Chapter 44 - THE GOLDEN MAIDEN

Nick once again demonstrated his great mastery as a lawyer, managing to keep Adam far away from the family—especially from Ana—through legal means. The cruel redhead would not be able to get close to Ana or any of the Archers again.

That alone calmed Ana more than she could have ever imagined. She began to feel the warmth of her family once more. Little by little, her smile returned.

Sara and her friends took care of the corrupt jury members who had set Adam free, making their lives a living hell. They lost their jobs, their friends, and eventually, their lives in sudden "accidents."

Only then did Nick and Sara finally feel at peace. Now, they could begin to focus on their children and on the love they felt for one another.

That afternoon, the twins went for a walk downtown, as Anthony wanted his sister to regain her mental freedom as well.

They soon ran into their friends Sindy and Shaoran, who had been close friends of the twins since childhood.

Ana felt uncomfortable at first, but her brother and their friends managed to break down the barriers the golden maiden had built. After a couple of hours, she was laughing with them while drinking beer.

Ana didn't miss the intense glances her twin and Sindy exchanged. She smiled to herself while she continued talking to Shaoran about all sorts of topics.

Sindy was a beautiful maiden, constantly protected by her father Gay and her cousin Shaoran. Anthony was drawn to her dark beauty, and she blushed with every heated glance the blond sent her way.

At one point, Ana got up to go to the bar and order more beer. But halfway there, she bumped into someone because the place was so crowded.

The young man she bumped into spilled his drink, soaking his shirt. The blonde blushed to the roots of her hair.

—"Sorry, sorry."

—"It's okay," the stranger replied with a beautiful smile that left the golden maiden stunned. "It's just… a drink…"

They both laughed, then fell silent, staring into each other's eyes. Suddenly, everything around them seemed to disappear, leaving only the two of them. The stranger had bicolor hair—blond and black.

Ana's heart beat like a drum. She felt something she had never felt before. A unique smile spread across her face as she began to move like the perfect lady she was. This aroused the stranger, who appeared to be a couple of years older than Ana.

—"That's good," the golden maiden said, sensually brushing a strand of her golden hair aside. "And you are…?"

—"Kaspy is my name. What's yours?"

—"Ana," she replied, smiling again, exciting Kaspy even more.

—"Beautiful name… just like you… beautiful golden maiden."

When he tried to touch her, Anthony's voice stopped him. The blond stepped between his twin and Kaspy protectively.

—"Who the hell are you? And what do you want with my sister?" Anthony demanded.

—"Whoa, twins, relax. We were just talking."

—"Calm down, brother," Ana interjected. "I was actually apologizing because I spilled my drink on his shirt," she explained, blushing.

Anthony glanced indifferently at the bicolor-haired man's soaked shirt. Then he grabbed his sister's right wrist.

—"Alright, you've apologized. Let's go, sister."

Without waiting for a reply, he walked away, taking Ana with him. But the golden maiden turned back one last time to look at Kaspy, smiling at him with intense sensuality.

The bicolor-haired man was left more than aroused. He returned to the bar to order another cold drink, clenching his teeth at the intense discomfort growing beneath his pants.

His friends were waiting for him, and since Kaspy knew how to hide it well, none of them noticed anything.

Ana, huh?

Kaspy thought as he drank his cold beer. Beautiful… even her name is beautiful.
