Chapter 86 - Key

The person who rejected the idea of humanity, the person with a new set of laws and fundamentals, the person who wanted to shape the world in his own way of art. He wasn't a saint, he wasn't a great philosopher, neither was he a deity meant to be praised. His story wasn't so unique; he wasn't a person who ran through countless tales of suffering only to realize the foolishness of humanity. But he was the man of truth, the person who aimed to redraw the very fundamentals of humanity, of the mortals. He was a person who ran throughout countless stories and witnessed the cruelty. Perhaps he was never a part of the story, but he continued his journey of witnessing all the tales. Then he came to a certain philosophical belief where he stood with the fundamental truth about human nature: "Humans aren't some emotional piece of flower who will sacrifice everything just for others, but the embodiment of selfishness who will destroy everything just for their own good, just for the sake of their selfishness. They smile, cry, destroy, create, kill, die; just for their selfishness. What you call love is nothing more than a part of their selfish nature, where they stand with an act of being one with a certain entity; the very aspect everyone describes as love. But if a beggar seeks love and sincerity from them, they'll show their true self with the darkness of hatred. Even the so-called kindest soul doesn't hesitate to slaughter the person who stands against their will, their love, or against the ones they love. But do they care about the ones they want to destroy? Do they understand the value of that person's soul to that certain person? Do they? Never. The truth is, humans are nothing more than foolish creatures meant to give birth to countless tales of sorrow and destruction. They're sinners, they're foolish and chaotic; thus the very solution destined for them is nothing but redemption. The sole way of redemption is by rewriting their depth, their soul, their heart, and the truth they're holding in their entire self."

The name of the person was…

After taking control over the 5th layer, we established our new hometown inside a new world of the 5th layer. Thanks to Maria's amazing creation magic skill, she managed to build an extremely beautiful world inside the layer. As Raizel was no longer with us, we were just hoping for him to return while continuing our mission upward to the higher layers. However, it was time for us to explore further in the 5th layer. The limitation we believed to have wasn't the very limitation of the 5th layer, but some hidden worlds appeared to exist on the outer side. The area we believed to be the 5th layer was known as "The final destiny of mortals."

To bypass the barrier of the 5th layer in order to ascend to the 4th, we needed to take over the root of the layer. However, things kept getting complicated as we stepped further forward. To ascend to a higher layer, we needed to take over a couple more locations like ours. The two more worlds are known as "The world of judgement" and "The world of blessing."

In order to ascend, we either needed to take the permit key from both of them or defeat them in order to take it. But it was something we could only daydream about. Apparently, neither of them was going to give the key to us. But we had to go for a gamble on this. We wanted to go to the "Land of blessing" in order to ask the ruler for the permit key. But it was a failure before even beginning; the ruler blocked us by using a deadly barrier that covered the land entirely. Rumors say no one has ever seen the face of the ruler. In fact, it's an impossible goal to achieve. For thousands of years, the ruler has existed inside the realm without going outside even once. Some say the ruler does go outside sometimes, but the ruler's figure has never been revealed since the dawn. No one even knows about the existing structure of the "Land of blessing." It was pretty mysterious to me; I don't understand the reason behind that. I had a very similar question as the others in my mind: "Does anybody even exist in the land of blessing?"

I tried my best to break the barrier with all of my might, same for the rest. But it was clearly a futile attempt. Giving up on this, we headed on our way toward "The land of judgement."

Luckily, it wasn't a land with a barrier or anything to prevent our intervention. But it wasn't a land with a great experience for us.

As we stepped inside the world by pushing the gate, we experienced the most chaotic and creepy world ever. Countless vampires running all around, dead bodies scattered throughout, and fresh hot blood floating everywhere. The vampires were consuming the dead bodies and drinking the fresh blood with their creepy faces. It was more like a death domain than anything.

"What is with this world? How is a world supposed to be like this? It's like hell more than anything," Elesia remarked, sounding pretty annoyed by everything in her sight.

"Indeed, it is hell for you," a voice heard out of nowhere.

The casual yet commanding voice caught my attention from a bit away. It was from the top of a huge red castle.

All of us shifted our focus upon the figure sitting on top of the castle. His appearance was simple. A figure with average height and dark hair. Suspensive eyes and an expression that seemed to be his usual. As for the outfit, he was wearing a long army-like red coat and a deep red jacket as an overlay for the coat.

He jumped down onto the land and stepped forward toward us while throwing a question, "Who are you guys? What do you have here to do? Tell me."

"We're here to meet the ruler of the realm; we have something to request of him," Aizis stepped ahead and replied with his usual style of speaking.

"I have to apologize, but your request has been denied. I'm not going to give you guys permission for that; go back," he replied, straightforward and orderly.

His way of treating us simply annoyed me hugely. I drew out my crimson red sword from a magic circle and immediately threw a battle challenge, "If so, then we will make our way in." My tone was challenging, but a little careless.

"Sure, come and bypass me," he immediately accepted my challenge and smiled widely to reveal his deadly intent for battle.

Before the rest could realize anything, we flew toward each other with incredible agility and blood-lusting intent. However, a voice interrupted our focus right midway. It was a well-matured yet soft voice coming from the entrance of the castle, "That's not how you treat guests, Rei."

It was a person with a tall figure and somewhat long, deep blue hair. He wore a long coat and a layered long jacket over that. His appearance was king-like. With the intense aura coming from his appearance, which covered the area while reflecting an incredible presence.

He smiled a bit toward us and added with a casual voice, "That's not the way of hospitality that you show toward a guest. A guest deserves proper treatment, but of course, only the guest we wish to see." He narrowed his eyes at us in the latter part of the sentence, giving a bit of a warning message to us.
