oh? Little Yuhao, you have such confidence in that young Empress? She seems to be about your age as well. If she can truly command the armies and win decisive battles at such a young age, she would indeed deserve to be called a legendary 'Empress of War.'"

Huo Yuhao smiled and nodded slightly, not offering any further explanation. He had great faith in Juzi, knowing her ambitions and capabilities far exceeded what others perceived. Seeing this, Xu Tianyuan refrained from asking more, shifting his gaze back to the scene unfolding beyond the armored windshield of the military vehicle.

"Little Yuhao, I don't quite understand the tactics of this new type of army. When we reach the battlefield, how do we initiate the attack? With so dense a formation, a frontal assault would surely result in heavy casualties," Xu Tianyuan said thoughtfully.

Hearing this, Huo Yuhao patiently explained, "Senior Xu, our army will not press forward recklessly. Before taking White Tiger City fortress, we will maintain at least a five-kilometer distance from their main forces."

Xu Tianyuan raised an eyebrow, puzzled. "Why such a large gap?"

"Senior Xu, in the past, the greatest strength of ordinary armies was simply numbers. They charged ahead to overwhelm soul masters through sheer mass. But now, things are different. Our new advantage still lies in numbers, but we exploit it by equipping the troops with soul tool weapons to unleash devastating, large-area firepower strikes."

He continued confidently, "Thus, the first thing we do at the start of battle is to perform a carpet-style bombardment of White Tiger City with our firepower. We must show them the overwhelming firepower advantage of our reformed army, something the old soul master groups could never achieve."

Xu Tianyuan nodded understandingly, his eyes lighting up with anticipation. "Firepower assault… Little Yuhao, now I'm getting excited."

He had seen firsthand the terrifying array of rocket artillery during the troop inspection: thousands of rocket launchers lined up neatly, creating an aura so oppressive even he, a Title Douluo, felt a sense of dread.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Dai Hao, riding his blood-sweating BMW horse and flanked by White Tiger Guards, reached a vantage point near White Tiger City's defensive pass, surveying the distant horizon.

Behind him, rows of elite soul master troops from the Western Army Group stood ready. Among them, soul masters of the Soul Elder level numbered in the thousands, close to ten thousand. Soul Sages, those mighty existences, numbered nearly a hundred. Such a force, if unleashed ten thousand years ago, could have easily conquered the entire Douluo Continent.

"Still no sign of their 'Hand of the Nation' soul master regiments?" Dai Hao asked a scout grimly.

The scout shook his head. "No, General. The enemy is just thirty kilometers away now, but we haven't detected any 'Hand of the Nation' units."

Dai Hao frowned deeply. Could the Sun Moon Empire really be so arrogant? Without elite forces like the 'Hand of the Nation,' how could they expect to breach this fortress, the most heavily fortified defense line under the Western Army Group?

Could they truly believe that their ordinary soldiers, armed merely with soul tools, could seize White Tiger Fortress?

Dai Hao mulled over this, deeply skeptical. Soul tools, no matter how advanced, couldn't bridge the fundamental differences between ordinary people and soul masters—in physique, in spiritual power, in combat instincts. To believe otherwise was folly.

It was precisely this deep-rooted faith in soul master supremacy that would ultimately lead to his downfall.

"Continue reconnaissance. We hold our ground." Dai Hao ordered firmly. He was curious to see just how far this "new model" of army could go.

"Yes, General!"

At the front of the Sun Moon Empire's massive army, three hundred "Radiance of the Sun" rocket artillery vehicles rumbled forward across the rugged mountain paths, pressing steadily toward the Star Luo Empire's defensive lines.

Inside one such vehicle, a young soldier in green uniform looked out at the distant silhouette of White Tiger Fortress, barely visible through the windshield. "Captain… to think we're the spearhead of the Empire," he murmured with awe.

The driver nodded as well. "Yeah..." He glanced into the side mirror, seeing the endless columns of rocket trucks behind them, each bristling with fearsome rocket launchers.

"Once, these were weapons only those exalted soul engineers could operate," the driver said with reverence. "But now…"

He tapped the dashboard full of buttons and knobs. "Now, with just a touch, we can unleash firepower that strikes targets tens or even hundreds of kilometers away. All thanks to the Grand Designer, Lord Yuhao."

Just then, an urgent broadcast came through the vehicle's internal speaker system.

"All rocket artillery troops, attention! We have entered effective maximum strike range! Cease vehicle movement, adjust formation, prepare for firing positions!"

"It's the commander's orders," the driver said, stepping on the brakes. He and his comrade exchanged an excited glance, their eyes filled with fervor.

Quickly, hundreds of rocket trucks aligned into organized battle formations. They opened clear corridors between them for the main army's passage while simultaneously adjusting their rocket launchers—which began emitting an ominous low hum as they powered up, pointing straight toward White Tiger Fortress.

"All units, prepare—"

Through the intercom, the voice of the First Army Group's Rocket Division Commander rang out, carrying authority and resolve.

Inside every cab, the soldiers solemnly placed their fingers upon the large red launch button.

"FIRE!"

In that instant, three hundred red buttons were pressed down simultaneously.

The "Radiance of the Sun" rocket trucks—a weapon system that Huo Yuhao had designed, inspired by the rocket artillery of his previous life—sprang into action. Using adapted fixed-installation soul guide cannons, they fired rocket projectiles at incredible rates.

Each truck, equipped with eight launch tubes, could fire once per second.

Thus, when three hundred trucks unleashed their barrage, it meant that two thousand four hundred rockets shot into the sky every second.

The roaring whistles of thousands of rockets filled the heavens, creating a terrifying, deafening cacophony. Even the brilliant sunlight paled in comparison to the dazzling trails of flames left behind by the rockets, as if the very sun itself were igniting the air.

This—was the Radiance of the Sun.
