Chapter 346 - Chapter 347: The Edo Tensei Army

Kaito was thoroughly enjoying the sight. If things had developed normally, this kind of scene could only appear inside the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

He led the two women over. The moment Itachi saw Kaito, he immediately called out,

"Kaito-sama."

Kaito smiled lightly and said,

"There's no need to be so formal when we're outside."

Yūgao and Kurenai quickly greeted Minato and the others as well, but when they saw Minato's uncle-like face, both of them couldn't help but laugh.

Minato, however, spoke to Kaito with a serious expression,

"Kaito, are you really confident you can deal with both the Rinnegan and the Ten Tails together?"

"Don't worry. No one understands those two things better than I do."

Kaito's expression radiated confidence. Forget Nagato—even if Ōtsutsuki Kaguya were to be resurrected, he could still handle it.

Naruto, for his part, had absolute faith in Kaito's strength. In his eyes, even if the Ten Tails sprouted a few extra tails, it still wouldn't be a match for Kaito-senpai.

Kaito waved his hand and said,

"All right, since we've run into each other, let's sit down and have a meal together. Consider it an early victory feast."

...

Three days later, Obito once again appeared in the Land of Iron, fixing the battlefield's location. Afterwards, under Kaito's orders, the entire Allied Shinobi Forces marched toward the battlefield.

In the barren desert wastelands, Akatsuki and the Allied Forces faced each other.

On Akatsuki's side, aside from Nagato and the others, there were also one hundred thousand White Zetsu. In sheer numbers, they were no weaker than the Allied Forces.

But Obito knew the true fighting ability of the White Zetsu. At best, they were there to make up the numbers.

This war, in truth, would be decided by the strength of the top fighters.

Kabuto stood beside Obito, staring at Kaito at the head of the Allied Shinobi Forces, his mind difficult to read.

Both sides held their ground for a moment until Obito finally gave the order. Instantly, the one hundred thousand White Zetsu charged forward like rabid dogs.

For Kaito, wiping out a hundred thousand White Zetsu was nothing more than a single Almighty Push, but he didn't even bother to move. With a wave of his hand, the Allied Shinobi Forces rushed forward to clash with the Zetsu.

In an instant, the entire battlefield was filled with a storm of jutsu. Under the relentless bombardment, the White Zetsu quickly began to falter. Nagato frowned and turned to Obito.

"These things are useless. At this rate, the Allied Shinobi Forces will wipe them all out in no time!"

Obito remained indifferent. From Kaito, he already knew that the White Zetsu were just people who had fallen under the Infinite Tsukuyomi—nothing more than walking corpses.

No matter how many of these things died, Obito wouldn't feel the slightest bit of guilt. The only exception was the special White Zetsu named Tobi.

Suddenly, Kabuto stepped forward, slamming his palm against the ground. Coffins erupted from the earth.

Countless familiar figures began stepping out of the coffins, and the Allied Shinobi Forces froze in shock.

Ōnoki and the others stared blankly at their own "predecessors."

Kaito smiled faintly. Now this was the real show: the Edo Tensei Army.

With their sudden arrival, the Allied Forces were caught off guard, and casualties piled up quickly. Ōnoki and the other Kage could no longer sit still and were forced into the fight.

But Edo Tensei was simply too broken—without sealing techniques, they couldn't truly be defeated.

Mei found herself facing the Second Mizukage, Hōzuki Gengetsu. She was struggling, already injured—her arm had been struck by his Water Pistol Jutsu.

Gengetsu himself didn't even want this fight. While battling, he was actually teaching Mei how to counter him. But as the fight dragged on, her wounds multiplied, and her stamina waned.

After another Water Pistol barrage, Mei finally stumbled, unable to hold herself up any longer.

From afar, Kabuto immediately seized the chance, controlling Gengetsu to release a wave of bubbles. They weren't so much bubbles as they were bombs—his signature jutsu, the Water Balloon Technique.

Mei knew all too well how deadly this technique was, but in her current state, evading was nearly impossible. Just as she was about to be engulfed by the bubbles, a figure suddenly appeared in front of her.

Black smoke surged up from the ground, converging into a barrier that sucked all the bubbles inside.

Mei stared blankly at the scene, murmuring,

"Hokage-sama..."

The one who had appeared was Kaito. He turned to her with a faint smile.

"Looks like you're in a bit of trouble. What's the matter? Can't bring yourself to strike down your predecessor?"

His words were clearly meant to spare her some dignity. Mei blushed slightly. Struggling to her feet, she somehow ended up leaning directly against Kaito's back.

Kaito felt the soft pressure against his back, yet his face didn't flush nor did his heartbeat quicken. He simply said softly,

"Just rest for now."

Leaning against him, Mei felt a sense of security she had never experienced before. She instinctively closed her eyes and let out a gentle, "Mm."

Gengetsu, watching this scene, immediately grew curious. He recognized the sacred robe Kaito wore, realizing that this "young man" was a Kage as well—the Hokage, no less!

And from Mei's reaction, it was obvious she had feelings for this Hokage. Good grief... Was Kirigakure about to form a marriage bond with Konoha?

Kaito remained still, letting Mei rest against him.

Dispelling the black barrier before him, he stretched out his hand toward Gengetsu in the distance. A black vortex formed in his palm.

Gengetsu froze for a moment, but before he could react, an immense suction force pulled him toward Kaito.

Many were secretly watching Kaito, eager to gauge the Hokage's true strength.

Kaito did not disappoint. The moment Gengetsu was dragged close, Kaito grabbed him by the throat. A tide of darkness surged from his hand, wrapping around Gengetsu's entire body until it formed a pitch-black coffin.

Kaito released his grip. The black coffin floated silently in the air, and the trapped Gengetsu was completely still.

From a distance, Kabuto's expression shifted. He realized he had lost all connection to Gengetsu. In other words, Gengetsu was completely gone.

His face darkened as he stared at the black coffin floating near Kaito, muttering in a low voice,

"A sealing technique? Without any preparatory movements at all... terrifying."

Ōnoki and the others, who were locked in fierce battles with their own "predecessors," were equally shaken. The enemies they were struggling desperately against hadn't lasted even a single round against Kaito. The contrast was staggering.

Mei slowly opened her eyes again, gazing at the black coffin floating in the air. With hesitation, she asked,

"Is it... over already?"
