Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: The Sealed Bottle—Complete?

Huo Yuhao took out a soul-powered lamp he had prepared earlier. Connecting the refined iron wires to the lamp's base—light instantly illuminated the room.

Seeing this, Xuan Ziwen began clapping enthusiastically. "You've got a real knack for research. What's your name?"

'Talent, huh? Well, I'm technically the only transmigrator from Earth in this world, right? So if I say I came up with this myself, there's no problem...'

'Shameless, really.'

"Huo Yuhao," he replied with a smile.

Watching Xuan Ziwen and Huo Yuhao chat so fluidly, Jing Hongchen suddenly felt a bit like the third wheel. Still, he chuckled and took a seat to watch them interact.

To be honest, Huo Yuhao's novel approach to using electricity had greatly surprised him. His self-developed core formation was even more impressive. But naturally, Jing Hongchen also saw the limitations.

"Electricity... It's very innovative. But there's a problem—it's too gentle. It can't power high-consumption, offensive or defensive soul tools."

"That's true," Huo Yuhao replied. "But soul tools can be categorized. Some are for military use, but we also need civilian applications. Civilian facilities don't require intense energy. For basic lighting and daily convenience, electricity is more than sufficient."

"So I believe your sealed bottle is a vital technology for our Sun Moon Empire, Teacher Xuan. But electricity that can benefit the people is equally important. After all, sealed bottles have their limits. Soul power can't be transmitted and distributed to the public the way electricity can."

Of course, low-voltage current can be converted to high-voltage through transformers. So, powering military soul tool installations isn't impossible either.

As he stared at the generator diagram Huo Yuhao had drawn on the blackboard, Xuan Ziwen suddenly asked a question.

"Yuhao, how exactly does this generator work?"

In response, Huo Yuhao drew the magnetic field lines between two magnets and began explaining the principle of electromagnetic induction.

"Generating electricity by cutting magnetic field lines... What a fascinating law of nature. Wait... conversion... transformation..."

After Huo Yuhao's explanation, Xuan Ziwen suddenly slipped into a trance-like state.

Huo Yuhao, Jing Hongchen: 'What's going on with him?'

"That's it... that's it!"

Xuan Ziwen suddenly slammed the table, startling both Yuhao and Jing Hongchen. He rushed to his soul tool workbench and began carving inscriptions feverishly.

"Conversion... just need to convert. Let the restless soul power cycle through various elemental properties inside the bottle... then transform... downgrade... upgrade... Soul power has layers of energy..."

He muttered things that made no sense to anyone else, completely absorbed in his own world.

Jing Hongchen wasn't surprised. He stood up and said to Huo Yuhao, "Let's go, my disciple. I'd wager Xuan Ziwen just figured out how to complete the sealed bottle. Even I can't match his genius when it comes to soul tools."

Huo Yuhao found it strange. 'So this is what a genius researcher is like?'

Only now did he recall that in the original story, Xuan Ziwen had indeed developed the sealed bottle. 'Did I just speed up that process?'

And what did that mean? Huo Yuhao felt excitement rising within him. "That's great, Master. That means many of the soul tools I designed can now be accessible to regular people!"

"Exactly. And combined with your electricity system..."

Jing Hongchen sighed deeply. He was getting old. He could feel a great transformation sweeping through the world of soul tools—and it stirred both nostalgia and awe in him.

But more than anything else, Jing Hongchen felt excited. Mingde Hall would be at the forefront of this revolution.

He led Huo Yuhao deeper into the hall, arriving at a room where a humanoid soul tool was being stored.

Huo Yuhao stood before a massive metal door. Jing Hongchen walked up to it, entered a password, and verified his identity using a soul power fluctuation. Only then did the door slowly open.

What appeared before Huo Yuhao was a towering humanoid metal construct, fifteen meters tall. The huge body was forged entirely from metal. It looked somewhat crude, but the structure was complete. Its chest was open, revealing what seemed to be a seat inside.

Around the metallic giant were numerous work platforms manned by soul engineers. When they saw Jing Hongchen enter, they paused to greet him, then returned to work. The rhythmic sound of hammering filled the room.

These soul engineers were Jing Hongchen's trusted followers within Mingde Hall.

"Well, Yuhao? Impressed? This is my proudest creation. You could say it represents the culmination of my decades of work."

Huo Yuhao nodded. 'This must be the prototype for mechas. Standing before it, I feel like an ant.'

"You know why I didn't hesitate for a second to let you join the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineering Academy the moment I found out you were a spiritual-type soul master, Yuhao?"

Before he could answer, Jing Hongchen continued, "It's because controlling a giant humanoid soul tool requires immense spiritual power. Although it's nearly complete, the problem is this—only Titled Douluo-level spiritual-type soul masters can even attempt to operate it."

"To make this thing move freely, we have to inscribe countless core formations at every joint. Soul power requirements can be solved with sealed bottles, but spiritual power? That has to come from the operator."

"Yuhao, in your opinion, is there any other way to improve this?"

After seeing Huo Yuhao's unique ideas, Jing Hongchen had begun to hope—just a little—that he might have another solution. Though he didn't hold high expectations.

But Huo Yuhao's response still surprised him.

"Master, if we shrink this humanoid soul tool down to three to five meters, and utilize certain mechanical structures, we can replace many of the overly complex core formations. That way, the spiritual power requirements won't be nearly as high. With the help of energy-charging bottles, even ordinary people might be able to wear a compact, full-body, humanoid armor set."

In the original story, mechas were reworked using mechanical principles from the Tang Sect's hidden weapons. For Huo Yuhao—now a transmigrator—this was even easier to manage.

"But if we're talking about something this massive—fifteen meters tall—then mechanical structures won't cut it. The load is too heavy, and no metal exists that's strong and flexible enough for it. In that case, we'd have to enhance the operator's spiritual power instead."

'Like the giant mechas in Pacific Rim that required multiple pilots due to the mental strain of controlling them alone.'

"Amplifying spiritual power, huh... That's actually something I've been exploring," said Jing Hongchen. "But this mechanical concept... I'm really interested. Could you explain it to me, disciple?"

"Of course, Master."
